This homeowner graciously donated a week's stay at their beautiful home in Watercolor to a family living through childhood cancer so that they could attend Lighthouse Family Retreat. The home provided a peaceful escape from the chaos of hospital visits and treatments. The homeowners are great to work with, as well as Sunburst Beach Vacation Rentals. I would highly recommend staying in their home!

Owner's Response: Thanks for sharing your vacation experience at Beachwalk in Watercolor. Beachwalk and Sunburst is more than happy to donate the stay and our services to the Lighthouse Family Retreat. Many of our Home Owners have provided their vacation homes over the years to the Families of Lighthouse and will be doing so in the future as well. Our past Guests have really enjoyed the proximity of Beachwalk to the Watercolor Beach Club, Boathouse and Town Center. We look forward to participating again. We stayed in the home during June. It was a great location, which sold us. However, the pictures were quite old and did not depict the exact condition when we checked in. The refrigerator was not cooling properly, so we had to have management bring an ice chest for the groceries that we bought Day 1 so they would not spoil. This took a good chunk of our first day there to wait for the cooler to be delivered and deal with the problem. The secondary bedroom (brown room we called it) was very dark, the rug was very dirty and stained. The shades around the house were so old and worn that when you drew them closed they would tear very easily. The cushions on the furniture in the den were dirty and stained as well. The thermostat also did not cool properly so we had to call maintenance several times. The home clearly use to be a show place, and were reflected as such on VRBO, but it has been run down. Also, the pictures on VRBO showed a clear view to the little park in front of the house. In actuality, the trees and brush had overgrown so much that you could not see the park and our kids playing there, as what had been sold in the description on VRBO. We sent all of our feedback to the management company after we returned home, so hopefully the issues have been addressed and the pictures on VRBO have been updated to show the actual state of the house. We are not picky travelers, but there were many issues that needed to be addressed - the home needed to be thoroughly cleaned ,upholstery, shades and rugs replaced, etc. If they have addressed all of the issues that we brought to their attention, then the home would be very lovely and a terrific place to stay.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that you encountered problems during your stay last summer at Beach Walk. We at Sunburst Beach Vacations were new to the home at that time and had immediately notified the owner of some maintenance items and some furnishings in need of updating. At the time, the season was in full swing and these tasks had to be deferred to the slower off season. Since that time, the owner and we at Sunburst have had time to address most of your concerns. The owner has replaced all of the living room slip covers. She has also purchased new bikes. The air conditioning system has been inspected and thermostats fixed. The frig has been repaired (issues with the door seal). The rug has been cleaned. The home has also had a thorough deep cleaning. The photos on VRBO have been updated with the exception of the outside shot. The owner has had much trimming done on her property, but indeed the vegetation in this part of the community has matured quite a bit, offering improved shade during the hot summer months. However, some of this vegetation is the property of WaterColor and the owner is not able to trim it. We do hope that you give this home and our company another try as we do care that everyone has the best experience possible.

An off-road paved path parallels all 18.6 miles of Scenic HW 30-A and runs along the emerald green and blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This path winds thru nine distinctive beach communities, state parks, forests, dunes and coastal dune lakes. The paved trail is ideal for biking, hiking, jogging and rollerblading.

As well, approximately 60% of our area is dedicated to preservation. Hikers, bicyclists and nature lovers can enjoy over 200 miles of networking trails that interlace thru state parks and forests that stretch from the Gulf of Mexico to the Choctawhatchee Bay.
