Why Renee Allen chose Northeast Mountains

Being at this cabin is like being with nature! You will have deer, turkery and other animal right in your back yard. You are only 10-12 mins away from Helen but you don't have the loud noise of being right there. Its a place where you can just sit in the hot tub and melt away all your problems or curl up with a good book on the porch.

A Perfect Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We came up for a girls weekend and to enjoy the Total Solar Eclipse. The cabin was exactly as pictured, clean, well-appointed and with a lovely porch and hot tub that we all loved. We had a wonderful time and if we ever come back to the mountains this is where we'll stay. We just loved it here.

The cabin was as pictured. Everything was there to help with a nice getaway. Easy drive to plenty of activities to do for the day adventurer. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

Nice cabin and excellent property.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a girls weekend at Mount Allen. Our only issues were the apparent rushed cleaning before we arrived (items tossed into closet floors, no dishwasher soap to be located, just small things). Overall the cabin was very clean. Couldn't locate TV control remotes for the upstairs, no big deal. Wi-fi worked very well. Upstairs shower was very cramped for a grown adult.

Location was in good proximity to Helen and property owner gave excellent instructions on utilizing the cabins' features. Would stay here again.

A great place to stay with lots of nearby attractions nearby

This rental is a little off the beaten path, but well worth it. There is a screened in porch to eat dinner/breakfast on the back patio - a hot tub and wrap around porch with fire pit down below. The bedrooms upstairs consisted of two - one with bunk beds and the other with a queen sized bed. On the main floor was the master bedroom. The room was spacious with bathroom. We did find the master bed mattress a bit soft for our taste. TV and cable were available but rarely used/needed. Dishwasher, fridge appliances all worked well and cooking meals were a breeze as we were able to find all pots and pans. The kitchen could use some updated cutlery - forks were a bit scarce. The wifi worked and found to be more reliable than more closer in town rental wifi setups we've experienced elsewhere. All towels, linen clean and neatly organized. Consider stocking up on groceries before arriving - and read the bottom of the welcome email for locations to try out. There is an alarm that needs to be deactivated once entering. :)

Peace of Serenity

  • 4 of 5

Driving down the the upaved road was a little sketchy until i got to the house. Being that it is the last house on the road I felt better. Inside was a wow factor The light wooden panels were a nice surprise. The kitchen stocked with spices and cooking tools but there were no containers, foil or bags for left over. So we had to through food away.Towels and linens are provided but ended up buying more detergent to wash towels after using the hot tub. There was only 2 garbage bags and One Tide pod left out to clean with. But no problem a store was near by and it gave us a chance to visit the town! Couldn't use the grill it used charcoal and there was no need in buying a bag just for the weekend.

All in all good location for activities furthest we went was to Clayton to whitewater raft which was about 45 min away everything else was between 20 min to 12 min away.
