The Courtyard Suite

From the moment you open the gate onto your secluded patio and enter the Courtyard Suite, you are welcomed into the cozy charms of this two bedroom, two bath suite. Attached to a tranquil country home, and suitable for two couples or a family of four, this self-contained 1400 sq.ft. suite delights with its attention to detail and peaceful ambiance.

With panoramic views across the pastoral reaches of Mt. Newton Valley to the snow-capped mountains of the Olympic Range in Washington, enjoy morning tea or a candlelit dinner on your private patio amidst the English Country gardens with the waters of the Pacific Ocean close by.

Comfort and relaxation have been the key words for the design and execution of this unique property. Each master suite offers a Queen-sided bed with fine linens and sufficient drawers and closets for you to put your bags away and be at home during your stay. The attached bathrooms provide comfy bathrobes and extra towels, luxuriously appointed with local hand-crafted soaps and shampoos.

Your kitchen is fully equipped with every convenience and the pantry is stocked with spices, oils and condiments for your cooking pleasure. Your patio has a BBQ and comfy patio set for your outdoor dining enjoyment. If you are a late arrival, there will be fresh scones waiting in the fridge to savor in the morning.

During the summer months, take a glass of wine out to your patio and watch the skies light up with explosive colors every Saturday evening, compliments of the Butchart Gardens Summer firework show.

About The Owner

My Husband and I have travelled extensively. When, one day we sailed to Vancouver Island, we were captivated by the beauty of this entire area and knew that we had found a gem. We felt incredibly fortunate that we really stumbled on this stunning Island and knew that this is where we would love make our permanent home.

The Owner purchased this estate in 2006

The absolute beauty and uniqueness of the valley captivated us. The home with its beautiful gardens and spectacular views. We face South overlooking this beautiful valley, through to the Olympic Mountains of Washington. We can see the Ferries crossing from Brentwood Bay to Mill Bay. We enjoy the proximity to Victoria and the Inner Harbour to the South of us and the picturesque town of Sidney-by-the-sea to the North of us all within minutes away. We are always so happy to return to the Beauty, peace and tranquility of our home. Our property provides an ideal setting for our Equestrian activities, we can enjoy watching our horses grazing peacefully in their pastures..

We really did enjoy the relaxing atmosphere that was there at Heathwood. Along with you being more than accommodating to us in allowing us the use of the downstairs to store our bikes while we were there. My brother and his wife along with Jennifer and I truly enjoyed our stay there. When we come through again, maybe even to do this race again, we will be looking to stay at Heathwood. Thanks again, we look forward to another meeting.

Fantastic Month at Heathwood

My wife and I just left Heathwood after a wonderful month. The place is quite surreal! The suite is very private and extremely-well appointed - specifically, there is high quality cookware, dishware, linens, towels etc. They even had several Global kitchen knives for your cooking pleasure. Internet/WiFi was very fast, which was surprising given the somewhat rural location of the property. The location is very private and spectacularly situated with amazing views - a car however is a must. The owners Jacqui and Ollie were very accommodating, often dropping off fresh lemons and pears from their gardens and grounds. They were wonderful hosts and left us our privacy while at the same time answering any of our questions/concerns, though there were few of those. Definitely a highlight rental for us - strongly recommended. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful place to celebrate our 40th anniversary

After a pleasant ride in the countryside, we turned up the driveway for our stay in the Courtyard Suite.

Beautiful property. Very nice and comfortable accommodations. Quiet. Lots of room for the 4 of us. The view through the living room window and the balcony is restorative with the gently rolling hills in the distance. Seeing the horses out in the pasture, with their guardian donkeys adds to the ambiance. What a picturesque English garden, complete with a pond and and fish. Jacqui and Ollie have done a fantastic job on landscaping this garden retreat. Friendly greetings from well behaved tail-wagging dogs. We enjoyed the short walk up the road on Sunday morning for the church service at ST. STEPHEN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, a quaint little historic white wood-sided church with a warm welcome. A short drive to John Dean Provincial Park, where we enjoyed a late afternoon hike on the trails. Would definitely consider staying at Courtyard Suite again. Will be recommending it to our friends.

Absolute perfect place to stay!

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay, this is it! We flew directly into Victoria which was minutes from Heathwood and so easy to find. Jacqui and Ollie are absolutely delightful, knowledgeable and so funny! We totally enjoyed ourselves and loved to come home after our busy days of exploring the beaches, wineries and the town of Victoria and Sidney by the Sea. Our cottage was super clean, had everything we could ask for and more. Their attention to detail is awesome! The bed was so comfy and linen was just like home! We were greeted with a great bottle of wine to sit and over look the valley and the snow capped mountains of Washington. Their dogs made us feel right at home and I must admit they were much more behaved than ours - ha We went to the local farmers market and mingled with some lovely people as we sampled the bakery goods and crafts. We purchased fresh salmon, home grown corn on the cob and brought it back and put it on the grill one evening. We can't say enough about the food at every restaurant we visited. So delicious. We felt completely at home, relaxed and private. The gardens, plants and flowers was like an oasis in the country but close to everything. Do not miss spending time at Butchart Garden, an absolute must see. You will be so glad that you stayed at Heathwood. We always rely upon reading reviews before we choose where to stay! Read all the reviews and know that they are accurate and the pictures are exactly what you will experience. The best part is getting to know your hosts, Jacqueline & Ollie. Beautiful estate close to Victoria

My wife and I along with her brother and his wife spent a week at this beautiful location. It was our 40th wedding anniversary. All of us would recommend this property to anyone visiting the Victoria area. It was great to get away to a quite beautiful spot away from the city. We had a very relaxing week that began with a nice bottle of wine that was provided to us when we arrived. Jacqueline gave us the tour upon our arrival explaining everything about the property.

