Paris' Best! Le Vaneau Apartment sits squarely in the center of the 3 of the most Chic, Quaint and sought after neighborhoods in all of Paris :
The Latin Quarter - Rue du Cherche-Midi, St Germain, St Sulpice, Luxembourg, Sorbonne.
The 7th - Les Invalides, Champs des Mars, Eiffel Tower, Seine.
The 15th - Montparnasse with Artists Studios, Cinemas and Restaurants.
This light and spacious 1 bedroom, is central and just 2 minutes from the entrance to 2 Metro stops--Vaneau and Duroc, and a 10 minute walk from the convenient, main Rail & Metro station of Montparnasse.
It's almost on the corner of Rue du Sevres, having the chicissime Bon Marché just up the street, with it's clothing, home decor and spectacular gourmet food store.
Le Vaneau is also a peaceful refuge, set back, off the street, looking over a courtyard with trees and flowers, so quiet the
3 large, double windows on the courtyard side can be left open day and night.
The apartment is one, short flight up, and features a foyer, an immense living/dining room, and fully equipped kitchen--washer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, large sliding window and bar counter, and 3 stools for a quick café creme and croissant before heading out for the day.
There is also a full sized dining table for long, multi-coursed meals with family and friends.
There is a queen sized bed in the bedroom, and a double sized sofa bed in the salon.
The well lit bathroom/toilet is huge, by Paris' standards, large enough for a bathtub separate shower, isolated WC.
It also has large window that can be left open day and night, bringing the total of windows to 5.
Le Vaneau has recently been completed remolded and modernized--equipped with WiFi, cable TV and has Free long-distance phone calls--but still has quaint, Parisian details and charm!
Make this tastefully decorated, bright, spacious Haven à la parisienne, you're Paris chez-vous!
This VRBO partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
Despite being in a busy and bustling location, this apartment is tucked away and perfectly quiet. We had everything we needed – well, feather pillows would be nice but that's just us being persnickety ;) - and Aaron's detailed information binder was amazing.
This was our 3rd trip to Paris. Our family of 2 adults and 1 teenager stayed at Le Vaneau for 8 nights in July and were really happy with the apartment, its amenities, and the proprietors who were very nice and easy to deal with and made the coded entries etc. idiot-proof to access. Our teen slept on the sofa bed and we had a queen-size bed in the bedroom. The weather being cooler than we expected, we did laundry several times and were grateful for that convenience. Picards, an inexpensive selection of gourmet frozen foods, was a couple of blocks away and we had many microwaved meals for dinner. We took advantage of both grocery stores at the end of our street (preferred Carrefour as it's larger) and saved quite a bit on meals thanks to the kitchen which was small but efficient and easy to keep tidy, especially with a dishwasher.
We felt the bathroom was a generous size for Paris, but my tall husband and I (being shorter and rounder) found the small shower stall uncomfortable. Our teen had no issues. I found the large tub and its modern hand held shower more than adequate for bathing, however. The bathroom (and the entire apt.) was spotless & appeared recently updated and had enough space for towels/kits for 3 people. Extra towels/dishes/sheets - anything you might need is all contained in a massive, mirrored cupboard at the back of the apartment which also held the drying rack for our wet clothes.
The apartment itself was immune from any street noise as it's in a private courtyard. We did have the windows open for much of the time and occasionally found some of the neighbour's dinner parties quite loud as the sounds echoed off the courtyard walls. FYI we felt very safe at all times in this location, not that this was a major concern for us in Paris.
One suggestion for the owner: other that the two-seat sofa there isn't another comfortable place to sit for a period of time. There seems to be plenty of room for an upholstered chair which would have made us even more comfortable. There are plenty of dining chairs for sitting in, however.
Le Vaneau is literally around the corner from the Vaneau metro stop and has easy access to busses, grocery shops, bakeries & restaurants, bank machines, etc. There's even a V'Lib (bike rental) right outside the apartment door! Very centrally located for walking to several sites/areas. We had a lovely time and would recommend this apartment without hesitation.
We visit Paris a lot and usually stay in the 5th Arrondissement, but this time we decided to try somewhere new. Le Vaneau is a lovely, comfortable apartment in a beautiful courtyard building. It is furnished reasonably well (could use another comfy chair) with a very nice Queen bed. The TV was not working and the owners and manager were very responsive, although the problem kept recurring. It did not ruin our stay, though! We loved the 7th and would definitely stay there again - it has such a neighborly, warm feel and is SO QUIET at night. The local bars and restaurants and shops are superb - and Le Bon Marche department store is AMAZING. We took advantage of its proximity and took a tour of Napolean's tomb and the Musee de l"Armee - which is a real find for history buffs. We highly recommend Le Vaneau and will probably stay there again.
Everything was top notch from arrival information and communication, to fully supplied kitchen, laundry and bathrooms in this spacious and quiet apartment. After long days of touring, I loved stepping of the city streets into the quiet, cool courtyard. We were a couple and a 16 year old and had plenty of room with the couch pulled out. The bathrooms were impeccably clean and large for Parisian standards. The location was also fantastic. Super access to metro, shops, supermarket, cafe's, pastry-you name it. I'm coming back!
My husband and I stayed a week in this apartment. The location is superb, with most attractions being a 20 - 30 min walk or a few steps to the metro away. Everything you will need is at most a block away: grocery stores, wine merchant, bakery and cheese shop. Several good restaurants also are on the block. The apartment is very quiet as it is set back in a courtyard. It is well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The owners even thoughtfully provide outlet adaptors for their North American guests.
I have rented other apartments from VRBO over the years and this experience was without a doubt the most efficient yet. The owner was very prompt responding, had a very clear rental policy regarding booking, deposit and payments. Once reserved, I was given clear instructions as to getting the key, etc. Krystyna even phoned shortly after our arrival to make sure all was in order. 100% recommend this apartment.
Stayed for 6 nights and loved it. Very convenient to the Paris Metro, which puts all of Paris at your disposal. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The rental process was easy and flawless. Good shops nearby for anything you might want. We couldn't have done any better. Merci!
One of the best neighborhoods in Paris: one block from the Rue du Cherche-Midi, 50 yards from the Rue du Sevres, the Bon Marché chic clothing and gourmet food stores, the Invalides and the Champs-des-Mars and Eiffel Tower and the active Montparnasse only minutes away, 3 minutes from the Vaneau and Duroc Metro stops, a short walk from the Jardin du Luxembourg, Place St. Sulpice, and St Germain.
