Property description

Welcoming lakefront cabin sits on the point overlooking the lake, large front yard and no neighbors within 100' either side. front lawn and perimeter lighting for nights by the fire pit and watching the sun set. main bedroom with queen size bed. Wooden walk ways connect the out buildings. a full equipped kitchen. washer and dryer and shower. wood stove inside and also wall heaters make it nice in the evenings. a covered porch for lounging or meals and picnic table is another benefit. the u shaped docks and moveable dock make it nice following the sun or for kids to play and jump around in the water. in the summer time the water level drops and there is a nice beach that wraps all around the front of the property allowing shallow wading and splashing for younger kids. the house is supplied with over a dozen of life jackets, inner tubes, wakeboards, and other sorts of water fun. The water supply to the cabin is processed lake water, that means the washer, toilet, shower, and sinks. We supply a water machine for drinking and cooking water. Most lake houses out here are set up that way due to the remote access and the limited resources. The Cabin is boat access only!!! What does BOAT ACCESS ONLY mean?- that means that there are no roads to drive on to get to this cabin.
To get to the cabin there are some options.
1. You can rent a boat. For boat rentals, contact Ringo's Lakeside Marina 541-759-3312. Let them know you are renting masts cabin. they can point you in the right direction when you leave.
2. You can bring your own boat
3. You can arrange for a water taxi to take you to and from the cabin. Ringo's can do that for you for usually $20 a trip. Keep in mind, in case of emergency, you may be stranded.)

Tenmile Lake is a large, recreational lake near the city of Lakeside in Coos County, Oregon. Tenmile Lake is actually two lakes, North Tenmile Lake and (South) Tenmile Lake, which are connected by a short canal. The two lakes combined offer 1,958 acres of pristine water and 42+ miles of shoreline for a wide range of outdoor activities. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks Tenmile Lake several times a year with hatchery-bred trout to ensure great fishing on the lake. Tenmile Lake provides boat ramps, docks, a fishing pier, and a fish cleaning station for those visiting the lake. It is also a great place for family fun with gazebos, picnic areas, playing fields, and ample parking. One of the main attractions of the clear, blue water is its fish. For many years Tenmile Lake has been deemed one of the best bass fishing lakes in the state. Local and regional bass clubs have been holding tournaments on the lakes for years. Salmon, steelhead, rainbow trout, bullhead, perch, crappie, and bluegill can also be found in the lake. Tenmile Creek, which flows out through the southern Tenmile Lake to the Pacific Ocean, is perfect for salmon, steelhead, sea-run cut throat, and Chinook. The Chinook begin running up stream from the ocean in September and continue through November, followed by steelhead. In the spring, the creeks fill up again as the fish make their return trip to the sea. In addition to fishing, Tenmile Lake offers crystal clear water for boating, swimming, sailing, waterskiing, and paddling.

Ringo’s Lakeside Marina is available to rent small boats or you can enjoy the fishing dock and try your skills at catching largemouth bass, steelhead, black crappie, yellow perch or rainbow trout along with other fish species.

Approximately one half mile North from Lakeside, and located off highway 101 is Spinreel State Park. Although the park is best known for its access to the 40 miles of recreational sand dunes, it provides one of the best entrances to the creek. Spinreel also hosts five of the best fishing holes on the creek.

For outdoor activity, there are mile after mile of hiking trials, cycling paths, sand dunes and state land to explore. The Umpqua Lighthouse State Park is just North of Tenmile Lake and is centered on a stretch of towering sand dunes protected by the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Many of the wind-sculpted dunes reach heights of 500 feet or more. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area extends for 40 miles along the Oregon coast. Formed by the forces of wind, water and time, these dunes are like no others in the world. The dunes are the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America, and they hold numerous opportunities for adventure. The Recreation Area offers unlimited opportunities for off-highway vehicle use, hiking, photography, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding and camping. The Umpqua River Lighthouse sits above the sand dunes entrance to Winchester Bay.

Wildlife species found around the area include, elk, deer, beaver, raccoon, opossum, river otters, muskrats, nutria, red and gray foxes, bear, and cougar, majestic bald eagles, osprey and great blue heron as well as several duck species.

Major events during the year begin on Mother’s Day weekend starting with the Crawdad Festival in May on Mothers day weekend, its spectacular 4th of July celebration, which includes a street fair, entertainment, Tidewater Tail-draggers Remote Control Air show, and the new Steam boaters gathering in july also, The Neil Donegan Drag Boat Races in August. Bass Tournaments go all year long.

For even more fun and excitement, North Bend/Coos Bay is just 10 miles south and offers plenty of nightlife and the Mill Casino Indian Gaming facility. Ocean fishing is only a few miles away to the North in Winchester Bay where you can launch your own boat at a public ramp or rent a charter boat from local marinas. Reedsport has the largest skate park on the coast, the Umpqua Discovery Center and and the Elk Reserve just 1 mile East on Hwy 38. Florence is 33 miles to the North of Lakeside and offers some great golfing and old town Florence with board walks and crafty stores and restaurants.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: The brothers Rodger, Ron, and Randy purchased this for a place that the families could meet and take a break from the day to day activities. the cabin is centrally located to where we all live making it very accessable to them. they moved to oregon from the midwest in 1949 and lived in the valley for approximately 10 years before moving to the coast. where they worked in the paper and log mills for another 10 years before starting their own buisness in 1969.

Why the Owner Chose Lakeside, OR, USA:
This cabin is a true piece of paradise, the atmosphere, location and the lake regulars make it such a get away and a treat to be here. once you arrive you do not want to leave. it is like being on your own secluded island. it brings out the kid in everyone

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
What made us really appreciate this property i think is the closeness it shares with others on the lake and the remote feeling it gives without driving hours and hours away from home. the best i think that this property offers is the closeness and welcoming feel. it overwhelms you. after a full day of wakeboarding and inner tubing with the kids and family settling in and bbq on the front porch then sitting out on the observation deck watching the sun set over the lake is just........... AMAZING!!!!!!! then to wake up in the morning and sit with a hot cup of coffee as the fog lifts off the water to start a new day. nothing can beat that.......