The space was very clean and well stocked with anything one might need. The gardens at the Estate were very beautiful. We were very close to Butchart Gardens which is one of the most beautiful places we have visited. Also, we were close to Victoria and Sidney. Both places were great for eating and shopping.

The one thing we were not aware of before arriving was that one bedroom and bath was downstairs. Having the bedrooms on different floors provided more privacy making it very nice for two couples. While the bedroom was nice, the bath was quite small. In particular, the shower was small. While the shower was functional, it might have been better if it had been equipped with a shower head that could have been used as stationary or hand held. Also, the lighting around the sink and mirror could have been brighter. Even though the downstairs bath was not perfect, this is still a wonderful place to stay.

Staying here was a great choice to celebrate our anniversary. It was a wonderful week that we will remember always. Jacqueline and Ollie did everything to make our stay so nice. If you are looking for a quite place outside Victoria with wonderful hosts, we would recommend Heathwood.

Beautiful, tranquil estate

We, my 3 girlfriends and I, spent 5 days, 4 nights at Heathwood in the Courtyard Suite and it was wonderful. Jacqueline and Ollie are the perfect hosts. The suite is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen is stocked with gadgets galore, pots/pans, glasses/mugs a coffee pot and a french press coffee pot. Each bathroom comes with toiletries and luxurious towels. The one thing we didn’t realize, so I’m putting it in my review, is that one of the bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs. The bathroom downstairs is rather small but functional. The shower stall in this bathroom however is very small. We spent almost all of our time on the deck enjoying the view and the quiet. Jacqueline greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the grounds and the suite so we knew where everything was. We were also treated to a wonderful bottle of wine upon arrival, chilled and ready to drink. Heathwood is close to everything; stores, restaurants and the water but you would think you were miles away. I highly recommend this rental for anyone visiting the area.

Ollie and I so enjoyed hearing the laughter coming from your patio, it was unquestionable that you and your friends were truly enjoying spending time with each other. I am sorry that you found going down to the second bedroom and bathroom less desirable. The second level which is also at grade level allows for complete privacy . Although the bathroom is not as large as the bathroom on the main floor it is in fact, 11.5 feet in length just under 6 feet in width and the shower is a standard size of 38 x 38. Most of our guests appreciate the newly renovated and spotlessly clean bathroom. It is my intention to have floor plans of our suites included on our web site. Our goal is always to provide an immaculate, comfortable and relaxing home, and to help our guests to enjoy a memorable holiday on this beautiful Island. Comfortable and a great location

We had the pleasure of staying 5 nights and found that the accommodations were perfect for our needs. The owners went above and beyond what was expected to make every need met, even allowing us to use an "extra" room for storage while we were there. The property is stocked with everything needed to be self sufficient and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The property has amazing,views, is quiet and close to anything you need to get to. We look forward to coming again and enjoying more of what the area has to offer. Thank you for a perfect setting among the gardens of Heathwood.

The famous Butchart Gardens is a 5 minute drive.

The Brentwood Inn, and Spa is a 3 minute drive, Well worth

pampering yourself. They also offer an excellent Sushi bar

The town of Sidney-by-the-sea, is10 minutes away, enjoy the many unique stores, and delightful restaurants by the ocean.

The city of Victoria, with its many attractions, is a very easy 15 minute drive.

During our High Season we have a 5 night minimum stay. If we have 4 nights available between bookings please contact us we will do our best to accommodate your request.

PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER FOR RATES APPLYING TO LONGER TERM STAYS. For Long term stays we require a deposit of 30% or your rent and the remainder 60 days ahead of your reservation date. The Monthly fee for the low season is for 2 people please contact the owner if your party is larger than 2 There will be an additional fee for any agreed upon overnight guests of $80.00 a night. If our calendar is not full we will accept a minimum of a 4 day stay during our low season for a cost of CAN $230.00 a night or CAN 1.450.00 a week (7 days)

For a stay of less than one month We require a Deposit of 25% of cost of rent for your stay, at time of reservation
Remaining 75% plus $500.00 refundable damage deposit and cleaning fee of $150.00 to be paid 45 days prior to check in date this refers to shorter stays of 4 days or longer up to a month.
Cancellation Policy a cancellation fee of $150 will be charged to the Guest if the booking is cancelled. If the reservation is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the Check-In Date, the Guest will be charged the full amount of the rent. Should another Guest book for some or all of the rental period, the Guest will be refunded the amount of money recovered less a cancellation fee of $150.00.
