About the property

This condo, which is conveniently located on a high floor with its private balcony offers you expansive views of the beautiful Ft. Lauderdale scenery. From the comfort of your own bed one is able to enjoy views of ships passing on the inter-coastal waters and a breath-taking view of the sunset every evening. The unit comes fully-furnished with a recently renovated kitchen. In the newly renovated kitchen there is also a seperate faucet which filters and purifies the drinking water in order to diminish the need for bottled water. Also, there is a 40' LCD HDTV mounted in the Living Room as well as another TV for the bedroom.The kitchen contains everything needed to relax and enjoy your stay. All outside walls contain floor-to-ceiling special impact resistant tinted glass, to enhance your already magnificent views of Paradise. While the spectacular views enjoyed from the unit are of the intercostal, Ft. Lauderdale lights, and the tranquil sunset, the building is located directly on the beach. Our guests are able to enjoy a gorgeous beachfront property that is situated directly on the sand.

The Galt Ocean Mile is a protected setback mile where visitors as well as residents walk, jog, bike, shop and enjoy Palm-Tree lined mile, without the need of a car.

Perfect Location

This was a great spot for our stay. We were within walking distance of everything. We flew into the Fort Lauderdale airport and were a $10 Uber ride to Scott's condo. From there we were able to walk to the grocery store, liquor store, and many restaurants. The condo is right on the beach and Scott has sand chairs available so that you don't have to rent some from the hotel. The pool is also accessible, although we opted for the beach the few days we were there. There is an in house Italian restaurant, and a Tiki bar with happy hour specials. Lauderdale by the sea is about a 15 minute walk with lots of restaurants, bars, and cute local shops. We highly recommend Tropical Krave and Sloan's ice cream. We also spent a day in Fort Lauderdale downtown. We opted to take an Uber as the walk is around 20 minutes - but totally do-able if the weather is decent. Scott was great about communication and getting back to us with any concerns. He met us there when we arrived to show us quirks of the condo so that we'd be best prepared for our stay. Every thing was clean and orderly.

Our favorite part of the condo is location, but the second was the availability of a kitchen. I have celiac disease and it makes it difficult at times for me to find options to eat out. As such, we enjoyed making some of our meals in the condo. Everything you could need for a kitchen is available to you (pots, pans, coffee maker, blender, etc.) Scott even has some of the essentials for making meals (spices, coffee, etc.) Highly recommend.

Great location!

This condo was a perfect spot for our sisters weekend! The condo is located right on the beach and was within walking distance to restaurants, shops, grocery store and starbucks. We did not need to rent a car on this trip, we either walked or took Uber. Scott is a fantastic host, he even let me check in a few hours early so I could decorate for my sisters birthday. The food at the tiki bar was so so. It was nice to have the option to be on the beach or hang by the pool.

The condo is super comodo, and the location is excellent!!!

Great location

We loved our stay! Scott was great to work with, he showed us every detail of the condo. The location was great, right on the beach! Condo was clean and well kept. The view of the city was beautiful. Lauderdale by the Sea was just down the road & was a great place to visit! I would highly recommend this condo to anyone.

Disappointing

The host does not belong in this line of business. We were treated like idiots and criminals from the first interaction until the end of the trip. We paid $40 extra for an early check in and were told to arrive at 10:30. At 9:45 I received an aggressive phone call and a text stating our room was ready and he was "waiting" for us to arrive. It's great that the room was ready early, but you can't expect people to drop everything and show up 45 minutes earlier than the arranged time. The 4 of us that were staying in our room arrived in a car with 2 other friends who were staying in another unit in the building and came in on the same flight as us. For some reason the owner, Scott was convinced that we were trying to sneak other people into our room. He was extremely rude about this even after we told him multiple times there were only 4 people staying in our room. After 15 minutes of that drama, we wasted 30-45 more minutes of the beginning of our vacation on a tour of the room and the property. This was completely unnecessary and there is no reason that we needed to be shown how to turn on water, told not to keep the balcony door open, how to obtain chairs at the pool or not to use a certain light too much because it was difficult to replace. To top it all off, at the end of this tour, he pulled me aside one more time to threaten me, saying that he hoped we didn't cause him any problems and to ask one more time who was staying in our room. The Icing on the cake was that we also had to meet him at the unit before checking out so that he could do a walk through. He told us everything looked fine, but he had to do a more thorough check. Every other VRBO we have stayed in we have never seen the owner. Maybe this would be the best practice for your future business.

Accommodations wise, the room was fine for the price we paid. The biggest issue was noise from the hallway and the room above us. It was very difficult to get any rest. Another weird issue was that all of the water in the apartment was yellow, including the water from the shower. The decor, carpet, towels could all use an update, but once again for the price we paid it was about what we expected.

Bottom line. There is a reason the Ocean Manor was on Hotel Impossible. If you're a late 20's/early 30's group of girls, this rental is not for you and I would not recommend this for more than a few nights stay for anyone. Luckily we weren't in the room much and were able to make due.

Owner's Response: Obviously, Five-Star Excellent Reviews by over 20 previous guests were wrong, & this one guest with some misguided anger issues is totally incorrect. (1) I tried to lessen their almost 6 hour inconvenience without a room, by offering a very early check-in. When the apartment was cleaned and ready, I simply texted them of its immediate availability. Since I personally meet and greet my guests, I need to know when they plan on arriving, so that I'll be there for them. Previous guests appreciate this extra personal touch but not in this case. (2) Anyone who owns a home knows that there are certain things that work differently and need a simple explanation on how it operates. Previous guests appreciate this extra effort to personally explain things but not in this case. (3) When these guests arrived, there were 6 people. My reservation said 4. Obviously, these guests have not been in the apt. rental business. As an owner/manager, I simply needed to clarify the reservation. I have had previous guests attempt to "sneak" in additional people. Thankfully, it did not occur here. I tried to inform them about the apartment, the hotel, the area. Previous guests have suggested how patient, helpful and polite I was to them and their family but not in this case. These guests feel I was too personal and two informative. To my future guests, please read all my reviews, especially this one and you tell me who is wrong.

Since the building is a condo/hotel the amenities are numerous. The multitude of amenities begin with the private beach/ocean. Boat rentals (wave runners), pool (adjacent to beach), Tiki Cafe restaurant (serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner), Tokyo Blue (Fine Dining and Lounge), a Beauty Salon, Coffee Shop located in the lobby (which runs 24hrs.), Snack bar, Free Wi-Fi, and a Laundry room in the building. Anything else you could possibly need is also located right across the street.

For your convenience, Drug Stores, a Supermarket, Cleaners, Pizza, Fast Food chains, Banks, Physical Therapy, Doctors Offices, Restaurants, Beach ware and beach accessory Boutiques, Lauderdale by the Sea and Public transportation stops are all located within a short walk along the 'Galt Ocean Mile.'

Local amenities and attractions which are also a short ride away are Pompano Race Track and Casino, Golf, Las Olas Blvd. with its restaurants, several ocean front boutiques, Stores, Beach Place, Riverfront, Sightseeing along the canal on the Water Taxi and much more.
