About Terri Morrison
A native of New Jersey, family brought me to this area every year as a child. They are some of the fondest memories I have. As an adult, I bought the cabin as a second home. My family enjoyed the cabin for 10 years before wanting to share this hidden gem and welcome others to the Shenandoah Valley.
Terri Morrison purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Terri Morrison chose Shenandoah
It's private and secluded and close to all of the things I want to do in my spare time. I can unplug, unwind and relax. There is nothing better than getting away from all of the concrete and getting back to nature.
What makes this Cabin unique
It feels just like home, cozy and welcoming. The views from the main living are and onto the back deck are wonderful.

This truly was a good relaxing experience. Away from all the hustle and bustle of the big city.
I would recommend this place for any one especially with family. A little bit out of the way in the woods but well worth it. No TV no internet. Just a nice relaxing time away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My family and I greatly enjoyed our time there. Thank you so much Teri.
Great Views, Quiet
We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way home from upstate NY. Nice and relaxing stay. Spent a lot of time on the back deck with the view of the mountains. Everything was very clean. We'll stay again if we are in the area.
A wonderful weekend getaway!!!
The house was perfect for our weekend stay! We celebrated my daughter's birthday in the mountains with board games, hikes and caverns. We could not have asked for better hosts! Terri and Carl went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and their hospitality was greatly appreciated!!!
Welcomed Guests Rather than Strangers
Terri and Karl made our family feel like welcomed guests in their home. We have rented many homes over the years and have never even close to the same experience. From the beautiful decorations and cozy blankets to the well stocked fridge and pantry items, we had a fabulous weekend. Terri was so easy to communicate with and responded quickly to my questions prior to booking our stay at this lovely cabin. Carl met us at a time that was convenient and walked us through the property, providing details on how things work. Many thanks for a great weekend unplugging with my 3 teens! Although the place is small (which we wanted in order to just be present with one another), I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to unwind, recharge, and connect with those they love.
Perfect Mountain Hideaway!! Walk to the Shenandoah River, enjoy Amazing Mountain View!
Loved this Mountain Hideaway! Comfortable bed! Beautiful view! Clean, comfortable and private cabin! Enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning! The view is Incredible! Well stocked kitchen with all the comforts of home. Great grill & firepit & laundry room too! Highly recommend!!
Beautiful and relaxing
This house has everything you need for a quiet getaway. The kitchen and bathrooms are stocked, the linens and beds are wonderfully comfortable, and the view is absolutely spectacular. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed here for a week and fell in love with the area. The property is at the top of a hill with a drive that can be a bit steep with a few switchbacks - no problem for our Jeep & we thought our car could make it if we had taken it. It's the last house on the road. The neighbors house can be seen through the trees but no noise from them the entire week. There is a train that you can hear several times a day but just the train, not the horn.
The mornings were enjoyed on the deck overlooking the trees while drinking coffee (Keurig, electric tea kettle, and coffee maker available, as well as KCups, sugar, creamer, etc.) We spent our days hiking in the National Forest, kayaking the Shenandoah River, and visiting the Luray Caverns. Our nights were spent at the house, grilling out and making s'mores over the campfire. The owners provided wood for the fire and charcoal for the grill. Late nights were movie, game, or reading nights (plenty of DVDs, board games, and books available.)
If you're coming for a week, no need to pack that many clothes as there is a full sized washer and dryer in the lower level (there is detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets but we brought our own.) That area also has a couch and chair, pub table, and kid games, books, and toys. Kind of a perfect teenager hang out if you have a few of those creatures.
No WiFi but it was fine for us as we wanted an "unplugged" vacation.
There are several Food Lion and Walmart locations within 10-15 min of house so groceries are not a problem. The owners had a little snack basket ready for us upon check in & the kids thought that was the coolest thing!
Communication was great through emails and texts. We had no problems during our stay so really no need to talk until we checked out.
You can tell the owners care about the people who are renting their home by the little touches. It doesn't feel like you're tip-toeing around someone else's house, it feels like "home away from home" and we highly recommend this home.
As a fun little side note, we found a little buddah (?) statue in one of the drawers on the first night and had fun hiding it in each other's rooms/backpacks/etc to find. Just silliness, but still a good memory. We hope you enjoy your stay!
