About Terri Morrison

A native of New Jersey, family in the Shenandoah Valley brought me to this area every year as a child. They are some of the fondest memories I have. As an adult, I could not imagine living anywhere else. It brings me joy to welcome others to the Shenandoah Valley and share this hidden gem.

Terri Morrison purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Terri Morrison chose Shenandoah

It's private and secluded and close to all of the things I want to do in my spare time. I can unplug, unwind and relax.

well-appointed home

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was stocked well and while we didn't expect such cold November weather, we enjoyed the area. Carl met us to review the house fully and give us our keys. We enjoyed coming back and watching movies and being unplugged. We especially loved the view from the living room -- the morning sunrise and evening sunsets were lovely.

Amazing views! Wonderfully stocked with essentials you didn't know you needed ❤️

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous weekend rental with absolutely stunning views. This home was so well stocked with everything from fresh eggs and butter to a wide variety of toiletries and medicine cabinet necessities. Fluffy white towels and luxurious bedding made it feel like a nice hotel. The cabin was the perfect size for 4 of us. Small enough to keep it cozy and intimate but high ceilings on the first level and a wall of glass doors opening to the breath taking view kept it feeling airy. It was nicely hidden on the mountainside and being at the end, we never saw another car. This was truly an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We only wish we had more time to enjoy the river and do some fishing. I'd love to come back in the summer to go tubing. Can't wait to visit again!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We just got home from spending a few days at this mountaintop paradise ... and I miss the peace and quiet already! The owners provide a little bit of everything you may need, and then some; this was a simply wonderful, comfortable, cabin. The view is spectacular and the sound of the trains, especially in the early morning, are fantastic! Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us! All the best! Jess, Jeff, and Oli (Woof!)

The Perfect Weekend Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Let me start off by saying the road up to the cabin is VERY steep and all gravel/dirt. If you plan to visit in the winter, you must have an AWD vehicle. Any other time, FWD is ok but definitely recommend a truck or SUV since a sedan would have trouble making it up due to clearance.

Once you've made it up to the cabin, you really don't want or even need to leave! The owners have it stocked with just about anything you can think of; we have been to many properties around the world, but have never seen such a cozy and well-stocked property. From eggs to soup to firewood to movies and CDs. Be advised there is no Wi-Fi and no cable TV so this is a true retreat where you come to get away from it all (there's good cell phone coverage though).

The views from the back deck are gorgeous, there's a lovely breeze that blows through with the windows open, and since it's at the end of the road it is extremely peaceful, quiet, and safe. We woke up to the sound of a nearby train rolling down the tracks and deer rustling below the back deck.

The cabin is close to the river below where you can picnic, swim, kayak, etc. There are also many quaint towns nearby with fun activities like wineries/breweries/distilleries, Lavender farms, caverns, natural and amusement parks just to name a few.

The ONLY consideration that would keep us from coming back with a larger group (>4) is that there's only 1 bathroom and it's on the main floor right by the kitchen.

Overall we loved everything about the cabin and the location, especially that we could bring our dog. We would highly recommend a stay here!
