Why Ed & Diane Grunseth chose Wilsall
We moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Montana to turn the clock back in a rural alpine setting with mountains, water and trees - the Montana dream! We're still near civilization with the towns of Livingston (35 miles away) & Bozeman (50 miles away) that have amenities such as the university in Bozeman, a very good hospital, excellent art galleries and great dining. Our place has allowed us to build and expand our studio, enjoy the outdoors with its abundant wildlife - it's a 24/7 vacation for us!
What makes this Cabin unique
One walk on the property and we were sold because of the one acre pond, Horse Creek running along its border and the heavy Doug Fir forest for us to play in. An additional bonus is the great neighbors doing a wide variety of things from ranching to the arts (painters, writers, photographers & more) to cowboys and the fun and excitement that Wilsall brings with it's seasonal events and just hanging out. And there's road trips!

Great area. Beautiful views. A great place to get away in the whispering pines.
We really enjoyed our one month stay. Ed and Dianne are gracious hosts. The cabin itself is secluded on a mountain side in the pines. Cozy, well furnished with everything we needed for our stay. We loved sitting on the deck in the mornings with our coffee. The extra pleasure of having wildlife come right by the deck added to a great experience. We enjoyed walking the trail up the mountain behind the cabin and seeing the view from the mountaintop. The beautiful cool weather was great for cooking out on the deck and having romantic meals al fresco. From walking the roads and trails to driving the forests to see the wildlife the whole experience was fantastic. Ed and Dianne are planning an expansion to the deck to make it even better. We will definitely be back to experience it though we can’t imagine how it could be better.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay so much! You were terrific Guests to have and we very much appreciate you sharing your experience with possible new Guests. We look forward to you coming back!
CABIN WAS VERY PRETTY
TO FAR AWAY FROM ANYTHING TO DO. CABIN WAS VERY PRETTY. THE ONLY THING THE CABIN WAS MISSING WAS A CLOSEST FOR YOUR CLOTHES. VERY SMALL. NO PARKING NEAR CABIN
Dear Dennis and Sherry,
Thank you so much for staying at our "Cozy Woodland Escape" cabin. We are sorry you experienced such heavy rain during your stay that you had to cancel your horseback riding trip. This has been an unusually rainy Spring and early Summer here in the mountains. We understand that with all of the rain, curbside parking would have been something you would have liked. Being a "Woodland Escape Cabin", we have kept the forest intact by keeping the nearest parking space approximately 100 feet away to the cabin at the private steps that lead up to it. Our Guests enjoy the quiet and seclusion the forest shares with them.
As a result of your feedback, we will continue to create interesting storage amenities as we have in the past such as the half-tree hanging post, the Woodland 5-drawer Dresser, and the luggage rack.
We are always looking to market our cabin in new ways and have a plan to expand the deck this Fall and put a propane fire pit on it with a water resistant canvas sail over it. This will give our Guests better mountain views - we always want to make it special!
Your review has given us the opportunity to fine-tune the experience and we appreciate it very much.
We hope you can come back and have that trail ride!
