About Else Reed
We met on a chairlift at a nearby ski resort, a lucky pairing of a Dutch woman and a local man. Right after we married, Else taught windsurfing here. Seeing the sunny shore on the lake’s northeast corner, she said, “We should buy a cottage there someday.” After raising our children, we bought this cottage to enjoy when it’s not rented. Because we live in town, we’ll greet you, hand over the keys and show you around. Questions? We know the area.
Else Reed purchased this cottage in 2012
Why Else Reed chose Canandaigua
“Canandaigua” means “The Chosen Place” in the Seneca Indian language. In 1922, founders of the Canandaigua Country Club chose a sunny pasture just over the City line and built our area’s first golf course. To pay for it, they sold 40 lakefront lots for just $600 each. This cottage colony became the lake’s most desired location. When you’re here, you’ll understand why. Two families who rented from us bought their own cottages on our street. Read their reviews.
What makes this cottage unique
“Sunny, secluded and walkable” sums up the 5-star reviews. Your stay includes amenities like Central A/C, laundry machines & King-size beds, plus FREE kayaks, propane grill, linens, towels & Wi-Fi. Area attractions? All nearby. Our town has no Sales or Occupancy Tax. Also, we don’t charge manager’s fees.
