About Jennifer Lewis
My husband David and I bought 5 acres of this beautiful property and built Out of Bounds Trail Condo. We lived there for 4 years until our family doubled in size with the birth of our twin boys. We needed more space so we built the main house in 2010 where we all currently reside. We love the serenity, wildlife and peacefulness living out in the woods and we hope you will find it as special as we do.
Jennifer Lewis purchased this Condo in 2006
Why Jennifer Lewis chose Whitefish
We bought this property because we wanted acreage and liked the idea of more wildlife than people around. We also like the quick access to town and Glacier Park and lots of hiking trails right out the door.
What makes this Condo unique
We fell in love with Out of Bound Trail Condo because you feel like you are living in the tree tops. There are lots of windows looking out at mountains and tree tops. It is especially beautiful in winter when all the trees are laced with snow.
Clean modern quiet
The location is wonderful, it’s private, quiet, and deep in the woods yet sunny.
It was very clean with beautiful modern appliances in the kitchen. Very well stocked kitchen.
We saw deer from the deck.
Unfortunately we stayed during the hottest week of the summer. With no air conditioning, the Montana method of closing windows during day, opening at night didn’t really work well. We were miserable from 4pm until about 12:30 or 1:00 am.
The loft is really not a sleeping space unless you are a teenager. It’s much smaller than I could see from photos.
Nice place to stay
Very nice modern condominium that worked fine for our family of five. Bottle of wine and a nice IPA(my favorite) we’re waiting for us upon arrival.
The condo is out in the countryside. Further than what we expected but it was nice and we have no complaints. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. It’s about 30-35 minutes from the entrance to glacier.
Great for Families!
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely, comfortable condo. The condo is spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Because we were traveling with young children, washer/dryer access was a huge perk.
We enjoyed the proximity to downtown Whitefish. It's a little bit of a drive, but we had no problem going back and forth between the condo and Whitefish to accommodate our toddler's meal and nap schedules.
Unfortunately, we visited during a time of high mosquito activity, so bring your bug spray just in case. And as others have stated, the sparse window coverings let in a lot of sunlight during the long summer days. But the view is gorgeous!
Thanks so much to Jennifer for being an excellent host.
Quiet and Delightful
My husband and I stayed in Jennifer's delightful home at the end of August. It is located in a very quiet, secluded area but close to Whitefish which is a lovely little town with great coffee, cafes, arts, yoga, crossfit/ gyms, a sweet lake with tons of activities and even delicious local breweries.
As remarked by other travelers, the home does not have air conditioning so in the middle of the summer, evenings do get warm in the house but it cools down almost immediately once the sun goes down. The house is impeccably clean, well appointed and very comfortable. It is ideal for a family with 1 or 2 children. Not sure about 4 adults (the mezzanine is a great bedroom addition but might be tough for some people to reach). Jennifer is a wonderful host who left useful notes, information about the area and even a bottle of wine.
The only drawback we noted is that the wifi connection was very poor and somewhat frustrating to use at times. We talked to Jennifer about it and I am sure this can easily be fixed.
A note for hikers. The rental is about 40-45 minutes away from Glacier National Park, which is really not that bad. However, the park is /was far busier than we ever expected. Once in the park, there is only one main road that leads to most trails. It took easily an additional hour to 1.5 hour (depending on your destination) to get to trail heads. Parking is a huge issue and snail-paced traffic can be frustrating. If you want to hike in the park around Many Glacier, Two Medicine, you will need to count about 3+ hours one way to get there (then return!) depending on traffic.
This obviously does not remove anything from the charm of Jennifer's home. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Very secluded and private, clean and well stocked
Nice condo, no need for air conditioning here, close the windows during the day, open them at night. 45 minute drive to West Glacier entrance. Clean condo, has everything you need to spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle. Would stay there again. Host is very accessible.
Beautiful location deep in the woods!
I was looking for a place that is close to the parks but not stuck in the middle of a tourist trap. Out of bounds condo is exactly that! Beautiful scenery and wildlife right at your door step with all the comforts of a new home. I can't say enough good things about this place and the owner is wonderful to work with. If you stay here you will not be disappointed. I can't wait to come back for another stay!
5 stars for "Out of bounds" condo!
Whitefish is a beautiful resort town with an endless supply of activities. Out house is nestled in the woods with lots of opportunity for wildlife viewing. There is Stillwater lake 2 miles away, a nature trail you can walk to and the quaint town of Whitefish just 10 miles away.
