About Steve Sheridan
Owners have two homes and occupy the beach home when not rented.
Steve Sheridan purchased this House in 2011
Why Steve Sheridan chose Port St. Joe
We have traveled the Florida panhandle since children, and fell in love with Cape San Blas because it is one of the last relatively undeveloped coastal areas- No high rises and very un-crowded beaches. This home is in an exclusive community on the north part of the cape, offering crystal clear water.
What makes this House unique
You might just be the only people on the beach for hundreds of yards either direction.

The house was great for two families. Kitchen fully equipped and outdoor shower made it easier with lots of kids. It’s so close to the beach! The kids loved collecting hermit crabs and setting them free. It’s a short bike ride to the trading post. Not very many restaurants on the cape which was fine for our large group.
Renter Beware- On-going construction directly in front of property
This property is no longer first tier on the Gulf. A large house is being built directly in front. Construction noise and traffic started at 8 am and lasted all day into the evening throughout the week (every day except Sunday and during a thunderstorm on Monday.) Nail guns and back up alarms could be heard throughout the house and onto the beach. Contractor trucks blocked the driveway throughout the week as wood was delivered, etc. Imagine our surprise pulling up to a bustling construction scene when we were expecting a quiet, relaxing, vacation at the beach. The owner failed to disclose the construction to us despite knowing about it and despite it starting AT LEAST 30 days before our rental. He had no problems charging a Gulf Front premium for the rental and keeping pictures on VRBO that do not accurately reflect the view.
The interior of the property was as described. The walkway to the beach has a lot of stairs like a prior reviewer noted. You will not be able to bring your beach cart across, but it is not a terribly long walk. The subdivision was nice and the neighbors we met at the pool were very nice.
The grill is in the car port so if you grill out you will need to bring your food up three flights to eat out on the porch, although, with the construction noise you will not want to eat on the porch anyway.
Thank you for your letter. I am sorry that you had difficulty with your stay. Construction is never much fun, and with Cape San Blas growing so fast, there are houses going up all over. Unfortunately, owners have no control when someone builds in the neighborhood. I hope you will give us another chance when things quiet down on the construction.
Lots of stairs and construction of another home between this property and the beach.
Lots of stairs. Even on the boardwalk. Construction of another home between this property and the beach. Homes were very close together. No views to the west and when that home in front is finished you will only have a view to the east. We had fishing gear stolen from us the last night between our cars and the door. Same place we had them all week. They waited until the last night knowing we most likely would not do anything about it. The first time in my forty years of taking family vacations that we have had something stolen from us. The beach was nice.
Nice House on the Beach!
We enjoyed our stay here. It was in a great location! It was a short walk to the beach and we saw dolphins from the house deck each day. The beach had very few people and was beautiful! There are restaurants close by that had a variety of good food. The Trading Post store nearby had all our needs. We were close to Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. The St. Joseph Peninsula State park is close also. The house had just the right amount of room for our party of 7. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking items. There were a few minor issues, but the owner was very responsive.
Great location and house!
Beautiful and perfect!!
Welcome to a beautiful beach house located in San Dunes, one of the premier communities on Cape San Blas. Situated on a strip with Gulf front on one side and a pristine bay on the other, both offering any family great water activities.
Enjoy your days on the white sand beach- play in the surf, games on the beach, dolphin watching, shelling, walking the natural and uncrowned beach, build sandcastles, ride the waves or just bob up and down. Fish from shore, the marina or boat - in the bay, gulf or freshwater rivers. Take the family scalloping in the bay for the finest bay scallops you will ever eat.
Located less than 3 miles from St. Joseph Peninsula State Park with all of it’s wildlife, dunes, protected beaches, and hiking. Kayak the bay- see sea turtles, rays, dolphins and more.
Visit the “Cape Trading Post” or “Scallop Cove” for anything you might need, both have most everything you might need. Port St. Joe is just a short drive for your larger grocery runs, with a great small town full of unique shops and family friendly dining. Or take in the “Indian Pass Raw Bar” for great sea food, and a wonderfully fun and laid back atmosphere.
