Out of Bounds condo is 1 bedroom and sleeps up to 6 people. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, a new double fold down futon in the main room, and a loft with a double mattress. The apartment was built in 2006 with stainless steel appliances, gas range, large island bar, a new flatscreen tv and wi/fi access. There is a large deck with stunning views of Stryker mountain and surrounding peaks. Great opportunity to see lots of wildlife- deer, elk, moose, wild turkeys, wolves, black bears, foxes, rabbits, bald eagles and hummingbirds. Walk to Lupfer loop and Lupfer lookout trailhead. Only minutes from Stillwater lake and a short drive to downtown Whitefish and Talley lake. Glacier National Park is a scenic 45 minute drive.
My husband David and I bought 5 acres of this beautiful property and built Out of Bounds Trail Condo. We lived there for 4 years until our family doubled in size with the birth of our twin boys. We needed more space so we built the main house in 2010 where we all currently reside. We love the serenity, wildlife and peacefulness living out in the woods and we hope you will find it as special as we do.
Jennifer Lewis purchased this condo in 2006
We bought this property because we wanted acreage and liked the idea of more wildlife than people around. We also like the quick access to town and Glacier Park and lots of hiking trails right out the door.
We fell in love with Out of Bound Trail Condo because you feel like you are living in the tree tops. There are lots of windows looking out at mountains and tree tops. It is especially beautiful in winter when all the trees are laced with snow.
We really enjoyed our stay!
It is absolutely beautiful out here.
Hopefully we will stay here again.
Thanks so much, take care.
Out of Bounds condo was very comfortable and suited the needs for our family vacation perfectly. We enjoyed seeing the deer in the backyard and the sense of seclusion it provided. The kitchen was very well equipped and having a washer and dryer allowed us to pack lighter.
The west entrance to Glacier NP is about one hour away where we spent a good part of our time.
My boyfriend and I spent two weeks at Jennifer's condo, and we treated it like our home--everything we needed to cook, clean, and do our laundry was provided, and daaaaang if we didn't take full advantage (particularly of the kitchen).
If you're looking for a somewhat isolated location, this is the place. The condo is accessible only from a one-lane gravel road, the only house visible from the condo is Jennifer's, and the area is totally quiet (save for the occassional bobcat cry in the middle of the night). The town of Whitefish is about a 15-minute drive away, but there are trails and lakes closeby, so there's no need to go into town to have fun. We also made the 40-minute drive up to Glacier quite a few times, and let me tell you... this whole state is beautiful.
The bed was comfortable, albeit a little plush foy my boyfriend (he has back problems, though, so he's an exception). The condo was clean and spacious, and we were very comfortable there. It was the perfect vacation!
Word of advice to out-of-towners coming from the land of pavement: rent an SUV! We rented a tiny little Hyundai Accent, and while we did manage to get around, it was difficult... we found that many (most) of the roads off of the highways are gravel, and gravel breeds potholes.
We enjoyed our 9 day stay at this beautiful mountain retreat!!! Views from every window were amazing and it was sooooooo quiet, day and night! The condo was furnished with everything we needed, so all we had to bring was our clothes and food! We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this property to anyone seeking peace and quiet from the hustle and noise of the city life! We didn't want to leave and would certainly go back!
Just a short, pretty drive on a gravel road to this beautiful location. Our family loved staying at this condo which is just a few minutes' drive from downtown Whitefish. Nice view from the spacious deck. Our kids weren't comfortable climbing the ladder to the loft to sleep in the bed there, but we made up the futon in the living room and that worked just fine. We had everything we needed to prepare dinner (although a steamer would be a nice addition), and we contemplated bbqing but just didn't get around to it. Nice to have a washer/dryer available too. A lovely, clean, well kept place to stay - would definitely return! So nice to have such a sweet dog welcome us each time we returned as well. Jennifer left us a bottle of wine which was such a nice touch and much appreciated at the end of a long day in the park!
I can't rain enough praises on this property! From the drive in with miles of beautiful scenery of the countryside of Whitefish up to Out of Bounds Trail, to the warm, welcome of a clean, beautifully decorated, "Out of Bounds Condo." The owners have a home across the driveway from the condo however they respected our space and we didn't feel crowded or exposed. They were easy to work with and generous (a bottle of wine was waiting for us on the counter!). We snow-shoed right from the condo out to Lupfer Trailhead and had an abundance of snow to do so in! The condo has two forms of heat, electric and wood stove. They had chopped firewood for us and had that ready if we wanted to use. It was toasty and wonderful. The full kitchen is a great resource. We also appreciated the convenient carport to park in right under the condo. The only downside we had for the condo to answer honestly was the bed. We slept pretty rough as the mattress wasn't comfortable. However we didn't try the bed up in the loft area of the condo so maybe that would be more comfortable!
We would recommend this location and condo to anyone!
We (two kids and three adults) stayed at this property for a ski-trip between Christmas and New Year's and it was perfect. A cozy fireplace kept us warm and the boys loved the sleeping loft. The large kitchen was well equipped and a nice focal point to the room, the bathroom was spotless. The big walk in closet off the main bedroom was great for all the trappings of a ski trip. Our hosts were thoughtful and available if we needed them.
The location on Lupfer Rd. was convenient to town (about a 10 minute drive to town, 20 to the lift) and BEAUTIFUL - a stunning winter wonderland.
We'll be back!

Whitefish is a beautiful resort town with an endless supply of activities. Out house is nestled in the woods with lots of opportunity for wildlife viewing. There is Stillwater lake 2 miles away, a nature trail you can walk to and the quaint town of Whitefish just 10 miles away.
