Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a great time at "Decked Out", the biggest lure, was having a boat and being right on the lake. The home was clean and spacious. I do think the kitchen cookware needs an overhaul, I had to clean to use it. They need to have the trees trimmed so you can actually see the lake when sitting on the deck and an extra fee to use real wood in the fireplace were the biggest downfalls. Overall we had a great time and the home is priced well for a weekend rental.

Beautiful and clean cabin but a few issues...

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is as advertised in all the pictures...beautiful, rustic and clean. Melissa is easy to work with and the location is a nice, out-of-the-way, spot on the lake.

That being said, there were a few issues.

1. As others have mentioned, the trees really need to be trimmed so there is a better view of the lake.

2. We had a major storm during our stay and we had two leaks. One leak was in a bottom bathroom and was attracting numerous bugs which freaked out the user downstairs. Management was called. A handyman was sent. However, he said he would bring bug spray, but never did.

3. There must be other issues with the roof because mold is evident on the wood ceilings in the living room and the master bath. This was brought to the handyman's attention when he came. This needs to be rectified ASAP.

4. The boat's engine only worked on our first attempt. For our second attempt to use the boat, the engine could not start and we notified the boatmaster. We were told someone would come the next day to look at or fix the engine. We were out and don't know if anyone came, but the engine did not work on a third attempt the day before we left.

Wonderful House at Lake Lure!!

  • 4 of 5

Loved staying here. Quiet and Peaceful. Pontoon boat was wonderful to have and great views from dock. Trees have grown so that view from house is very limited. Very clean! Would definitely stay here again!

My brother and I rented for our families to spend vacation together since the loss of our mother earlier in 2016. We had a fantastic stay. The house is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The boat house and deck area was wonderful, we spent several hours each day floating in the lake while the kids jumped from atop the boat house. In the evenings we took advantage of the pool table and great decks on the house. I can't wait until we can return and stay here again. This will be our new go to vacation spot for the summer! The only minor issue we experienced was the internet was not working due to issues beyond the owners control. The owners felt bad that we had to be without the internet so they refunded one nights stay for the inconvenience, which was more than necessary in my opinion, but greatly appreciated. Again, a wonderful vacation for all of us!!!

Peace on the water

  • 4 of 5

"Decked Out" was spacious and comfortable. The accommodations were thoroughly enjoyed by folks ages 10-70. While there were about 50 steps to the water, they were nicely done with safe hand railings as well. The location was fabulous. Such an easy drive, very close to restaurants & groceries. Wonderful cove and quiet cul-de-sac. Having the pontoon boat was a great added bonus. Kitchen & bar were well-stocked. It would have been nice if the under- counter ice maker worked. The owner came as we checked out to remove the 3 giant elk/moose trophies that were on the walls. This is a new plus to those of us that don't shoot animals for sport. We loved sitting on the decks, up in the trees, viewing the water. Summer rain on the tin roof was heavenly. Management team was very attentive and very easy to work with.

Beautiful house, beautiful lake.

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family (couple in 50s, couple in 30s and 11 year old) enjoyed a week at Moose Haven and were so impressed with the property and working with Exclusive Mountain Properties. From the initial booking up until our post-vacation departure, no detail was overlooked and Susan made us feel truly at home. The house is well-appointed with authentic “lodge” artifacts (including a moose, elk and caribou mounts), the pontoon boat was a MUST if you’re staying on the lake and Lake Lure itself is absolutely pristine. A great vacation that I’m sure we’ll repeat in the future. I’ve decided I’m a “lake person” over a “beach person” now! Again, can not say enough about working with Exclusive Mountain Properties. They are a reputable company staffed by professionals who will go ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure your needs are met.
