About Audrey McCarthy
We have been married since 2004 and currently have four young children (3 boys and 1 girl). We have lived in several (way too many) states and are delighted to have finally discovered Amelia Island. Our goal is to move here permanently once we retire. Once you visit you will see why!
Audrey McCarthy purchased this Condo in 2012
Why Audrey McCarthy chose Amelia Island
We first fell in love with Amelia Island during a family vacation in January 2011. That short trip changed the course of our lives to a degree insofar as we decided we wanted to make Amelia Island our home after spending only 3 days here. We changed careers in order to allow us to spend more time here and bought our first home near the beach in March 2011. We quickly settled in as part-time residents and made several friends at Amelia Landings. We love the almost 'secret-garden' location, completely hidden from the roadway by tall shade trees and only a very short stroll to the beach and shops. When the opportunity arose to become owners in the Landings we felt that the opportunity was too good to pass up. Our favorite thing about the Landings is the private footpath that leads to the beach and the huge deck on the back of our ground-floor condo and the great layout for having company over or just spending time with the family. We love not having a stairs! Also, it's only a short drive to all that beautiful Old Town has to offer and there are two great grocery stores, mini-golf, ice cream, post office and antique stores within walking distance.

Very clean place.
We loved how clean this place was. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. It was a perfect spot for our family and very child friendly.
Great spot on the island
Nice secluded attached condo with a screened porch. 2 bedrooms and a nice couch. Check in was easy and location is great. Recommend for sure!
Very nice, clean, comfortable has everything you need.
Thank you Audrey for sharing your home, would recommend this unit to family and friends, and would not hesitate to stay again. Many thanks.
Quiet Amelia Island
The condo is in a quiet, heavily treed complex of several buildings. (This condo is on the ground floor so be aware there might be someone above you.). The owner Audrey and the property manager Gabe are very, very nice people. They responded immediately to any questions we had. The condo is well stocked with laundry and kitchen supplies, puzzles and games for kids and adults, and beach chairs. It is literally a 5-minute walk to the beautiful beach with pavilions and restrooms (Seaside Park). The historic district of Fernandina Beach is not to be missed. There is a lot to do for adults and kids in the area. I recommend Ft. Clinch, Kingsley Plantation, an Amelia River Cruise, Beach Diner, Doo Wop Diner, and a Sat. Morning Farmers Market tour and cooking class with the chef of Amelia Island Culinary Academy. I was pleasantly surprised with Amelia Island, and this condo is a great location for all the activities, especially the beach.
Christmas in Florida
This property is spacious, comfortable, very clean and welcoming. The surrounding landscape creates a quiet, calming atmosphere. The location provides close access to the beach and shopping. Definitely would stay again.
Our ground-floor condo is located close to all of the best that Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach have to offer. Amelia Island offers the climate and friendliness that you would expect from North Florida without any of the crowded hustle and bustle associated with your typical beach towns. The island is a well-kept secret among those who have discovered it for themselves, from the wonderful Fort Clinch only a three minute drive away to the spell-binding boating and eco-tours that leave regularly from the town's marina, a 5 minute drive away. After you enjoy your morning coffee and juice you can take a leisurely 3-4 minute stroll to one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. Boasting over 13 miles of golden sand dunes, you will never grow bored with your walks or collecting the most amazing shells, or occasional sharks' teeth. Amelia Island was made for relaxing, and is especially suited to the family vacation.
Although the drive from Jacksonville Airport to your front door typically takes less than 30 minutes...you might as well be in a different world. It is hard to believe that you can be driving down the island's winding lanes with Spanish moss hanging from the oak trees that cover the road, in such a short distance from a major airport. Of course this also means that if you feel like a day at the AMAZING Jacksonville Zoo...you can be there with the kids in about 25 minutes...not bad considering it feels more like you have changed planets. Of course, the antiquing on Amelia Island is second to none and the quaint stores that give 'Oldtown' such a wonderful ambiance will tempt you to while away hours at a time browsing at their treasures.
But, if you feel the need, there are several outlet malls in Jacksonville that are well worth a visit on those rare occasions when the rain falls.
