The other bedrooms have a Queen bed, 2 twins(pushed together), and another twin bed in the 4th bedroom. The living room is light and bright with lots of windows. About Susan Zweig

My family lives in Scottsdale Arizona. It has been difficult for us to visit the cottage in recent years but we try to make it even if it is a short stay.

Susan Zweig purchased this cottage in 1970

Why Susan Zweig chose Mt. Pleasant

This cottage has been in my family for years. I grew up spending my summers in Mt. Pleasant and so have my children. My parents met on the beach while staying on the subdivision in the early 1950's.

What makes this cottage unique

The private beach is unique with the cable elevator and wonderful wood deck. The Rec Hall and park is great for the kids with lots of kids and activities.

Great location, cottage could be kept up slightly better

Great area. Loved the beach. Disappointed with the cottage in general. Needed a good cleaning. Towels and linens were aged and musty . (As well as sheets and comforters) Furniture very old and uncomfortable. Dishwasher not working and we are family of 7 so that meant lots of dish washing. Hot due to only window A/C. We cooked a lot and the kitchen ware was mediocre at best . For the price it was a bit disappointing

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The cottage worked out well for us but unfortunately while we were there it was uncharacteristically cold for the time of year so we only got to spend 2 days on the beach. We were able to cook our own meals but since the only place to have the 6 (2 of which are 3 and under) of us sit and have dinner together was on the screened in porch, we had to bundle up and eat quickly so it didn't get cold. The living room heater also did not seem to work because it was quite cold getting up in the morning. But weather aside, this would have been a great place if we could have utilized the beach everyday because of the private access. We were able to go for walks inside the community and allow the children to play at the playground, which was a big hit with them.

Beautiful Experience

  • 5 of 5

A lovely experience for my elderly mom and I. My sons joined us over the weekend with 2 toddlers. Great family environment! Clean, cozy, and safe! Loved the community! The walking opportunities along beach and neighborhood were terrific! Elevator to beach was a hit! Loved the stairs too! Neighbors were lovely! Wonderful private beach!

Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

We spent 5 days at the cottage with our children, grandchildren, and a dog. Loved the cottage! Plenty of room for all of us. Some liked to stay up late & some got up early. We didn't get in each others way. The private beach was wonderful! Easy to keep an eye on the little ones. They also enjoyed the evening activities at the park. There was no DVD, but we didn't miss it. It was great having wi-fi available. The grill was well-used, but everything else was great! Sue is so welcoming & answered my emails promptly. I would definitely recommend this cottage!

Sister's Week Getaway

  • 5 of 5

A typical family cottage that has been added on to over the years, it was comfortable for a sister's week. A small kitchen, but we only stayed in for breakfasts and one dinner, a screened in porch with papasan chairs to sit and chat, or a table to work puzzles at. Comfortable beds, 2 bathrooms made getting ready easy, and the trolley to the beach was fun, and saved our old knees. The cottage is located a few miles north of South Haven in a quiet subdivision. the beach area was very narrow, but we were told that the weather level on Lake Michigan is especially high this year. I would seriously consider coming again next year.

Sandy Roads and Private Beach

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our boys for a low key getaway. It was a very relaxing quiet area. I don't think that her pictures even do the beach justice. Our 8 year-old bugged us every morning to take our 1 minute walk to the beach. We love the South Haven area. I would recommend the Idler Riverboat for any meal of the day. It is such a small beautiful area. I hope to visit again :)
