Nestled in the middle of Gulf Shores, this top story penthouse with almost 2000 SF was built far onto the beach and offers unparalleled views of the water. In fact, the other developments sit much farther back than this one does. A large 4 season porch is the perfect viewing point for dolphin watching. The unit has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and room to sleep 10! All cooking and dishware are on site.
Why owner/property manager chose Gulf Shores
After searching for more than a year, we came across this unique property. Most condos are fairly small, but this one offered a 3rd story (complete top floor) view, without having people above. Being located so far onto the beach, we have been told it is the farthest reaching property on the beach. This in itself allows for incredible views of the water. We had little interest in being far back from the water or across the street. This unit was therefore ideal!

First stay in Gulf Shores - PERFECT!!
We ended up being more people than we originally anticiapted. There were 10 of us. Everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the penthouse. The owners was extremely responsive and were able to get us an extra parking spot for the unexpected car. We called them several times when we were looking for the best seafood and also got recommendations for fun local faves. Bahama Bob's was a short walk and had a great burger with pineapple! Been craving it ever since. We were pleasantly surprised at how wonderfully clean everything was and the beds were so comfortable. One of our nephews was already under the weather before we arrived and we ended up in the ER. Once again, the owner was there to give us directions to the best place in town. Not only that, he followed up with us and invited us to stay an extra day for free. Our time in Gulf Shores and the penthouse was amazing. It was great to deal with wonderful people and the view being on the beach was incredible. We are already planning a return trip!! From our family to yours, thank you!
We stayed for my daughter's Senior Spring Break!! It was great it was in a quite area away from all the chaos. The owner is amazing if ever an issue arises and it. This place is a very nice and extremely clean. WE LOVED IT!! We will be back!
Evicted without cause by owner, threatened, harassed, stalked
I was threatened, harassed and stalked before being evicted for no reason given. We come to Gulf shores each year and have stayed at some really nice places but I was looking for something a little bigger this time for our family of 6. The day of arrival, I received the instructions for check-in and noticed there was a section called Number of Guests. It stated there could be no more than 10 people in the condo at any given time. This was more specific than the info in the profile of the condo before renting. It said max 10 guests. So I took that as overnight guests. Being we have family in town, I asked the question about them visiting but not sleeping over. The response seemed a bit annoyed and said it was clearly stated and he wasn’t trying to hide it. I suggested it be more clear on the profile, no big deal. We arrived and there was no hot water in one of the bathrooms, a TV remote was missing so the TV was inoperable and there were no sheets for the pullout couch. None of these were horrible but I did bring them up to the owner via text and some phone calls for him to tell me how to reset the breaker for the water, arrange for a remote to be brought in and sheets delivered. That was fine. I wasn’t upset and everything was good. This all happened on our first day staying. We woke up the next morning and there was a frantic knock on the door. I answered it and there was a woman claiming to be the cleaning crew with sheets. We already got sheets the night before. She said she needed to come in so she could put them in the closet. I said my husband is still in bed so I’ll put them away. Then she said I need to come in to check the remotes. I said we got that fixed yesterday too so we are all good and thanks for bringing sheets. She left. I texted the owner saying that was strange and she really wanted to get in the condo. He replied and said I was in trouble for “refusing her entry” and being rude. He said I had complained too much and I had one hour to vacate and I was evicted. I never had more than 10 people in the condo (we sent our oldest kids outside when our family came over to leave their kids to play) and asked many times why we were evicted with no explanation. He refused to talk to me except to threaten that the police were on their way. The cleaning crew stood outside the condo taking photos and video of me and my children and stalked us as we drove off. VRBO was great, but this owner shouldn't be allowed to rent to people. Horrible.
> Guests were never threatened, harassed or stalked, but they did yell obscenities while chasing maintenance man through parking lot.
> VRBO shows penthouse can sleep 10 and House Rules (same page) state Max Occupancy 10 but guest still overpopulated.
> Guests began complaints before arriving, starting with occupancy limit. Once in the penthouse made fraudulent claims of missing remotes, disconnected TVs, no hot water, etc. over the course of 3 days.
> We owners were the last people to stay in the penthouse before they arrived. None of those items were broken, missing or disconnected.
> Late 2nd night (Sunday) claims of missing sheets for the pullout, apparently they had new guests who needed a bed.
> Next morning 10 am, cleaning crew brought ‘missing’ sheets and tried to investigate all the guest’s complaints. When guest opened door, cleaner saw furniture on its side, sheets all over floor. Guest became rude and closed door refusing entry to cleaner and then to maintenance to address complaints.
After leaving, found disassembled beds, no sheets had been missing, all claims were false, but guest wants refund. Funny.
Stunning Views & Great Location
Amazing view and great location, close to everything. A perfect place to enjoy beautiful sunrises and stunning sunsets. The property was very clean. Parking and access to the beach were easy & convenient. Would highly recommend!
Special Holiday memories on the Alabama coast
This a beautiful location and home. Well-appointed amenities. Amazing beach views and easy access. Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay between Christmas and New Year’s.
We did enjoy this penthouse greatly, especially the enclosed balcony with windows all around.
One downside was how sparsely supplied the kitchen was. We made it work, though some basics like coffee filters and salt & pepper would have been helpful. Also, because it doesn’t have an elevator, we probably wouldn’t return. We did know this going into this decision, however. The pool was very simple but still kept up nicely. The best part for us was how close it is to the beach, to town, and the panoramic views from the sunroom balcony. One final thing is that the floors are uneven going from the bedrooms into the living areas, and it’s not very noticeable. So, you have to get used to this (by stubbing feet). Overall, we loved it.
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay.
When you arrived, you contacted us about your modified vehicle being so tall it would not fit under the building. We quickly made arrangements to accommodate you and all seemed well. Your emails were complementary and kind which surprised us greatly when you reviewed our home with 4 out of 5 stars.
Months after your stay, advising us publicly that the kitchen was 'sparse' doesn't do either of us any good as it is too late for us to be able to do anything about it. We wish you would have contacted us earlier and we could have explained a few items for clarification sake.
The building is 3 stories and has 5 units in it. There is no elevator, nor do we advertise one. The neighboring properties do have elevators, but they are high rises with 3-5 times the number of units we have. They sit back some 50 feet farther from the beach and don't have the views we do, as well as having their beach very crowded where ours is not. So there are pros and cons to a low rise complex such as ours and the crowded towers which by the way have lengthy wait times for the elevators in peak seasons.
As for the salt and pepper issue, the cleaning crews MUST remove any and all food items from the units when they clean. This is for your safety. No food items or anything one could ingest can be left in the condos. We can however arrange to have the condo stocked with food items of your choice from grocery stores by specialized companies. Most people prefer to bring their own groceries including salt and pepper. This is not something we can change, we apologize.
Most homeowners who rent their homes (as we do) to vacationing guests, try their best to accommodate people so their stay will be as enjoyable as possible. We know the area, the best restaurants, which places to avoid and even directions to keep away from traffic. We are happy to suggest places to visit, where to rent beach chairs and arrange for fishing charters. Since we also love the area and spend a lot of time in our home, we enjoy sharing our experiences with those who visit Gulf Shores and the Gulf Coast for the first time...all one needs to do is ask.
We are sorry that the lack of salt and pepper soiled your vacation enough to write about it months later. Next time, perhaps you could contact those homeowners and ask them about such items while you are there. Any homeowner will be happy to help as need be.
Thank you again for your review!
