This home is located at the East end of Mexico Beach. Unlike other areas you can have bonfires on this beach and have a perfect setting for star gazing as there are no street lights in front of this property!! Entire interior painted January 2014, along with new shower remodel. Kitchen remodel 2012, upstairs shower remodel 2014! Entire new floor 2012! New granite kitchen and bath. Newly decorated 2016

What makes this house unique

Bonfires are permitted on this beach! Star gazing at its best with no street lights in front. Perfect location just 1/4 mile from the Central time zone! Beacon Hill is a great area...away from crowded part of Mexico Beach but not as far out as Cape San Blas. Convenient to everything.

Oh My goodness it was like our own private beach. Having the beach right outside our door was luxurious! I have 3 boys and they loved fishing and the bonfires. We are coming back next year. The deck is huge and perfect for watching the dolphins in the morning!

Perfect location. Close to everything! My family loved everything about this place. Nicely decorated very well kept. We will be back! We have vacationed in allot of houses and you can tell the owners take pride in the upkeep. The service at the property management company was wonderful as well.

The difference between the photo's and the real thing is very deceiving, don't get me wrong it was very nice but quite small in the living, dining, kitchen area. Also the traffic sound on the back of the house was unbearable at times. The distance and view to the beach were beautiful. Would not rent again!

PS...did anyone report a lost mens wedding band! Found one!

Owners do not provide enough kitchen equipment not enough beach towels and beach house Accoutrements

Property is very small has a bug problem and your pictures of the property provides an overly generous assessment of it. Also the house is right on the road and is extremely noisy, which is not mentioned at all. And it’s a nice enough place but not worth the price especially with Home Away’s surcharge.

Owner's Response: I apologize that you experienced bugs. That area had allot of rain that month. We do have a monthly bug program that takes place. Please understand in the future to call the property management company so they can take care of any issues you may be experiencing. You also stated that there was not enough beach towels. Rental homes do not offer beach towels to their guests however you can request more towels from the property management company. The kitchen is inventoried every month for equipment. I reported this to the management company to check. They can provide anything that may be missing at at any time. Thank you for your input

The power of a wide angle lens

If you're looking for a relaxing place that's away from the touristy stuff Mexico Beach is the place to stay. The proximity to the beach is excellent and the beach itself is well maintained. We had very little seaweed in comparison to St George Island. The beach was truly the highlight of our trip. The photos on the listing do a great job of selling the house. When we arrived we were surprised that it wasn't bigger. The kitchen is tiny and doesn't fit two people working in it comfortably. There is very little counter space and the utensils and cookware need updating badly. I thought the king size beds were comfortable but my husband disagreed. The place needs a good deep cleaning as there was of dust dirt built up in corners and behind TVs and under the beds, etc. The dining room furniture is a bit uncomfortable and too large for the space and the living room furniture is run down and needs replacing. WIFI & cell coverage is spotty throughout the house. The overall décor and ambience of the house is relaxing and nice. We took a couple of day trips to Destin, Panama City and to St. George Island. It was nice.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your response. We check out every comment and situation as this is very important to us to keep this a top rated home. We had the property management company check and report back on every issue. Deep clean: although it was weeks after you checked out till we received the response the cleaner and inspector went by and check every corner of the home as stated that although something may have been missed before your stay they found no accumulated dust tat the time of inspection. We do have deep cleans performed twice a year. During High rental season it can be challenging with all the activity In the future please contact the property management company immediately and they will send someone out to take care of any issues. WiFi & Cell Coverage: We have no control over cell phone coverage due to phone model and carrier. We frequent the home 4-6 times a year since 2006 and have had very few instances. WiFi: If there are storms there can sometimes be short temporary issues. Again please in the future contact the property management company and they can have any issues checked out immediately. We have not had any complaints in the past on this issue. Living room furniture: All of the furniture is within 2 years old. The inspector went out and reported the only issue was the cream leather chair when the leather was rubbing off. We have ordered a new one to replace this and it should arrive in the next couple weeks. cookware: the inspector checked out all cookware and noticed that previous tenants had left less than par extra pots and pans. Those have been disposed of. The current pots needed a scrub cleaning and has been performed. I will be down in October and if needed will replace anything that needs to be replaced. Beds: All of the beds are less than a year old and were well over $1800 each. All were reported in good standing. I apologize they were not to your liking. tiny photos: I have to say I have never had anything but great comments on photos living up to expectations. We also provide a room sketcher and slide show. We are having new photos updated to reflect the new decor. As we do take very comment seriously and put every effort into making this a top home (we are also one of the property management companies most taken care of homes). I understand that it may not fit everyone's needs. I will be done in a couple weeks to look at all things and make adjustments as needed Thank you!

Lovely area lovely place. We will definitely be renting here next year. This home is so cozy. The beach is so private. Perfect getaway for my family.

Exceeded expectations!

Usually you know that the photos will not live up to the place when you arrive. This was not the case here. My wife and children had a wonderful time. The home is extremely well taken care of and the property management company said the owner wants to know of anything at all that needs attention. They said this is one of their top rated, a well taken care of places...well you can tell!! The location is perfect. Away from the crazy area but conveniently located right in the between 2 towns. Restaurants are nearby! There is a new sidewalk that was in place so if you like to walk its very convenient!! It was great watching the dolphins off the deck in the morning while drinking coffee. Just a beautiful area and home. We definitely will be a repeat renter. Can't wait to come back, we already booked our fall trip.
