About the property

Wonderful family home with the feel of a cabin!

Perfect location in a beautiful, wooded Bend neighborhood known as 'first on the hill'. The property borders both Broken Top and Tetherow- walk to both for cocktails or dinner. Take a 5 minute stroll across Cascade Lakes Scenic Highway to the Deschutes River; we often take a light picnic for lunch or dinner- beautiful. Campbell Cabin is a 10-minute bike ride to town and across the street from the Athletic Club of Bend (open to all for a $15 daily fee-). The 4 bedrooms accommodate up to 8 people and include 2 master suite plus two other bedrooms. The upstairs suite has a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub and private balcony. The 2 bedrooms each have a queen bed and share a bath. The large upstairs family room is a great place for games and movies. Fully equipped kitchen, dining area and living room with gas fireplace are downstairs. The house has a beautiful outdoor setting complete with a gas firepit. Sit on the patio and make memories for years to come. 50' TV is in the upstairs family room...we have added Cable TV and have ROKU and Apple TV so you can access NETFLIX, . Free Wi-Fi is via Bend Cable. Enjoy the good sized yard on this 1/4 acre property for summer time fun. This property is great for those who really enjoy family, friends, the great outdoors and peaceful surroundings in the perfect Bend location. Borrow our bikes or rent bikes locally. It is a wonderful town for bike riding! This home was built by a top Bend contractor for his family; it includes quality details and a beautiful layout. Golf is legendary in Bend and the top courses are available to all. Check out, in particular, Broken Top, Tetherow and Widgi Creek. Please enjoy our home!

About Diane Belanger

My three girls- who are now grown- and I discovered Bend in 1998. We love it. I spend as much time as possible in Bend, balanced with my consulting business which is based in San Francisco. One daughter lives in Sisters with her husband, one is a Duck (class of '15), and one is in school at UCLA. We gather in Bend often and hosted a wonderful family wedding in August of '13.

Diane Belanger purchased this house in 2011

Why Diane Belanger chose Bend

We call our Bend home 'The Campbell Cabin'. The minute we saw it we knew it was perfect. The neighborhood is peaceful and friendly and sits on the edge of both Tethrow and Broken Top golf clubs...both are a short walk-and are open for drinks, dinner or golf-even for non-members. I often walk across Century Blvd with my evening cocktail down to the river (a five minute walk) for a little fishing and ride my bike to town for breakfast (I like Sparrow and Strictly Organic). The location is perfect...on the way to Mt. Bachelor and out the front door are endless hikes and fabulous mountain and road biking...no need to drive. The Athletic Club of Bend is across the street and you can buy a day-pass to use this superb facility for about $15.

What makes this house unique

We love this home because it has the feel of both a cabin and a comfortable and casual family home; nothing too fancy or dainty. The minute I arrive, I begin to relax. The four bedrooms include two suites, each with their own bathrooms (one up and one downstairs) and two bedrooms that share a bath (both are upstairs). The big family room is upstairs; we call it the 'Tree House' because it looks out into the trees. The washer-dryer is upstairs as well. The kitchen is just great with a table made by a local craftsman. The house totals about 3,200 square feet. The yard in the back is perfect for lounging or entertaining. It also has both a large gas fire-pit, a small, enclosed wood burning fire pit and Weber charcoal grill. Perfect for a family with children or an extended family since there are two very separate areas to 'hang out'- upstairs and downstairs.

Guestbook comments from the manager

My wife, son and couples friends stayed here the week after July 4th. Bend in the summers is vibrant and sunny. This house was well maintained, very spacious and had a great backyard for our 3 year old to play with his cousin. The location was perfect, I rented a mountain bike from Pine Mountain Sports ($50/24hrs) and was able to ride it out the back door to Phil's trail system. We were also able to get into town in 5 minutes, or head up to the lakes (we did Elk Lake, call in advance if you want a pontoon boat) a short drive away. Diane was great to work with and provided everything we needed before checking in.

Definitely staying here again when we come back!

Very nice house and location

  • 4 of 5

The Campbell Cabin (aka Westbrook Meadows)is a very nice home that was perfect for our recent vacation in Bend which included our family of 7 adults and 2 small children. It is located in a nice neighborhood near all the fun things there are to do in Bend. We would definitely rent it again. I gave it 4 stars because the back patio and yard needed some attention.

Owner's Response: Kathleen Thank you so much for your review and input. Our Gardner had not been by due to a mis communication in scheduling. So sorry for the little overgrowth on the back yard grass. We also look forward to your next visit. Thank you so much for the great care you took of our property. You make renting out the property a great experience. Diane :)

Beautiful Snow weekend in Bend

  • 5 of 5

The house was great. It had enough room for my family and dealing with Diane was great. She was very responsive and even mailed some things we left behind the day after we left at no charge. Like I said very responsive. The house was very clean and in good shape. They had had a water leak that Diane told me about so it was no issue. Only thought is a few more cooking utensils, pans and cookie sheets etc. Other than that I highly reccomend.

Wonderful for family

  • 5 of 5

The beautiful home in Bend was perfect for our family to stay for a week as we were in the area for a wedding close to Redmond. We had 10 of us including 2 children under the age of 5, including my youngest son who was with us just for a couple of days before being deployed to Afghanistan. Lots of space, inside and out, with many games, bikes and etc. to use. We loved being close to the river where we walked to almost every day. Loved the Bend area as we had never been to Oregon before. Cannot tell you how much time I spent on the front porch.

Could not have been a better home for us to enjoy. We will remember this time forever.

Thanks for sharing your home with us.

The Cannedy family.

Perfect family get away.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for my Dad's sixtieth birthday and it was perfect. The Cabin is exactly as advertised. Very nice neighborhood with an ideal location not far from downtown and in the direction of Mt. Bachelor. The Cabin is very spacious and open, perfect for a group/family get away. It also has a large backyard that would be perfect for the warm seasons. Highly recommended.
