Beautiful, serene, relaxing place to stay.
We had a wonderful experience from start to finish! The owner, Debbi, was quick to respond and very helpful while we were choosing a place to stay and throughout our rental process. The house was very clean, simple, and beautiful- the perfect place for a couple’s getaway. It is very comfortable and felt like home- the bed was comfortable, couches were perfect for lounging, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a nice meal. We planned on beaching and biking closer to the house and spending some time in town, but with bad weather there wasn’t a whole lot to do in the close vicinity, so next time we will bring a car (which was recommended prior to our stay). Overall it was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to return!
A beautiful cottage in a private, secluded spot.
The cottage is a mile's walk from the pristine Quidnet beach and pond and close to the bike path on Polpis Road. Nestled in the trees, it is lovely, well maintained , and a perfect fit for two. It features a comfortable, airy bedroom with two closets, a cozy living room with great sofas, a fully equipped kitchen, from tea kettle to lasagna casserole to pasta pot. The only thing missing for our lifestyle is a dining table and chairs so we could dine in and use all the lovely kitchen equipment! (For summer guests there is an outdoor table.) A wonderful place to write that novel!
Well appointed and comfortable cottage.
This remote cottage is comfy and cozy. It gets lots of light and a great cross breeze with the windows open.
The main bedroom is a tad small. Access to one side of the bed is a bit tricky and there’s only a night stand on one side. The bed is reasonably comfy, but a bit squeaky and springy. My wife and I woke each other up a few times just by adjusting our positions.
Good sized bathroom. Strong shower. Good hot water. Full sized kitchen with everything you’d need to cook at home.
The are a couple of downsides to the place. One is a fairly regular stream of noisy airplanes flying overhead, as the cottage is in the direct flight path of the airport. Looking on a map after we arrived, we discovered the runway of the airport points almost directly to the cottage. The planes tapered off towards evening, but we stayed in October. I can imagine a LOT more air traffic in the summer. To be fair, these weren’t massive jets...mostly small private planes, but noisy nonetheless.
Another issue was some nearby dog(s) barking non-stop, starting at 8am sharp every day, for an hour or more. It was most noticeable in the morning but we heard it throughout the day.
We’d probably come back if the place was closer to the ocean. The ocean sounds would block a lot of the noise. But for a remote cottage in the otherwise silent woods, the reminders of civilization were a bit too constant for these two city folk.
Our week in Quidnet
What a wonderful place at 1 Chase Lane, Nantucket, Ma. We had a great time biking, touring the island, visiting the vineyard/Brewery/Distillery, seeing the museums, and always returning to our little oasis at Quidnet. And we loved walking around Sconset in the southeast end of the island. We'll definitely come back someday soon. There's more to see, more fish to catch, and golfing yet to do. Thanks for a great time. The Opps
Hidden gem in Quidnet
I highly recommend the Quidnett Getaway Cottage. The owner Debbi nutting couldn't be nicer. This space has a very peaceful energy. The furnishings are wonderful. It is stocked with every amenity you can think of. It's location both private and outside of town lends itself to good nights sleep. It's the perfect accommodation for a single person like myself or a couple. I liked my weeks stay so much I plan to return next year.
Away from it all, perfectly stocked home!
Loved staying here, location was exactly what we were looking for- away from the hustle and bustle of town! The home is completely private, you can only see the neighbor's roof top! Each night on our way home, we were welcomed by a number of deer as we turned off the main road. Just about a mile away from the beach/Sesachaha pond (perfect for young kids, paddle boards, or canoeing), a nice bike ride or walk is completely do-able if you didn't have a car, though i would highly recommend having a vehicle.
We brought our infant and also had a friend join us for 2 nights, there was plenty of room with the 3rd adult (extra charge) but worth it! The kitchen has everything you could possibly need (pots, pans, spices), and most importantly, a coffee maker. The bathroom also had a nice variety of toiletries in the event you forgot something.
Debbi was beyond accommodating, and a genuinely nice person, we enjoyed our stay very and interactions very much!
Secluded cottage in Quidnet. .6 mile to beach and Sesachacha pond. Adjacent to Squam Farm's trails and pastures. Close to bike path and bus stop.
