We were skiing in Aspen in the winter of 1978 and decided to drive to California to get out of the snow for a few weeks. We drove from northern to southern California and on the way landed in Laguna Beach for a mere 48 hours. As a designer, I have a keen eye for beauty and I fell in love. We went back to New Jersey, sold our historic 5000 square foot home on 2 acres and moved with our 4 children and my mother to our home in North Laguna Beach. After enlarging our 1930's 'Laguna Charmer' we settled in and over 30 years later, even after traveling around the world, we still feel like the luckiest family to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Our well loved home provides a unique opportunity to experience the real Laguna, as it is located in a special part of town with an eclectic mix of architecture and landscaping, wide streets, tall old trees and easy access to everything. It sits on a beautiful street just high enough to get a look at the ocean and feel its cooling breeze - yet my spirited 85 year old mother was able to walk to everything, every day. It is easy to get away from the bustle of town when you want to - or be in the thick of things when you are in the mood to shop, gallery browse, dine, dance, walk, swim, people watch - just about anything is at your footsteps.
Our completely private treed corner lot is cool and comfortable even on the warmest days. Authentic Laguna, peaceful and private, yet close to everything.
We had a great stay in such a beautiful equipped house, perfect location, nice rooms, very well decorated with a lots of era, very nice owners looking well at there guest, we also enjoyed the beautiful garden, terrace in front of that historical house.
Alfresco dinner supported by the very well equipped kitchen and BBQ on the terrace was a must.
Walking distance to the beach and the city center for shopping in the very nice Laguna Beach town center.
I will certainly go back there without any doubt.
Special thanks to the owners for making our stay very special.
My husband and our 2 kids (ages 7 and 9) had a fantastic time at this rental. The house is spacious, yet very warm and homey. The north Laguna neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, safe to stay with kids, and a nice walk to all of the shops and restaurants in downtown Laguna. The weather was amazing and we were able to walk to the beach with the kids and enjoy the Earth Day festival along the boardwalk. The owners did a great job in preparing the home for renters - we were well-stocked with toiletries, kitchen items, and comfortable linens and towels. There were plenty of thoughtful touches to make our stay enjoyable. My favorite part of the rental though was the beautiful garden, so tranquil and quaint, complete with a firepit that was great for an evening hangout. Overall, I'd definitely recommend staying here, well worth it, especially if you are looking for an authentic Laguna experience.
My husband and I stayed at this absolutely charming home in Laguna Beach and we could not have been more comfortable! It is charming beyond description and you must really see it to believe how beautiful it really is. Every comfort was available and we simply brought a suitcase full of casual beach wear and we were set for a month! We walked to town most days and enjoyed the sites through the beautiful North Laguna neighborhoods. We look forward to our next visit to this little piece of heaven on earth!
15 to 25 minute drive to beautiful Dana Point Harbor, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Fashion Island, Newport Beach or the Newport Pier.
