About Jennifer and Gregory
Jennifer and Gregory love living in in the picturesque village of Wimberley and sharing their unique vacation rentals with their guests. Gregory is a woodworker and his handiwork is evident in each of their vacation homes. Jennifer is an art teacher and teaches small classes out of the studio behind their home. They have a large garden, chickens, cats, and a dog.
Jennifer and Gregory purchased this House in 2007
Why Jennifer and Gregory chose Wimberley
This property has such a special place in our hearts. With the hilly terrain and beautiful creek we feel like we have our own little slice of hill country heaven. We strive to keep our property as natural as possible. We've created some walking trails to the most scenic parts of the creek and left other areas uncleared to provide animal habitat, a healthy riparian landscape and privacy. Our guests often see foxes, deer, a variety of birds, and other wildlife. We even have a blue heron that likes to fly over the creek each morning.
What makes this House unique
This home is the perfect gathering spot for families and groups of friends. The spacious living area, gorgeous renovated kitchen, and large backyard complete with horseshoes, badminton, a charcoal grill, and fire pit make it an easy place to have fun, relax, and reconnect. The yard is fenced for the safety of little ones and pets, but just behind the fence is lovely Smith Creek. We host many groups coming to Wimberley for weddings, girls' weekends, friend reunions and more. We'd love to host you!

What a lovely stay!
Our friendsgiving was such a hit because of Jennifer and Gregory’s incredible home! Lovely backyard, fully stocked kitchen, welcoming property and dog friendly to boot! Everyone was very comfortable with the amount of space and we made many delicious meals in the spacious kitchen. The stargazing from the backyard was a perfect way to cap off our four day stay.
Overall it was a nice weekend, with a couple of hiccups. The house needs a deep cleaning, and the deck looked much newer in the pictures. However the fire pit and backyard are amazing!! The owners were very thoughtful about letting us know they would be out of town and who to contact if we needed assistance. That was helpful due to a breaker tripping several times. Also woke up Sunday morning to an empty propane tank, which meant the stove was down for a few hours. The owners offered to pay for our breakfast, and had their housekeeper bring over a camping stove that had to be used outside. We did not run out of hot water for showers thankfully, due to the fact that they had someone at the house to refill the tank by noon. Thanks for sharing your home.
Oh, we feel so bad that happened while we were out of town but so glad we could get it refilled right away. Our service is supposed to automatically fill our propane tank regularly, so this caught us quite by surprise as well. Rest assured we now have a new service. Also, we want to mention that we are refinishing our deck (in between bookings) and I should have mentioned that to the guests. A couple of rains caused us to get stuck between the stripping stage and refinishing stage since we need the wood to be dry, but we’re almost done and it should look sparkling new very soon!
Great place Nov 2019
Great place! Lots to do on the property. Very well stocked. Needs a little deep cleaning. Overall this place is great. Pet friendly 😃 would stay here again.
Weekend with family
Had a wonderful time. Great property and house. Well stocked and lots of fun things to do for both kids and adults.
What a wonderful long weekend my 7 friends and I had at this lovely home. Everything was beyond our expectations. Thank you for making the 11th reunion of my high school girl friends so very special. I am thinking we will be returning soon.
Great weekend stay!
This home was clean, well equipped, and perfect for our weekend stay! We would definitely stay again!
Wimberley is a fun place to stay with lots of great local activities. We leave a book of flyers for area restaurants and attractions in the house, but here are some of our favorites.
In the summer, we recommend taking a dip at one of the local swimming holes. We’ll leave a list of area swimming holes on the fridge, but Blue Hole is our favorite and its refreshing, spring-fed water is just 3 minutes away. Jacob's Well (reserve swim time at http://www.co.hays.tx.us/jwna.aspx) and The Blanco River (pay to park at Pioneer Town) are great choices as well. The Corral Theater is a lovely place to catch an outdoor movie on a Fri-Sun night. Bring a camp chair and enjoy the show! If you don’t mind driving over to San Marcos (20 min.), rent a tube from the Lion’s Club at City Park and tube the San Marcos River. You can tube 'the horseshoe' part of The Guadalupe River by renting tubes from The Tube Haus on FM 306 (20 min). The glass bottom boat rides at TX State’s Aquarena Center are really wonderful and educational, too!
There are several area wineries with beautiful grounds: The Driftwood Estate Winery, The Wimberley Valley Winery, and The Duchman Family Winery (and the Italian restaurant, Trattoria Lisina). There is also Bella Vista Ranch, a local olive orchard and olive oil producer. Their grounds, shop, and tasting room are open Mon, Thurs, Fri, and Sat.
Some of our other favorite activities include taking a hike up Old Baldy to watch the sun set, going ziplining at Wimberley Ziplines, visiting a local winery, grabbing a yummy house-brewed pint at Middleton Brewing or Wimberley Brewing Company, taking a jog or walk along the hike and bike trail at Blue Hole Regional Park, catching some live music at Cypress Creek Cafe’s Buzzard Bar, Linda’s Fine Foods, or Ino’z, and taking a morning or evening drive along The Devil’s Backbone (Hwy 32). We also love day trips to Pedernales Falls State Park (about 40 minutes away) or Luckenbach/Fredericksburg/Enchanted Rock (about 1/1.5 hrs away). Guests also ask about local hiking trails, and San Marcos has several greenbelts that are great spots for a hike: http://smgreenbelt.org/SMNaturalAreas.htm. Our local Blue Hole Park also has some nature trails and a three mile one way hike and bike trail.
For dining, we highly recommend The Leaning Pear and Jobell on RR12 just outside of the town center. They're both really yummy! The Salt Lick BBQ is a fantastic choice, located about 15 minutes away in Driftwood. Trattoria Lisina is also in Driftwood, and it’s a great for a more elegant dinner. It’s located on the grounds of the Duchman Family Winery, which is beautiful. Other Wimberley restaurants include: Brewster’s Pizza (gluten-free and dairy-free options), I’noz (average food, but nice setting on Cypress Creek & live music on weekend nights), Kate’s Place, Linda’s Fine Foods, San Angel Mexican Restaurant, Marco’s Italian, Wimberley Café (popular for breakfast), and Cypress Creek Café. You can also pick up good breakfast tacos at Shamrock Tacos. We do our best to keep updated menus for these restaurants in a binder in the house.
