Provincetown is fantastic in the summer, but some feel it's at its best in September and October. Wake up on the beach with a view of three lighthouses in this historic waterfront apartment in the East end of Provincetown. Two bedrooms plus a bonus sleeping area with a daybed, and combined expansive living/kitchen/dining area with water views and great kitchen. Go off the deck directly to the beach without ever leaving the proximity of your home, enjoy the fireplace on cool evenings- even see an occasional whale from the deck! Unlike so many waterfront properties, ours is fully winterized so you can enjoy Provincetown any season of the year! Original wood-burning fireplace plus cozy gas heat make for a delightful stay any time you choose. Please see our calendar for seasonal rates. Or, reserve now for next summer to lock in 2018 rates. We'd be happy to have you!

I grew up in the Midwest, but found a home on the Cape in 1982, and have been living here year-round ever since. The expansive horizon of the waterfront has informed my work as a writer, and countless other artists and writers before me. Provincetown is unparalleled as a place to work, play, raise kids, live alone, find community- it's a special fit for sure, and you've found it. This place- 633 Commercial Street- is it. I'm happy to share it with you.
Melanie purchased this Condo in 2001
Why Melanie chose Commercial Street
This compound, formerly the artist Robert Motherwell's studios, has been inhabited by artists, writers, and various thinkers since it was built in 1900. The neighborhood embodies Provincetown as it once was: architecturally intact, friendly, quiet. But it is the expansiveness and beauty of the harbor- the outside of the building rather than what the building contained- that captured us then, and continues to hold us now.
What makes this Condo unique
Though the festivities of Provincetown are just a short walk away, stepping onto the deck is an exhale without end. Laying on the bed is like being on a boat out of the weather. Its intimate relationship with the water makes this place like no other, as close as you can be to it without actually getting wet!

Location, Location, Location
We had a great stay in a very quiet area of Provincetown. The unit had a nice shared deck overlooking the bay which was perfect for a picnic lunch. Just down the steps from the deck was a nice sandy beach which was ideal for relaxing and watching the kids paddle board. In the evening you could crack the windows and listen to the waves roll in and take in the sea air. This unit was a mile from the pier and was a fairly easy walk both going and coming from town. If you don't feel like walking, the shuttle would stop for us a block away, where Bradley Street, and Commercial Street merged. All you have to do is flag it down and they will stop and take you to town for two dollars. Beds were comfy and the seating plentiful. The "homey" furnishings will make you feel like you're staying with grandma. Our only regret was we did not have more time to enjoy the tranquility of it. Thanks Melanie for a wonderful stay.
We loved having the Donnelly's with us and would welcome them again any time! Thank you for being such great visitors, and come back soon!
Beach house in Provncetown. It was wonderful to walk outside and pick seashells.
A lovely home with quiet neighbors. It was a relaxing place and we enjoyed our ability to make breakfast at home. The only concern was parking, it was tight but we took cabs to the center of town when needed. Overall a great place and we would visit again!
An amazing place to stay!
The unit was great, clean, cozy, with great view of the ocean from the master bedroom. There are two beds with closing doors and a third sleeping area, that has a shared hallway for the bathroom, however this did not inconvenience us at all. The deck is shared by a couple of units, but the other owners of the other units are super friendly and great to chat with. Sharing the deck was not a problem at all, with great and easy access to the beach. A must stay place and we go back again for sure
Perfect for a family
Nice open layout of the living room/dining room/kitchen, plenty of comfy chairs and sofa space. Well worn, older with associated quirks but perfectly comfortable for a family. The view from the condo is amazing and during low tide, miles of walking beach. We will definitely try to come back!
