I would definitely stay here again!
My friend and I took our boys(8,9) to Destin for Spring Break. We were able to get to most places by golf cart provided, which was nice. We took advantage of the beach chairs, beach toys, umbrella, fishing poles, & bikes in the storage area making it convenient to entertain.
Release a relaxing breath upon walking in the door!
Just walking in the door, the sight before you says lay back and relax, you're on vacation! The beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. We loved having the washer and dryer to keep up with the laundry of the 7 of us. My teenage daughters were in love with the vanities in each bathroom. The golf cart was great! In the shed there were body boards, sand toys, beach chairs, umbrella, even some bikes. Our trips to the beach were even more fun because of them! When we weren't on the beach, there were movies, books, and games to occupy us.
Great place with awesome amenities
This was an amazing stay! My family has never been to Destin before but we had a blast. The beach house was super clean and fully stocked with everything you could ever need for your stay. The golf cart was an added bit of awesomeness. It was totally cool that the resort had a golf cart tunnel that went to the beach! The house was stocked with beach toys, boogie boards, bikes, etc. As a mom, the washer and dryer was a must! Thanks for an awesome vacation with awesome memories of Destin!
We stayed here the last week of August and loved it!!! The golf cart was such an amazing attribute. We have a two year old and to load him into a car seat just to go to Baytowne is such a pain, so this helped tremendously. The house is so cute and has everything you could need. Thank you so much Amy for letting us stay here. We can't wait to book for next year!
Definitely gets the job done, but could be better.
We had a great stay, but there are a few things I would have liked to have known before we stayed here. Here is the good and the bad.
First impressions are huge for me. We pulled up to a golf cart with a duct-taped seat and a rusted patio table that was thrown to the side on the front patio. That was a tough welcome. The back patio was a tad better, but not much. Things were out of place, messy and just could have used some care. We did not go out on the back patio once. It certainly was NOT inviting. The availability of pots and pans were few, in fact my husband bought a skillet the first day there, so we could make more than one egg at a time. Finally, probably the most disappointing to me was the fact that the owner said the pool was right across the street. If I had small kids (which I don't) I would have been very upset. You can walk to the pool, but saying it is across the street is a huge exaggeration. Sometimes we took bikes or the golf cart. It wasn't far, but you can't even see the pool from the place. Since she said across the street, I thought she literally meant across the street. Finally, we tried to contact the owner about getting in early, but there was no response. She never did return my text. We really felt we were on our own once we got there!
I was VERY happy with the cleanliness and the decorating of the inside of the house. This was the most important to me. We felt comfortable and at home. There was plenty of seating and the kids enjoyed having their own space. Having the golf cart was awesome! In fact, it would be tough to stay there without it. We went to the Baytowne Wharf 3 times during our stay. The trip to and from the beach was easy, but you definitely couldn't walk!
Overall, I would actually stay here again knowing what I know. I think this would be a harder place to stay with smaller kids because there just isn't much room outside.
Our yard, as you drive up to our home, is well manicured and maintained. There is a pretty shabby chic medallion decorating the front of the home which is the first welcome to our guests. The golf cart seat suffered a tear. It is being replaced with a brand new one. It had to be ordered and installed. The golf cart is in good, running condition and use is not impacted. We do have a table placed in a corner on
the front patio that we use to put sunscreen, sand toys, etc. on when we come in from the beach. We inherited it from the previous owners and have always viewed it as purely functional. Now that we have read a comment about it, we will replace it. Our kitchen is very well stocked: pots, pans, casserole dishes, baking sheets, hand mixer, etc. We cook our entire Thanksgiving meal for our extended family there each year. I will check with our housekeeper to ensure multiple skillets are on site for guests. The only items on the back patio are a grill and table and chairs. The table and chairs are attractive and in good condition. The set is visible in photos on our VRBO page. Our home is one of only a few with a private, fenced backyard in the resort. It has pretty grass and mature trees which provide lovely shade. The home is on a safe, quiet cul-de-sac. The location of our home is easily located and reviewed on a map on our VRBO site. Families of all sizes - and many with small children - praise our home and its location. They have given it 5-star ratings for the 5 years we have owned the home. That means a great deal to us as a family who enjoys sharing our home with other families. We strive to be responsive to our guests as the vast majority of our reviews reflect. We encourage people to communicate with us via VRBO messaging and appreciate input that helps us to ensure everyone an enjoyable, relaxing stay.
UPDATE: From my housekeeper: "There are plenty of pots and pans there. They must not have looked in the cabinet."
Great family house!
We loved how accessible the house was with great amenities (bikes, beach chairs/umbrella, golfcart, etc). The kids have their own room and washer/dryer helps! Closely located to the beach access and Baytowne Wharf. 20 min drive to Destin, 20 min to Grayton state park, and 25 min to villages of Watercolor, Seaside and Grayton. Perfect location and very clean. We loved our stay!
