Enjoy kayaking on Little Traverse Lake or paddling through the quiet waters of Victoria Creek, hiking and cross-country skiing the surrounding trails, swimming (both Little Traverse and Lake Michigan), biking the miles of paved, low-traffic roads, stopping for fresh produce at a roadside farm stand, taking a trip by ferry to the Manitou Islands, tasting wine at the numerous vineyards, playing golf at the Manitou Passage Golf Club (Arnold Palmer signature course) or one of the many beautiful courses Leelanau has to offer.
Leland and Glen Arbor are ten minutes in either direction on scenic M-22 highway. Suttons Bay, Northport, and Traverse City are all nearby. Enjoy the many summer festivals, music concerts, restaurants, shops and galleries these charming villages have to offer. Take day trips to the famous Dune Climb north of Empire, or to the Interlochen Academy of the Arts for a world-class music or theater performance. Downhill skiing is available at the Homestead Resort and Crystal Mountain.

About the owner: Michael and Laurie both work for the University of Michigan, live in Ann Arbor, and have been coming 'up north' for years. They and their two sons have rented cottages over the decades on many of the inland lakes in the the Sleeping Bear dunes area, and have fallen in love with Little Traverse Lake.
Why the Owner Chose Maple City, MI, USA:
This place has it all! Perched on a beautiful inland lake, with easy access--by foot, bike, or car--to Good Harbor and the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We have found in all of our travels that the rolling hills, boundless lake shore, uncrowded sandy beaches, vineyards, orchards, fresh local food and charming villages of the Leelanau Peninsula are unparalleled.
