About Gwen McVicker
Ron and Gwen McVicker are the Owners of Linwood House and the Carriage House. We built this beautiful Victorian estate as a place for our family and friends to come and get refreshed and restored. We added the Carriage House in 2008 and after numerous requests have finally opened it up to vacation rentals. Linwood House is our home and we are passionately committed to creating a place of beauty and peace.
Gwen McVicker purchased this Cottage in 1997
Why Gwen McVicker chose Sunshine Coast D
In 1997, we came to the Sunshine Coast to visit my brother and as a lark I mentioned to the real estate agent that I would be interested in a 5 acre property nestled in the woods with a beautiful Victorian manor. He happened to have just the property. We fell in love with it the moment we saw it. After purchasing the property we expanded the house to 8500 sq feet and added the Carriage House a few years ago.

A cozy retreat, nestled in the forrests of Roberts Creek.
A gorgeous carriage house that is beautifully crafted and decorated. Gwen and Ron truly made us feel welcome on their property, which is an amazing sight.
The photos do speak a thousand words in this case. We were completely happy with our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.
Thanks, it was a pleasure meeting you. We would love to see you again, Gwen and Ron
A lovely sanctuary
What a beautiful space-inside and out! Our hosts could not have been more gracious. Daily explorations of the coast and then back to this lovely setting!
Lovely to meet new American soul mates...delightful guests.
A very special property that is in amazing wooded glen on the Sunshine coast with a gracious owner.
The property is exceptional and the description accurate and true. The architecture is remarkable and the gardens and estate very well maintained and developed. The owners Gwen and Ron were gracious and helpful with all of our needs.
We found Robert's Creek a great location which is very close by care or a reasonable walk with an excellent restaurant, shops and great beach.
We will plan to return and explore more of the area.
Gorgeous Home in the Forest
Such a beautiful home away from home. Comfortable beds, all the accessories you need for a stay. Spotlessly clean. New BBQ, lovely patio and pond in the back. The hosts are great people and explain everything when you arrive. It is a carriage house so they are nearby if needed, but you have all the space and privacy you could want. I'd love to stay there again when I get back to the sunshine coast.
It is always a pleasure to host such lovely guests. We look forward to future visits.
Quiet and beautiful retreat
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Linwood House. We were there for a golf tournament to the neighboring golf course and just loved the proximity. Pictures are truly representative of what the house offers.
Owners were fantastic! Would go back in a heart beat! Thank you Gwen and Ron!
It is always a pleasure to host such wonderful guests. The guests treated our home as if it were their own, with such care. We look forward to their next visit, Gwen and Ron
Beautiful & Peaceful Cottage, Close to Everything
We spent 10 days at this lovely Carriage House in Sept 2016. The interior is beautiful, and there is a little patio and pond out back to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The house is about 5 minutes drive from Robert's Creek, which has an excellent restaurant and cafe and some beach to enjoy, and only around 20 minutes from both Gibsons and Sechelt, so it is great for exploring all that the Sunshine Coast has to offer.
Linwood House and the Carriage House are located on the stunning Sunshine Coast. An outdoor enthusiasts dream awaits as well as a well developed artists community with private galleries and studios. Accessed by ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, Roberts Creek is just 20 minutes from the terminal. The Carriage House is located at Linwood House in Roberts Creek, nestled in a 5 acre forest and surrounded by beautiful gardens, springs and ponds. The Carriage House is the perfect get away for a family who enjoy beach-combing and hiking or the writer looking for the perfect inspiring peaceful location. Unique and delightful restaurants abound - from the best fish and chips at Sharky's to waterfront fine-dining at Chasters.
