About Ed Desobry/Cathy Pickel
My family has been going the the area since 1945 when my great grandmother purchased a vacation home. The house survived many hurricane's but after Katrina we were forced to rebuild. My Dad decided to move closer to the beach. In 2007 we purchased the current location and began building a new vacation home that we could enjoy for years to come. We completed the home in 2009. We decided to allow others to enjoy the home and lease it as a vacation rental.

Why Ed Desobry/Cathy Pickel chose Waveland
After being in Bay Saint Louis in Cedar Point for over 60 years my family decided to move closer to the beach right down the street to Waveland. Having the beach to enjoy the gulf has been a great decision. When everyone gets together everyone enjoys going down to the white sandy beach.
What makes this House unique
The over 5000 square feet under roof house has many indoor and outdoor spaces. With three bedrooms and a large loft this house can accommodate up to 11 people. We spend countless hours on the ground floor enjoying the family time or having our morning breakfast on one the porch over looking the Gulf.

The house was great! The beach is nice. Will definitely be back!
wonderful family vacay!
Waveland is a great spot for a family vacation. We enjoyed the property. Lots of steps, but we knew that from previous reviews. It was not a problem for us. The home had everything we needed. Our hosts were quick to respond to all issues, so we would stay again in the future for sure. We basically had our own private beach, which the kids loved!
Love this house
This was our second stay here and loved it as much as the first. Hated to see hat there was a for sale sign in the yard!
Terribly deferred maintenance - house is for sale and neglected.
There is nothing I like less than writing a negative review, and it happens so rarely on VRBO. But I feel the need to warn anyone considering this rental.
What a disappointment this was for our family. The house looks like at one time it was lovingly cared for and a perfect beach house, but the for sale sign out front indicates those days are over.
Some of the issues we encountered were bugs/termites crawling around the third and fourth stories (including the beds); a horrible smell of natural gas that permeated the second story; no courtesy soap in any restroom (which I guess we should have prepared for, but as frequent renters, we’ve become accustomed to most vacation homes providing at least very basic toiletries); no linens on one of the beds; rusty bikes that were unusable; a grill and grilling area that were rusty, dirty, smelly - we did NOT want to put food on it - yuck; overall very shabby and run down (the couch is missing upholstery in multiple places, walls are marked up and dinged, bannister is broken and missing posts, bed was propped up in cement blocks, the list goes on when you looked around).
Needless to say, we were just so bummed to have what was supposed to be a great family gathering be overshadowed with the condition of the home we were staying in.
The only plus was the location. Really easy to get to a very uncrowded beach.
Overall, I would NOT recommend this home to anyone else.
Comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood
We (extended family ages 2 to 61) enjoyed our stay at this house. The living area is large and has lots of seating so makes a good gathering place. The appliances all worked just fine. The decks were so nice to sit out on and the beach is a short walk away. The beds were comfortable. The house does have a lot of steps to get in and also between floors so wouldn’t work for someone with limited mobility.
Very roomy! Lots of space under the house and yard for games. Had fun playing corn hole! Made some good memories!! Thanks for a comfortable stay.
