Perfect Location to Visit Both Napa and Sonoma Valley!

About the property

This stylish mid-century modern home was built on a spectacular 4.5-acre setting located in the hills between Sonoma and Napa Valleys. This is the perfect vantage point to explore both Napa and Sonoma. This villa is a fully licensed vacation rental in Sonoma (where vacation rentals are legal), located right in the heart of wine country, a short 60-minute drive from San Francisco.

This villa is convenient to Sonoma and Napa valleys. Two miles one way is the Sonoma Highway (Hwy. 12), a beautiful drive dotted with many wineries, such as, B.R. Cohn, Valley of the Moon, St. Francis, Arrowood, Imagery, Mayo, Wellington, Kunde, Kenwood, Ledson, and many others. On the Sonoma side you will find fun & lively restaurants and wine tasting rooms of the town of Glen Ellen (~2 miles), tasty restaurant and famous spa in Kenwood (~5 miles) or the historic town and restaurants in Sonoma Plaza (~9 miles).

Traveling the other way you reach Highway 29, the main scenic road through the Napa Valley ~8 miles away. In fact, many of the most famous destination towns in the Napa Region are close. Yountville, with the world famous French Laundry and Bouchon restaurants, is ~11 miles away; St. Helena, with its shops and restaurants is ~14 miles away.

In addition the area activities, the villa is also a destination unto itself. Take a dip in your private idyllic pool, like a solar-heated lake amongst the trees. Spend hours playing bocce on your own private bocce court next to a picnic area with a view of your own private little vineyard. Test out that new recipe you have been dying to try in your own gourmet kitchen, with a professional wolf range. Dine alfresco while the sunset casts a warm hue on your amazing view of the “Valley of the Moon.” Or sip wine on the 1,000 square foot deck, with outdoor couches and a view to die for. Enjoy the stars from your private outdoor hot tub. On cold days, cozy-up to the modern fireplace after a long day touring wine country. Take in a movie on a flat screen TV.

This property is behind a private gate in a tranquil setting that cannot be seen from the scenic road on which it sits.

Why Eric chose Glen Ellen

We live in San Francisco, but fell in love with wine country. After years looking, we finally found a home on our favorite road in Sonoma, between the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. We have always been fans of Mid-Century Modern Architecture. We fell in love with this home at first sight. We are avid users of vacation rentals, and this home gives us the opportunity to provide all the amenities we have found so inviting over the years. We hope you love our home as much as we do!

Private, full-sized Bocce Ball Court, with outdoor dining, and with view of hobby vineyard, is located on property in the back yard. This property is a single family residence on a large wooded lot, with no guest homes. There are neighbors in the area, but trees maintain a sense of serenity and privacy. We own the property down the hill in the view areas, so no homes obstruct the view.

Outstanding wine country home!

  • 5 of 5

We had an awesome stay in this beautiful home. We enjoyed the pool and the lovely views, the hot tub and especially learning to play bocce ball. The house was very comfortable and had everything we could need. Although Trinity Road is a winding road, it was perfect for easy access to both Sonoma and Napa Valley. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to return again next time I'm in wine country.

Amazing Sonoma Getaway!!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends & I stayed here for a long weekend and we had the most amazing time!! First of all, the house is BEAUTIFUL!! It's spacious, has an amazing chef's kitchen, a hot tub and a bocce ball court! (Yes, we took advantage of all 3!) It's in a great location, very near downtown Sonoma & a ton of wineries. The homeowner, Eric, was super accommodating, very easy to work with, and very thoughtful in the amenities provided (even little things like a hair dryer!). My only caution to those who get car sick is that the drive to/from the house is pretty windy so be prepared for that. If you have the opportunity to stay here, I would highly recommend it! We would all love to come back some day!

Wine Country Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

There are so many things we loved about this property! First, the views are absolutely amazing! It's so relaxing to sit out on the patio and drink coffee in the morning and enjoy the gorgeous valley views. At night, we enjoyed the hot tub with a glass of wine. It was a little chilly to spend much time in the pool (May) but we jumped in a few times. The house is an entertainers dream vacation house with so much to do! We played ping pong in the basement but didn't get a chance to use the bocce court. The house is fully stocked with everything you could want to cook for an evening. We enjoyed staying in and bbq'ing two nights. Eric is extremely helpful and responsive to questions. This was an amazing wine country gem :) We would definitely stay here again!

A beautiful home with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home. The house itself was beautiful and spacious. The views were amazing!! We cooked breakfast every day and dinner all but one night during our stay. The suggested wineries that Eric provided us were spot-on and we visited several in Sonoma and Napa. Our favorite restaurant for lunch was the Rutherford Grill. We would come back late afternoon, sit on the deck drinking our wine purchased earlier in the day and just enjoy the view. It was a little too cool yet to enjoy the pool, however the hot tub was very nice. We also enjoyed playing Bocce ball nightly. Great fun was had by all.

The steep, twisty-turny road to the house was a little intense at first but, after going up and down and couple of times was no big deal. We can't say enough positive things about our stay here. If we have the opportunity to stay again, we will!!

Had a family celebration in the Napa Valley. This VRBO was just as the pictures indicated. The house was clean, organized and very accommodating. The view was stunning as we spent mornings and evenings on the deck enjoying the scenery.

Is well-located for views, and to visit two of the world's most famous wine regions - Napa Valley and Sonoma. It is close to Sonoma on a scenic ridge between Napa and Sonoma, overlooking the Valley of the Moon (aka Sonoma Valley). Two miles down the road is the quaint village of Glen Ellen, and the Sonoma Highway. Glen Ellen is the site of multiple fine restaurants and a high-end gourmet grocery store. The Sonoma Highway is part of a 17-mile stretch of wineries. Just to the North of Glen Ellen is Kenwood, just five miles away from the property and home to the world class Kenwood Spa and additional restaurants. A 9-mile scenic drive south leads to the historic Sonoma Plaza with restaurants, wine tasting, supermarkets, etc. If you head down the mountain in the other direction, you will find yourself in the Napa Valley, starting at Oakville, with Rutherford, Yountville and St. Helena just a few miles beyond.
