The Hawaiian Pacific Ocean: In Hawaiian, Nui Kai means 'big sea', and that's what you get with views of the ocean from nearly every room of this 1,200 plus square foot luxury two bedroom condo, furnished in upscale "Island" decor. The unique feature of the property being the 'outdoor room': This large outdoor lanai offers a large sofa sectional, a tiki bar and a "high top" dining table. All of this overlooking a sweeping view of the ocean and reef below.
The Living Space: The large living room/dining room offers upscale furnishings and artwork, cable television and DVD/CD. Adjacent is a fully appointed kitchen with stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator.
The Bedrooms: The master bedroom features the romantic Hollywood style 1940's "Hawaiiana Décor" with king-sized bed, cable television, and a desk. The second bedroom features rich dark mahogany furniture with light colored walls and flooring, with queen bed, and a desk.
The Views: The Diamond Head view is to the east and to the northeast is a gorgeous city scape with beautiful Kapiolani Park in the foreground and the beautiful skyline of Waikiki, Honolulu and the Ko'olau Mountains in the background.
The Building Grounds: features a large oceanfront lawn with chaises for sunning, and dining tables for an ocean-side meal. Slightly to the south of the lawn is a sea ladder that descends directly into a swimming area in the sparkling Hawaiian waters of the Pacific Ocean. Slightly to the north of the lawn is a small sand beach with access to the reef.
Parking: Complete your Oahu adventure with the convenience of a parking space for your rental car in the basement of the building for only 15 dollars per day.
Ammenities: Beach Towels, Beach Chairs and Beach Umbrella are provided to all of our guests at no charge. Full Coin/Credit Card Laundry Facilities in the basement Laundry Room are available and the condo has everything you might need for the perfect vacation!

About Rick Prill
Our love of Hawaii began 20 years ago. After years of coming to the islands we decided to buy a studio so we would have a place to be. One thing lead to another (mainly, we found a building on the ocean that we loved!)...and we ended owning several vacation rentals in our building on Waikiki's Gold Coast. We stay in our units 3-4 times a year and are constantly maintaining the decor, updating amenities, painting, and keeping them in the best condition possible for your stay!

Why Rick Prill chose Diamond Head - Kapahulu - St. Louis
The reason we purchased our condos in this building had to do with location. It is perfectly situated at the edge of Waikiki in Kapiolani Park. Located on Waikiki's famous Gold Coast, the condo building sits on the water with ocean on one side and park on the other. We like the location because although Waikiki and all the hustle bustle are just a 10-15 minute walk from the condo (along the park and the ocean), we are just far enough away for it to feel less hectic, more peaceful and MUCH quieter. The views of the ocean, city skyline, moutains, park and Diamond Head Crater from the apartment have to be seen to be believed!!

Views, Views, Views! Ocean Access steps from the building's lobby level......and the private Lanai in the sky, which is an outdoor Living Room, Dining Room and Bar all in one!!

Location and view was awesome!
Beautiful sunset views from the lanai and a short walk to all the action in Waikiki. I was a little concerned about sharing one bathroom with 3 people but it worked out fine. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the lighting is very low and I need light to see in my suitcase and the window unit ACs were loud but they did the job. I would stay here again.
We are so happy that you loved the "Nui Kai" experience, and all the magic it has to offer! We try to keep a variety of high wattage light bulbs in a bin on a shelf in the master bedroom closet for people who prefer brighter lighting, since most of our guests like the dimmer "Polynesian Mood Lighting". We appreciate your feedback and will add a paragraph to the guest guide with more specific information for people to be able to customize the lighting to their own tastes. The air conditioners in the bedrooms are both brand new, but the signage on the door frame about cracking the screen door a quarter inch is important because the screen door can rattle if it is right up against the door frame. We are so happy that you want to return to Nui Kai for a future stay....thanks!
Wonderful condo with great location
Condo was as advertised...beautifully decorated with gorgeous views. We liked the location-close to Waikiki but on the quiet side. We enjoyed some awesome restaurants within walking distance.

The location and the view are superb. Apartment is well stocked and maintained and clean.
Definitely would recommend as a good place to stay in Waikiki.

We loved our stay in the Diamond Hotel and Residences. Our 9th floor unit had a fabulous lanai with comfortable seating, table and chairs, even a little Tiki Bar. We slept out on the lanai one night of our stay—we had a full moon, and it was quiet enough in this area of Waikiki that we could do so. The kitchen was very well equipped, the furnishings were all comfortable. This is a beautiful unit all around, and we hope to stay there again on our next trip back to Oahu.
Thank you for the great review of our property - the lanai on the ocean is so special - glad you found the twin sheet set up for the lanai sofa cushions in order to be able to sleep outdoors with the sound of the waves and the glow of the moon over the ocean!
We have stayed many times in the Diamond Head Beach Resort and this was the best. Very nicely decorated. The second bedroom is not accessed through the main bedroom which is a nice plus. We would stay here again as long as it is available. Thanks for a beautiful unit.

Considered by some to be the best location on Oahu, the peaceful Gold Coast offers incredible restaurants, swimming, snorkeling, the beautiful Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo and the Aquarium. And all of this is only a few minutes walk to the many restaurants and outrageous shopping of Waikiki.
