I'm 60 and born in Bruges, I love to receive guests in a fantastic place, in the very middle of the old city center, very quiet and near to all the most important things to visit in Bruges.
Anne-Marie Tetaert purchased this apartment in 2012

A hidden germ in the center of Bruges
It’s hard to know what to add to the glowing reviews already posted about this accommodation except to say that they’re all true. Communication was friendly and payment arrangements smooth, and while we did not meet Anne-Marie, Eddy picked us up at the train station and gave us a good introduction to Brugge and the apartment. The house is lovely - spotlessly clean with comfortable furniture and a very well-equipped kitchen. As others have said, it is surprisingly quiet given its very central location. Wireless internet was generally good although the speed did tend to fluctuate. Eddy was not able to drive us to the car rental agency at the end of our stay but paid for our taxi. We had high expectations for this stay and they were met!
We will forever be grateful to Eddie and Anne-Marie for their over- the -top -thoughtfulness. Eddie began by picking us up at the train station, which was doubly appreciated, since we were not feeling well. He gave us a wonderful history lesson on the way to the apartment, pointing out special sites to see, in addition to restaurants and places to simply while away some time with a glass of wine. Anne-Marie met us at the apartment and gave us a full tour...it's spectacularly large, by European standards, and light, airy and beyond pleasant! The furnishings are tasteful and attractive, with interesting pieces of art all around.
Because we were not well, we wanted to cook in the first night and you can possibly imagine how thankful we were to find all the ingredients for a simple meal already provided! Unfortunately, we missed just exactly how to turn on the induction range and Eddie was kind enough to drop everything and come over to show us...undying thanks to him for that!! We fixed our simple dinner and listened to the beautiful CDs they provided for dinner music! Eddie also recommended a pharmacy, where we went the following day to find the amiable pharmacist, who set us up with cold aids.
At the end of our visit, we were uncertain about how to purchase train tickets to Brussels and Eddie, after picking us up and driving us back to the station, came in with us, manned the ticket machine and produced our tickets in about one half the time it would have taken us!
In closing, not only is the apartment the nicest and largest VRBO in which we've stayed, but you will never find nicer, more accommodating owners...this is a five star property and one can tell how proud they are of their lovely Bruges...and justifiably so. I could go on and on, but suffice it to say, do not hesitate to rent this fabulously located apartment, in the heart of the city, but so very quiet, when inside!
I arrived in Bruges sick and miserable with bronchitis. Eddy and Anne-Marie not only found me a doctor right away, but Eddy drove me there, translated as necessary (they did speak good English at the clinic), drove me to the pharmacy, waited while the prescription was filled, and then drove me back to the rental, where Anne-Marie was waiting. More amiable and compassionate people you are unlikely to find. While I napped on the couch, they gave my daughter the tour of the property which is updated and modern. Had I not been ill, I would have appreciated the sparkling wine they left for us! There are at least three restaurants along this little alley, and it is correct to say that you cannot get any more central. Thanks for all your help, Eddie and Anne-Marie!
What an apartment! We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was in this charming Bruges rental.
The location is perfect; the apartment is spacious and clean; the bathroom is SO un-European with a double sink, large shower and roomy feel. The living area was comfortable and the refrigerator was stocked with lovely things we consumed during our stay. The apartment is exactly as it looks in the pictures, only better. Eddie was terrific to work with. Do yourself a favor and book with him. You won't be disappointed! I want to go back!
Perfect apartment in the perfect location. We loved our stay right in the heart of Bruges. The apartment was beautiful and it had everything we needed and more. Eddy and Anne-Marie went above and beyond our expectations. From meeting us at the train station to showing us around Bruges to having everything just right at the apartment. We cannot thank them enough for making this a wonderful vacation. We would definitely stay here again.
It all started with Eddie meeting us at the train station and Anne-Marie at the apartment - what a nice welcome! We loved the location (lots of stairs, but definitely worth it) and the quaint charm of the street. Our hosts were absolutely delightful, accommodating and most informative - cannot reiterate enough good things about them. So thoughtful to leave goodies in the fridge for us to enjoy. Two Canadian ladies - seasoned travellers - each had our own room which is a treat in Europe. Spent six nights and will cherish every minute. Have recommended to friends and would love to come back some day. Thank-you so much, Eddie and Anne-Marie.
