About Joe Giusti
We live in the main house and welcome guests to stay in our cottage. My dad left the house to us when he passed and we have poured our hearts into this place. We recently transitioned from the Sacramento area to full time residence in the Santa Cruz mountains. We have tried to make it a place of peace, serenity and love. Our sincere hope is that people will come and feel the same way we do.
Joe Giusti purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Joe Giusti chose Scotts Valley
This is an amazing place....the house sits on 50 acres of forest in the Scotts Valley area. You can step out the door into the orchard or hike to the top of the mountain. It's quiet with many of the amenities of home yet close to town and family-friendly entertainment. It's the perfect place to get away and de-stress.
What makes this Cottage unique
Close to town and boutique wineries, 10 minutes to the beach boardwalk. Winters are cozy by the fire, great for snuggling or watching dvd's. Summer sun streams through the skylights making the house bright and airy.

Loved the location, the comfortable charm of this cottage. Owner Frannie is very helpful and went out of her way to be so.
Presious spot in the redwods
We were two couples on our way to a meditation retreat. This lovely spot in redwoods was just the transition tonic that we needed. Cozy bedrooms, warmly furnished. Nice living room space and dining table, Outside dining under the trees was heavenly. Close to some lovely parks with huge redwood tree nearby, Delightful to be so deep in the woods and close to any needed shopping.
Joe was a fabulous host. Generous, friendly and available when needed.
Excellent place to get away without "getting too far away".
We stayed with Joe for two weeks in May after a grueling 2 months packing our house for a move. The respite was just what we needed -- close to parks for walking, hiking and close to Santa Cruz for more fun at the boardwalk, restaurants. I was able to continue to commute to San Jose while my husband explored the surrounding area. Very peaceful but comfortable. Far enough away for rest and seclusion but close enough to whatever we needed. Joe is an excellent host -- available when needed but not intrusive.
A Wonderful Retreat
It is truly a "Quiet Mountain Retreat" and very welcome at the end of a day of driving and exploring area sites. The location was peaceful and quiet and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Joe and Fran were warm, friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful with information about places to see and how to get there. The patio is as relaxing as it looks with hummingbirds entertaining us at the feeder as we relaxed. I highly recommend this listing and would return in a heartbeat. Thanks to Joe and Fran for their hospitality.
Quiet & Peaceful
Great place, quiet and relaxing.
nice place in the woods
Very good experience. Very kind owners, especially when we accidentally damaged a screen door. A few things to know: The owners are in a house immediately adjacent, so the patio area is not exactly private. And the kitchen does not include an oven or a full stove or a full refrigerator nor freezer. There is a toaster, two hot plates, and a mini fridge.
