We haven't been to the coast very much during the off-season, but this was the perfect place to be. The house is roomy, full of light and sits just a few hundred yards from the beach. We spent a cozy weekend watching wildlife and strolling up and down the shore.
It is always so nice to hear how our guests time at THE MARINER went. We are glad you had an enjoyable time! Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope you will be able to visit again.🐠
Fabulous Beach House
This is our second year staying at this house and we hope to be able to stay here again next year. It is a lovely beach house with incredible views of the ocean which can be enjoyed any time of the year. The house is perfect for family and friends to gather for a great get-away. The kitchen is a nice size for preparing a big family meal or grabbing a snack and heading to the beach for hours of playing in the sand. The house has 3 different levels to enjoy. We mostly enjoyed the main living area for eating, playing games, reading and quiet conversations. The main level has a bedroom and bathroom which was perfect for my mother. The upstairs has the best view from both the master bedroom and the living room. The house is comfortable, inviting, and has a lovely nautical theme.
We have rented out our beach house for over 16 years. It is always wonderful to hear how our guests have enjoyed doing things together and apart at our oceanfront home. It does have a lot of room to spread out! We appreciate your return, to make more memories at THE MARINER. THANKS AGAIN!!!
Best vacation on Washington Coast!
We've been visiting Washington Coast many times for many years with variety of accommodations. Staying for a week this year in The Mariner was by far the best experience we've had on the coast and we're looking forward to returning next year. Communication and arrangements with owners was professional and efficient. The house is spacious and comfortable, impressively decorated in nautical themes with full ocean view across 2 min. walk through tall grasses to the beach with deer roaming about. I've been able to catch surfperch for lunch in the low tide morning surf right off the beach in front of the house. Ocean facing patio is a perfect place to relax after activities on the beach. There're couple of well stocked grocery stores within short 5 min drive. Unlike our previous trips to the coast this time we didn't want to go dining out at all - enjoying home living, solitude and a splendor of the great ocean and fabulous sunsets instead. The home has working wifi allowing to stay in touch during the stay. I cannot imagine a better place for a quiet, relaxing, romantic getaway to the ocean. We will be back and would highly recommend it to any like-minded visitors.
We always enjoy your home. Hope to come again next year.
We always love having you as guests!
Our family of 10, age 3 to 75, rented this home for 3 nights. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and it was a nice home. Friday morning the power went out, we were told by the owners to go enjoy the town. We went to town had a lovely time. Came back to the house no power. We were told the power may not come back on till saturday. No water in the house no toilets etc. So 8 of us had to scramble to find hotels in town. After all said and done our families were out an unexpected 800.00 on top of what we already spent to rent the house. I let the owners know and they offered us one free night stay. Thank you but, no. They were unwilling to reimburse us for any of the money's we were out of pocket due to no power at their house. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would NOT recommend this home.
The Friday morning power outage our guests experienced had to do with a windstorm . It took out power to our "entire town" from 6:30 that morning until 9:55 that evening. We were "all" at the mercy of the Public Utility District to get things back in working order. Initially, the PUD hoped to have repairs made by 5:00 pm, but as you read, it took longer. We realize that this caused our guests concern as Friday started to wind down. This particular family was not so much "the adventurous type" for they booked rooms at around 5:30 pm. We don't fault them...it certainly was "their choice" not to wait for the repairs to finalize. Two of the guests had their travel trailer parked at our beach house, so they stayed Friday night on our property. Our guests claim they were out $800.00, "beyond the cost of their booked stay" for missing this "one night" due to the power outage. This excessive "one night" figure "exceeded" our charges for the entire 3 night booking at our beach house. They failed to include in their review that we e-mailed them an offer of a free 2 night stay. We never did hear back from them about the offer. We have rented out our beach house for over 15 years. Our "guest book" claims families love to stay and have made great family memories. However, we will start requesting guests to comment here, so everyone can hear about our home. We are not in the habit of giving out "monetary refunds" to our guests for situations that are completely out of our control. "Acts of God".....AKA....this windstorm and waiting for PUD's repairs. Our goodwill offer for a free 2 night stay (value $400.00) to this family was made because we do care about our guests.
Our oceanfront beach house is only about 20 minutes away from deep sea charter fishing in Ilwaco, on the peninsula. Explore the magic of the Columbia River, offering Salmon, Sturgeon, Halibut, Bottom, and Tuna. Two lighthouses, sitting on high cliffs await your exploration! Nearby, you will find the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Cape Disappointment State Park.
