Nice Clean and perfect location
Property needs some trimming and deck tables need removed. I would stay again
Excellent location, charming cottage and convenient to everything.
We had a wonderful time during our stay at Beacon on the Beach. The cottage was charming and comfortable. The military jet’s daily fly overs were a huge plus and they even tipped their wings at us. We have nothing negative to report other than it would have been helpful to have bedside lamps in the bedrooms.
We will book this cottage again. Location and amenities were on spot. The roadside traffic didn’t bother us at all.
How to watch 7 days fly by......
Yes, it's amazing how fast time flies. So enjoy all the quiet moments that life has to offer you as you sit on the deck watching the sun set, listening to the crashing waves and birds singing as they fly over. Wake up in the morning upstairs and 1st thing you see is the Gulf of Mexico awaiting you to do your thing. Fishing was great. It seems the small to medium size sharks won the majority of catches. But also brought in whiting, lady fish, blue fish and a horseshoe crab. All were in the catch and release program. This particular area has many things to do just a few miles in either direction. We made the decision early on to just stay there. Not sure if a follow up visit we would do the same or venture out for a couple days? A couple of things that did raise the eyebrow was having to work with a 3rd party in order to complete the rental. Even though I paid for the rental in full back in March when making the reservation with VRBO, in order to complete the reservation 2 weeks prior to arrival date, I had to sign another contract with a realty company that also said I still owed all the monies. They gave me a verbal on the phone they knew I had paid in full already. That made me feel uncomfortable until the keys were in my hands upon arrival. When sent the confirmation of the address via email there was no info given on how to obtain the keys. Only given the owners name and phone number. She was extremely helpful and nice to work with but all these small concerns leaves a person feeling vulnerable when none of these details were given when I had paid in full 2 months previously directly to VRBO. Most of our week included rain showers each day. Funny thing, the fish didn't care, nor did we. When the rain storm became heavier with lighting we just went inside and sat back to catch up on reading and snacking. As we started packing up Friday night, it was actually sad to think "Island Time" was nearing an end. Anyone who stays here will be going home with a happy heart and many, many memories that will last a life time.
Like your own private beach
Perfect location. Close to everything! My family loved everything about this place. Nicely decorated very well kept. We will be back! We have vacationed in allot of houses and you can tell the owners take pride in the upkeep. The service at the property management company was wonderful as well.
The difference between the photo's and the real thing is very deceiving, don't get me wrong it was very nice but quite small in the living, dining, kitchen area. Also the traffic sound on the back of the house was unbearable at times. The distance and view to the beach were beautiful. Would not rent again!
PS...did anyone report a lost mens wedding band! Found one!
Owners do not provide enough kitchen equipment not enough beach towels and beach house Accoutrements
Property is very small has a bug problem and your pictures of the property provides an overly generous assessment of it. Also the house is right on the road and is extremely noisy, which is not mentioned at all. And it’s a nice enough place but not worth the price especially with Home Away’s surcharge.
I apologize that you experienced bugs. That area had allot of rain that month. We do have a monthly bug program that takes place. Please understand in the future to call the property management company so they can take care of any issues you may be experiencing.
You also stated that there was not enough beach towels. Rental homes do not offer beach towels to their guests however you can request more towels from the property management company.
The kitchen is inventoried every month for equipment. I reported this to the management company to check. They can provide anything that may be missing at at any time.
Thank you for your input
