About the property

A one of a kind location - this property offers beautiful mountain views and easy access to hiking, mountain biking, and 4 wheeling. We are a mile above the historic mining town of Montezuma, up Webster Pass, but still under a convenient seven miles to Keystone Resort. The apartment is located over our garage and you will have private access. It is a one bedroom with a great room and private bathroom. We do have two dogs that live on property. Come share our 'little slice of heaven'.

About Tom Major

We are long time (25 year) locals who came to Colorado to ski bum, but never wanted to leave. This is our 'dream' home that we built in 2001. We feel fortunate to have been able to purchase the property and build the home in such a beautiful and unique place and look forward to sharing our experience with guests.

Tom Major purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Tom Major chose Dillon

It was the only place we wanted to live in Summit County.

What makes this apartment unique

super clean, well appointed, very comfortable

  • 4 of 5

My friend and I stayed a long weekend at the apartment. It was perhaps the cleanest VRBO I have ever stayed in. The decor is tasteful and interesting without being overwhelming. The furniture and other appointments are comfortable and added to our enjoyment - comfy couch and chairs for TV viewing, very comfortable bed with lovely sheets, generous bathroom with a great bathtub and shower. The sofa bed wasn't too comfy, but that's to be expected. We used the kitchen a ton and enjoyed eating our meals in the apartment. It was easy to find - Tom's directions were perfect. Only bummer for us was no deck to hang out on. We really enjoyed our time there! Thanks!

Great mountain experience

  • 5 of 5

The rental space was clean and had everything I needed. The location is convenient to Keystone and A-Basin, but make sure you have a 4WD vehicle to get there, as it's well past Montezuma and the roads may not be well plowed.

We thought it was a nice, quiet mountain getaway. It was so peaceful and restful. We would definitely recommend it. Friendly and accommodating owners! Thanks Tom and Erin!

Spectacular scenery

  • 5 of 5

If you want seclusion, solitude and spectacular scenery, this is the place to be. My husband and I spent a week here, and are sorry we have to leave. Erin and Tom are great hosts - and we highly recommend staying here. Great hiking trails just across the road - Erin and Tom's friendly dogs even "adopted" us and went on hikes with us.

The accommodations are way off the beaten path - but there is no lack of creature comforts - Dish TV, internet connection, etc. Even the bathroom is great. My husband is quite tall, and sometimes has to stoop under the shower head. Not here - the shower head is installed high enough that my tall hubby can comfortably shower.

I had been concerned about the air quality given the wildfires in Colorado this summer. No worries. The fires are not at all close to Montezuma, and the air was crisp and clean. An SUV would be ideal, but we managed fine with our regular sedan. My only word of caution would be to plan your arrival for daylight. We arrived late at night, and it was hard to find in the dark. My husband was familiar with Montezuma, so we found it, but I would strongly recommend a before-dark arrival. I also strongly recommend staying here. I know we will be back.
