Two bedroom apartment, attached to Victorian Watch House, with sunny, open plan living area with fabulous outlook onto beach and sea. Patio views to Exmouth and Portland Bill and to the famous “Parson and Clerk” red cliffs and Brixham. Beautiful morning sunrise views. 'Delightful and magical'. 'Great retreat'.

No vehicle access, so short walk from on-road car parking. Directly above end of Dawlish station platform
There are regular buses to Exeter, for city centre sight-seeing and shopping, with its lovely traditional Cathedral, a newly developed Quayside and many shops and restaurants, theatre, arts cinema, etc.
As well as the ferry from Starcross to Exmouth, there is a round-the-bay boat trip from the pier at Dawlish which runs throughout the day during the summer.
Access: Access from the Exeter Road is a steep public path with one section of steps, around 30 metres.
The path is for public access to the beach as well as for the Watch House & Coastguard Cottages. You may have a short walk to find the car parking space, and a 5-10 minute walk to the High Street shops.
Arriving by car on a summer Saturdays - approach Dawlish from Teignmouth, rather than Exeter, as the road through Starcross is very narrow and there may be delays.
Shopping and Eating: Dawlish is a thriving town with plenty of cafes, bars and wine bars, and good shops for daily shopping, snacks and baked goods. Try Gays Creamery on the Lawns (with the famous black swans), and Deli Delicious, where fish fresh from Brixham can be ordered. All are within 5-10 minutes walk.
There are family-style pubs on Marine Parade and a short walk away, Smugglers Inn at Holcombe along the coast path to the West (~30 minute walk) and at Dawlish Warren to the East (15-20 minutes walk).
Walkers can try Cockwood, just beyond Dawlish Warren, where there are two fine pubs for dining.

Thoroughly enjoyed our break away. Great location, amazing views. Home from home. Hope to return very soon
Great location and apartment
We loved our stay at 2 Watch House , its a great location over looking the sea and having the train station so near was such a bonus to us as we came without a car and were able to explore the area with ease. Although the steps over the railway line were steep ,which gave us cause for concern we did just about manage with our suitcases, a young couple who were passing very kindly helped us with our cases when we arrived, a lot easier going down on our departure.
The apartment was very well designed with having the living area and kitchen overlooking the sea with big windows, a great place to breakfast and to come back to.
I would definitely recommend this holiday location.
Lovely, clean, tidy and homely accommodation. If you are keen on trains this is the one for you, right above the main railway line! A few steps away (both up and down) from walks along the road or beach wall to Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. Never used the car all week, taking advantage of the railway, buses and walking to get around the area. Would definitely come back again.
Just great really had the WOW factor
Very succinct! Thank you.
Wonderful mini break
We stayed for 3 nights in March as a birthday treat for my Mum. The house is cosy and warm and has all modern kitchen and bathroom facilities. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is provided for you, even down to the fresh milk on arrival. The view is absolutely stunning and even though I am a light sleeper, the train noise is not a problem. My only warning to potential travellers is that the path down to the house is very steep and is certainly not suitable for anyone with any walking issues.
very spacious and very comfortable place to stay. Very cosy for a winter break
Went to the Watch House recently for a 4 night break, thoroughly enjoyed it and have been here many times before. Feels very much like home from home, everything you need is provided, beautiful and clean and very comfortable, love Dawlish.
Thank you Angela and Sam for your continued support!
Short walk along sea wall to further stunning beaches and amenities (including go-karts) at Dawlish Warren. Blue flag beach at Dawlish Warren, local dog friendly beach and numerous sandy beaches and coves to explore nearby. Fantastic base for seeing Devon. Regular buses to Teignmouth, Torquay and Exeter with university city amenities; cathedral, high street shops, art cinema and quayside. Dartmoor is close by, a beautiful 20-30 minute drive, for rural walks and climbing, and is readily accessible via ferry from Totnes or steam train from Paignton. Golf: There is a golf course at Dawlish Warren. A second public golf course is available at Starcross. Ski: Artificial slope in Plymouth
