About Tawni Whitney

My grandfather built our lake house. Originally it was a camp. As life started to slow down for him he realized that his favorite place to be was at camp on the lake. He winterized the camp for he and my grandmother.

He has now passed and this lake house is a special part of him he left behind.

Why Tawni Whitney chose Maine Highlands

Hunting! Foliage. Lake front. Quiet and peaceful. Immaculate. Mt. Kathadin a short drive away! Paddle boat! Gas fireplace.

What makes this cottage unique

The water in front of the lake house is sandy and shallow which make it terrific for children and adults alike.

The lake is stocked with trout.

Bar Harbor is a lovely place to drive to for a visit.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The week has flown by and we have had a

superb time. Lots of fishing, hiking on Katahdin,

kayaking about the lake and just relaxing on the hammock.

Relaxation Maximus!!!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a long stay at this relaxation...the only sounds you hear are the fish jumping and the loons calling. Everything you need is right there, and if you need more the stores are only 10 minutes away. I totally didn't want to leave. The sunsets while sitting on the dock and the morning coffees out there are indescribable . The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. Thank you for sharing a piece of hidden paradise....

cabin on The Big Narrows Lincoln

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I both enjoyed staying in this cabin on The Big Narrows in Lincoln. It was a beautiful setting. We had perfect weather. The cabin had everything we needed in all the right settings. There were loons and a blue heron nearby. The swimming water was very clean. The swimming area was shallow. Beautiful for Kayaking at any part of day.Not noisy ,very peaceful. Good mattresses. The bathroom organized and clean with washer dryer. The toilet seat needs replacing however. The location perfect access to Lincoln and other parts of Maine

Great vacation in our cabin on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation here for 2 weeks. The place was very clean. Lots of great pictures--even a loon! We drove to Mt. Kathadin, Dexter, Guilford, Sangerville, Houlton, Bangor and even to the Haynesville Woods. Would definetly recommend this place for a great vacation spot.

Very clean camp with comforts of home

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for a great labor day weekend! My family enjoyed your camp very much. The days catching fish from the dock and nights by the camp fire made for wonderful, relaxing memories with the kids. I was very impresses that even my three year old CSS catching trout in addition to the bass, sunfish and yellow perch. The paddle boat was a real hit. I'm already thinking of coming back when the leaves change and hunting season starts. Heck, we may even come back for ice fishing season. I hear it is great on that lake.
