Guestbook comments from the manager

My name is Sabrina Brill, and we are from California. We stayed at Ko'olau Vista Villa the house in October with our children and some friends and their daughter. It was perfect for us - having our own pool, the Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, the veranda off the upstairs bedrooms ( I just lounged on the chaise for hours and read a book after the kids passed out at night), the two outside showers the enclosed yard for my 2 year old son, and the hours and hours all the kids spent trying to catch a gecko... was the icing on the cake. We rode the bikes to the beach and everywhere. The beach down the street is amazing, it was breathtaking and great to walk down to the beach and just sit and drink coffee in the morning while the kids played in the waves.

Lianne & Ramon were SO SO SO very HELPFUL.... they had such a beautiful welcome basket we walked in and the house was so amazing to begin with. They were so good about cluing us in on all the best local places to go and eat and do stuff, they are a goldmine of information about the island and all it has to offer.

We had an amazing week and are planning to be there again soon. We loved it so much we started looking for jobs and a house to buy there.

It's not a scam...I had my reservations too, because it sounded too good to be true, but after 35 years of Oahu visits to Waikiki - I wanted something better for my family and this is it. I also looked at other rental's in Kailua... but this was the best price for the most amount of space and a pool. (For me it was the Jacuzzi tub that put me over the top) I was very impressed with Lianne & Ramon and how great they were with any questions or problems we had. We even helped them change a couple light bulbs.

Please feel to email me with any further questions you have... we had a great experience and would do it again in a flash, even with 3 kids in tow!

Great Home!

  • 5 of 5

Our party of ten had plenty of room to spread out in this home. Our children loved swimming in the pool and we all enjoyed the short walk to the beach :). Kailua beach is a beautiful and peaceful beach and our kids were happy to have waves for body surfing. We had a wonderful vacation exploring Oahu and truly appreciated the location and amenities of this house.

Great place for a family reunion!

  • 5 of 5

Our multigenerational group of ten (ages from 20's to 70's) was very comfortable here. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone. And a dining table big enough to fit all of us. Well-designed and well-equipped kitchen. We also liked the living room area with the big TV and plenty of seating. Furnishings are functional rather than fancy. It's an older house, but well-designed. Lianne is a wonderful and thoughtful host--she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful views of the mountains, and a pleasant and easy walk to Kailua Beach, farmer's market, and other shopping. The pool was also very popular. The pool does not have a fence around it so if you have small children, you will need to be extra careful. Note that the house is in a quiet residential neighborhood- the neighbors appreciate it when guests observe pool hours and are considerate about noise levels. We would definitely rent this house again.

Beautiful area & beach

  • 3 of 5

We loved our stay on Oahu. Kailua Town & beach exceeded our expectations.

Favorites:

Ease of walkING to and from the beach

Ease of renting gear nearby at Kailua Beach Rental

Great shave ice at Island Snow

Enough rooms to comfortably fit our party of ten

Ample towels for our party

Great kitchen

Plenty of seating for meals

Nice washer & dryer

Beautiful fully fenced yard

Nice deep pool

Very easy to get around the island, we didn't experience traffic

20 min from airport

Lovely host contact, very easy to communicate when we had questions

Things to consider:

-If you have a bad back, the mattresses may not be nice enough to make you comfortable.

-there is ample seating, but none of it is comfortable. Thus was the general consensus of everyone in our party. When you are staying somewhere for two weeks, it gets tiring not to have a comfy seat when you are home for the night.

-kailua is the rainy side of the island. We would come back in the summer.

-not all the bedrooms doors have locks, more specifically the master bedroom, so privacy can be a challenge

Tushie Family's Trip to Kaulua

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 12 LOVED our vacation to Kaulua. The home was perfect. Location was great near the beach and shopping. With six grandkids, I went to the grocery store four times!!! The kids loved the pool! Everything we needed was provided. Lianne was very helpful in answering my questions about some of the best things to do. The luau she recommended at Sea Life was the hit of our vacation. Everything was perfect!

family of eleven

  • 5 of 5

Totally enjoyed our stay. Enough room for all eleven of us and Lianne was responsive to our needs. The children loved the pool and the easy access to the beach. Kailua is a wonderful town, only wish the farmers market was very night. Would recommend this place to anyone. Centrally located and easy to get to all our destination trips (i.e. Pearl Harbor, PCC, snorkeling).

Family vacation

  • 4 of 5

This home was great for our group of 8. Lots of room to spread out.

The bedrooms were all large with comfortable beds. Also a large table in the eating area gave us plenty of elbow room.

Walking distance to the beach and town. Lots of great restaurants and grocery stores to chose from.

Two fantastic farmers markets , one at the elementary school on Sundays and one in the parking lot by Longs Drugs on Thursdays.

The only thing i would suggest is replacing the couch in the livingroom, it wasnt very comfy also the house could use a deep cleaning a few times a year.
