An AWESOME get away on a beautiful island

  • 5 of 5

Studio apartment, includes all you need for a vacation. My husband & I stayed for a week. Went to Moe's Grocery Store in Red Hook the first day via Taxi. Food seemed to cost twice as much. Walked to Sapphire beach many days which is easier going down than coming up, you'll become more familiar after one day getting there through the condos with the red roofs. Walk past the marina stay to the left and go through the parking lot. While at the beach, we snorkeled around the coral on the right side & was told there have been turtle sightings out towards the left side but we didn't see any. You can rent a lounge chair for $9 a day or use the chairs provided with room rental. There was a cooler with the room that we did use with a bottle opener attached to it and making ice ahead of time. Some nights we caught the safari to Red hook for $1 to do happy hour & dinner, then returned via taxi $4-5 per person (safari only goes one-way which would of taken quite a bit longer going back). One day we went into Red Hook, took the ferry to St Johns ($7 each way) rented a jeep & drove to Cinnamon Beach (great snorkeling at the end - coral w tunnels), then to Francis Bay with a stop "skinny legs restaurant" in Coral Bay for lunch. Another day we went up to Coki Beach which has Coral World, we didn't go in to it but apparently is kind of like a smaller version of Sea World where you can swim with sharks & other animals. At this beach, $5 to rent a chair, snorkeling was also very good on the right side. Go early gets a bit busy, but people will wait on you for food & drinks. Overall St Thomas is a fun island, lots to do. Red Hook is away from the cruise ship terminal so didn't get overly crowded.

There are 2 pools at Sapphire Village, one is steps away from the room & is quiet. Room was on the bottom floor at the end, also quiet. I feel we were in an area that you had many options to do things. We talked about catching a boat at the marina for snorkeling trip but didn't this time. We did go to the "Slice" restaurant by the other pool. They have various pizzas & other foods on the menu. People were very friendly & helpful.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a great time. We certainly enjoy ourselves there. You got around and saw lots of stuff, which is great. We shorkelled down Sapphire beach last time we were there and I saw 1 turtle down to the left side of beach in about 20 feet of water. I prefer the right side where you were, Glad you managed the safaris ok. Come back again. Eamon

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Great views from the condo! We only ever made it to the smaller pool, but there is a larger one with a bar and grill. It is very close to redhook, which was a big plus to us! The condo was nice and clean! There was snorkeling gear, pool noodles, and a large selection of books to read at the beach/by the pool. I would recommend this place to others.

Wonderful place to stay.

Our experience was grand. The villa was located in the right spot. Not too close nor too far, perfect. Beautiful view of the sea from a hilltop position. I would stay here again if available my next trip to St. Thomas!

Great space at a great price

  • 5 of 5

First time on the island, was pointed to this complex by a family member who frequents St. Thomas and was a great choice. You can't get a better value.

Condo is perfect for two, clean and has the basic amenities you need. If you're expecting brand new resort style accommodations, this is not for you- has the basics, isn't fancy. The unit is exactly as advertised. Great balcony view of the water, steps from the pool.

Sapphire Village was a great location to be a at on St. Thomas. There's Sapphire Beach, which is a short walk from the condo. You're a few minutes drive to Red Hook, with all the night life you could want (check out Duffy's, it was a blast). And my favorite part, just minutes from the ferry to St. John, which is home to some of the most breathtaking beaches I've been to.

We were in town for a wedding that was mid island, at the Marriott. While it would've been convenient to stay on-site there, the 20 minute, $20 cab ride was not an issue.

Definitely recommend and will look to stay again when we return (which we most certainly will).

Very nice and clean. Has everything you would need.

Only issue I had was when shower curtain rod fell down,I couldn't put it back up. I called manager Alice, she said she would send someone to fix it, no one ever came. It was fixed by my cousin so I was able to shower with no problems. That was the only down fall of the trip. Everything else went smoothly. Beautiful view of the water and other islands.
