Great outdoor living space- patio furniture by the grill with seating for 8, hammock, serene views of the water and passing boats from every seat. Trees and shrubbery give this property a peaceful and private feel. Quiet neighborhood for biking and walking. 1 mile walk, bike ride, or ride to public beach.
Scott and Sally have been enjoying this home since 1973. Sally's family built it in 1969. They love the peaceful patio overlooking the flowing river and the many boats travelling up & down. The small, private beach is perfect for digging clams, shelling, launching a kayak or raft and just sitting and relaxing. Menauhant Beach is a straight one-mile walk or bike ride and great for swimming. Sally learned how to swim there many, many years ago! They often take their bikes on the Shining Sea Bike Path to Woods Hole for an ice cream or cold drink. Also, every summer they ride their bikes to the Ferry that takes them to Martha's Vineyard for their annual excursion. There are restaurants, grocery stores, ice cream stands and coffee shops within 1 1/2 miles of the house.

We loved this property! Our hosts could not have been more thoughtful & accommodating. The house feels like a real family place (which it is) and the grounds and little beach feel perfect for relaxing. We rented the whole property including the extra apartment for an extended family including a toddler. Many amenities (boat, bikes, fully equipped kitchen, indoor fireplace, lovely outdoor seating, firepit, chairs to watch the sunrise over the pond...) Everyone agreed it was wonderful, we kept saying what a perfect find all week! It felt 'real', uniquely welcoming. Beautiful location, comfortable accommodations. Taking the pretty way along the shore into Falmouth is recommended. Convenient for exploring further out along the peninsula. Would return in a heartbeat, we felt as if it was ours. I LOVED the moss garden, the little beach overlooking the pond, the bird life and the brick patio.
Our family, including myself, my son and his wife, my daughter and her husband, and my 4 grandchildren had a wonderful time staying at this spacious, private, waterfront house. The owners were gracious and very welcoming! The yard is huge and plenty big enough for my very active 6 year old grandson. My 2 1/2 year granddaughters loved playing in the sand and wading in the water of the private beach. We all loved walking and riding bikes in the quiet neighborhood and sitting out on the backyard patio enjoying the beautiful view while toasting marshmallows over the fire pit :-) All this and only a mile from a beautiful ocean beach! So much to do in the area - we had a blast!
Better than we imagined. Owners were terrific- friendly and accomodating. The house is a well loved home where everything was high quality and everything needed was available. The location is special- private while seeing the river flow- always boats to watch. Nice yard for kids or just sitting. Close to falmouth sticker beaches and shopping.
