The cottage is on a sandy beach which is shared amongst the neighbouring properties. The lake is spring-fed and warm. It is a quiet, small lake. A beautiful oasis. From the deck look out onto a quiet sandy beach and enjoy the sunrise. Located next door to the cottage is Awenda Provincial Park with great hiking and biking trails. Awenda is located on Georgian Bay with miles of sandy beaches and small creeks. In the winter Awenda has groomed cross-country ski trails or there is cross-country skiing on the lake. The cottage is located within 30 minutes of downhill skiing at Moonstone or Horseshoe Valley ski resorts. If you are a biker or skier this is the cottage for you!
Penetanguishene and Midland are within 10 minutes driving distance from the cottage or 30 minutes biking distance. In town, there are tennis courts, funky coffee shops and places to eat not to mention the new Arts Centre that has just opened in Midland. There is always something exciting and new to do in this area.

About Deborah Adelman
We recently bought this cottage. We have had a cottage in this region for the past 9 years. We sold the smaller cottage to buy this much bigger cottage so that we can accomodate more friends and families when we are at the cottage. The cottage is a great place for entertaining and spending time with friends and families. Also, Awenda is a great bonus! We spend a lot of time hiking, biking and skiing in the park. We love it!!!
Deborah Adelman purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Deborah Adelman chose Tiny
The location!!!! Depending where you live in Toronto it is between a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Toronto. It is so close that sometimes we just go up for the night. Also, we love being close to a town with 24 hour shopping, great food and ammenities. We love the local restaurants and fresh farm produce that is available within 10 minutes of the cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is located on a small, beautiful spring-fed lake. It is wonderful to swim across the lake. We also love going to Georgian Bay to enjoy the big lake with great waves, swimming and long walks on pristine sandy beaches. It is the best of both worlds -- the big lake with the long sandy beaches and a small, more intimate lake experience. You can also enjoy drinking water from our well. It has been tauted as some of the best water in the world!

Spacious Cottage in Penetang
Overall our stay was great. Nice large cottage for lot's of space...we had a group of 10 for a 40th birthday and there was plenty of space including bathrooms and bedrooms for all to feel comfortable and at home. It was winter so very beautiful but did not really venture outside too much...looks like it would be a great cottage to rent in the summer too.
Only small things to comment on that would improve my rating from a 4 star to a 5 star...a tv would be nice in the main living area as many like to watch news, sports, etc. One couch in living area was basically broken, for a nice large cottage and price it would be nice to see a "proper" couch. There was no Ping Pong table as indicated in listing and this was something that we would have enjoyed given it is winter and we were inside most of the time. The toaster did not work it only toasted one side of bread and for a cottage that holds up to 12 people this makes breakfast prep extremely difficult. And finally...there was no salt for the entranceway and stairs and they are treacherous in the winter...for safety they should have a stock pile of salt. Also, the bbq is a coal bbq...which really is not nearly as easy and nice to use when 12 people are being fed...and on top coal is not provided. For a 12 person cottage and price I would expect that to be included. Again...this is the feedback I would provide as it is a great cottage and none of this took away from the overall experience but certainly these improvements would make it a 5 star stay.
Would likely book again in winter...we own a 3 season cottage but nice to go up north a few times in the winter with friends.
Winter weekend with friends
We had a great stay here for a weekend of winter fun! Lots of space in the main floor in the kitchen, dining room and living area and a couple huge bedrooms! The only complaint I have is the door on the powder room wouldn't shut firmly and would pop open if you weren't careful - but other than that we were super pleased and hope to return in the summer to see what the lake life is all about!
It’s nice to find a place large enough to accommodate our extended family.
Our grand children enjoyed tobogganing right from the back in the incredible snow.
Excellent, easy, and spacious
Location was great and right off the lake. Booking was simple and accessible. Cottage was large and set up nicely. There was two large tables in the kitchen and dining room where we spent most of our time. All cookware and utensils including a dish washing machine were conveniently available. Property had lots of space to park and play near the lake with an overlooking deck and patio. It was great value and the owner was prompt in replying to any emails. Had an enjoyable stay and would book again. Thank you
Great place for a cottage retreat
The cottage is nice, spacious and has a great view.
We loved our stay.... plenty of room and well stocked. Deborah was always available and we had no problems at all. Only one mention - the carpet on the top step going downstairs needs to be nailed down as it is a safety hazard.
Thanks for the review! I fixed the carpet on the stairs. Thanks for the tip!
An ideal location for naturalists, cyclists, hikers and cross-country skiiers. We are next door a large provincial park We are 8 minutes from town where you can enjoy lunch, the theatre, movies, shopping and site-seeing. The best of both world close to town but in the middle of nature.
