nice condo with great location
Pictures didn’t do it justice !
Had a great time and would highly recommended this spot to anyone. We had loads of fun in the town hitting the slopes but it was nice coming home to a spacious home, fully equipped and perfectly located near everything.
Great space, great view, easy check in and out
Great space, great view, easy check in and out. No issues at all.
Fun and comforting
The overall complex is nice and quiet. The unit we stayed had 3 areas of concern: #1 - the condo had a strange odor, #2 - the down stair bedroom (in the back) was always cold, and #3 - single ply toilet paper. Otherwise the condo was spacious and good for two families of 4.
Decent Place, A Bit Tired, Bad Management Company
The condo is a decent place with a good amount of room for everyone. The 2 bunk beds in 1 bedroom was great for the kids. 3 bathrooms is nice. Good closet space. The living room TV is great, with Netflix and Amazon Prime. The kitchen was decently stocked and the knives were pretty good for a rental.
But the condo is definitely tired and worn. The coffee pot could cause a fire because it doesn't turn off automatically. You have to remember to turn it off.
The Wifi is terrible. Thankfully the TV is hard wired to the router, so Netflix worked. But more often than not we couldn't get the Wifi to work. We rebooted the router and modem several times. That made it difficult for the kids to use their iPads and the adults to use their computers in the evenings. I know Wifi is usually terrible at Mammoth. So this is not specific to this property, but it's still an issue.
Grand Mammoth Resorts is pretty bad. Their form emails are straight from the 90s and are confusing for guests. They didn't stock the condo properly before we arrived... no trash bags, no dish towels. And you have to call the "Emergency" Line to get any help. I wouldn't call no trash bags an emergency, but unless you want me ruining the trash cans and making a mess, I think we need trash bags. The check in is really late (5pm) and the check out is really early (10am). And it's annoying that they add another fee on top of the VRBO fee, so they can pretend the rental costs less than it does. The price quickly climbs once everyone tacks on their fees. What happened to Vacation Rentals By Owner??? VRBO is just a platform for management companies today.
Of course, you get what you pay for and this place is listed at a competitive price. Many places in Mammoth cost a small fortune per night. So I'll give it 3 stars. It's decent, but you'll definitely deal with some headaches.
Hello Scott, Thank you for taking your time to review your stay. We want to apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. We have notified the management team about the trash bags, dish towels, and the inconvenient check out times. We sincerely apologize and hope to provide a better experience. Thank you.
The property was nice, complete kitchen, cozy, close to the mountains and in a nice neighborhood.
Overall experience was a B grade. The only discrepancies I have was the neighbors dogs(4-Big dogs). I’m a dog lover but the neighbor opens his door in the morning and just lets his dogs rush outside. They approached my 10yr old niece barking at her and that made a lot of us nervous. Another issue we had was not having towels day one. We got there and towels were no where to be found. After calling 3-4 numbers and going through three different offices, we finally got a hold of an “onsite manager” who gave us towels very late in the evening. Other than those two things I felt the property was beautiful with amazing views and a very lovely neighborhood. I would book in this neighborhood again, but a different house.
