This newly renovated ground level beach cottage is perfect for seniors. There are no steps or stairs to climb as you bring in your luggage, groceries, or beach gear. Beautiful new kitchen complete with new appliances. Two bedrooms, two full baths plus a sleeping room.  Gulf views from the front porch with comfortable seating. Open courtyard for pleasant relaxation among the palm trees. Improved walk to the beach is directly across the street. All is just perfect for seniors.

Rooms include a great room combination of living room, dining and kitchen. There are two comfortable bedrooms with queen bed, and king bed. In addition there is a sleeping room with two twin beds and the living room with a sleeper sofa. The glassed in front porch has a beautiful view. Hot tub seats ten adults. Patio area has gas and charcoal grills. Free internet and cable service.  Free phone.

Due to severe allergies, this must be a pet free home. No Smoking.

We are a retired couple who love fishing and the beach. Our beach cottage is clean and airy. It is best enjoyed by senior citizens since it has no stairs and few steps.

Lovely Beach Renovated Cottage

It is a perfect location, quiet, 2 minutes from the surf, across a small, non busy beach road. Great little compound with patio, Hot tub, dine in or out. We didn't feel the need to go anywhere, Had some great suggestions from owners, for dining etc. Peter and Sara are welcoming and personable. We had a girls week, Very nice king beds, did not use the twin room. The house is very equipped. Amenities were more than I've seen at most rentals. We spent most nites sitting under the stars at the beach or tub. We enjoyed it and will be back, Thanks to Peter and Sara. LOVE St. George !!

Wonderful home!

Great ranch right across the street from the beach! This home has everything you need for an unforgettable vacation! Took two of our grandchildren (10 & 12) and everyone was happy. The home owners were great to work with and a pleasure to talk to. We will definitely be back for a getaway this fall.

Love Love Loved our stay!!!

This was our first trip to the island and we loved it so much. We came for a wedding and everyone in our wedding party loved our house as much as us. ONE STORY! No stairs at the beach is such a blessing, beach steps from the house, fantastic pool, loved our front porch. Thank you Peter and Sara for providing home away from home - the house was stocked with everything you could ask for and then some. We hope to make it back again.

Great Getaway, nice owners and wonderful amenities, proximity to beach can't be beat

We've stay at SGI for over 20 years at various rentals, this is one my favorite. Not only were the owners very friendly and attentive, the proximity to the beach was perfect. My mom has trouble with her knees, so this one level house was perfect. Fully stocked and the hot tub and golf carts use was fabulous. We were very comfortable in the 3 bedrooms. Thanks Peter and Sara for sharing your beautiful home.

Salty Seagull - Old Florida Charm At Its Best!

Salty Seagull provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy the best of what SGI has to offer. Many amenities help make life on the island easy, convenient, and enjoyable. The owners were always available and very helpful. We stayed here in 2010 when the house was managed by the previous owner. The new owners have remodeled the house inside and out to make this vacation home even better. The kitchen updates along with outdoor amenities such as the hot tub and shaded courtyard area have allowed much needed improvements to be made without spoiling the "Real Florida" atmosphere for which this house is known. Our family has been fortunate enough to spend vacations on SGI for the past 20 years. We have stayed in many different houses over time. Some make our list to return and some do not. Salty Seagull is most definitely on our return list!

Decent value, but disappointing aspects

Our initial impression of the rental was not a favorable one: beds were unmade with crumpled sheets on them, some of the "clean" sheets were stained. There were many beach chairs as promised, but they were old and tattered. There was no teapot in the kitchen - a challenge for big tea drinkers. I saw a large bug (cockroach?) in the master shower. The hot tub only heated up to a luke warm "bath" temperature, so we ended up opting not to use it for most of our stay. The pack n' play for our baby was missing a mattress, so I was glad we brought one along just in case. But, on the flip side, proximity to the beach was nice and access to kayaks, bikes and other equipment was helpful. The price was good by comparison to other local options, but it is clear that other rentals are better kept up and newer.

Owner Response: The previous renter left with one or more beds made less than perfect; the schedule on the turn day didn’t permit us to check out the condition of the place before these guests checked in. As for the “stained” sheets, we will be replacing the old sheets with new. There were many beach chairs as promised, but they were old and tattered. Owner Response: We will be discarding the old chairs; we will have all new chairs for 2016. There was no teapot in the kitchen - a challenge for big tea drinkers. Owner Response: We will have a new teapot for many fine tea drinkers. I saw a large bug (cockroach?) in the master shower. Owner Response: Everyone knows that in Florida we have palmetto bugs. They get into the house no matter what we do. Since we are more afraid of dangerous chemicals on our skin than seeing bugs, we don’t spray a lot poison. However, I will be having a talk with the bugs. The hot tub only heated up to a luke warm "bath" temperature, so we ended up opting not to use it for most of our stay. Owner Response: This was an operator error as the heater works perfectly. There are two settings: pool (warm) and spa (hot). We provide a comprehensive and detailed operating instruction manual; and, guests can always call us for assistance. The pack n' play for our baby was missing a mattress, so I was glad we brought one along just in case. Owner Response: The mattress was there stored under a bed. We prefer that guests call for us for assistance when they have an issue. But, on the flip side, proximity to the beach was nice and access to kayaks, bikes and other equipment was helpful. Owner Response: We do provide a lot of amenities. The price was good by comparison to other local options, but it is clear that other rentals are better kept up and newer. Owner Response: The Salty Seagull is one of the oldest houses on the island. However, we have worked hard to modernize, replace and repair all aspects of the property. In addition, we work hard to keep the place clean and bug free. Nearly all of our guests have given the property a perfect rating which is our goal as our family members also stay here on vacation. It is disappointing to have any guest less than totally satisfied. The Salty Seagull is better than this review implies.
