Awesome condo! Clean!! Hoping to make Maui an annual visit, and will definitely use this condo again.

If there had to be a 'downside', was a little difficult to find. But, that could have been our fault. Long flight, late at night arrival, tired........ But, the Maalaea Bay Rental sign is not very visible in the foliage of the bushes.

I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone looking to visit Maui. The view was incredible and the location is very central so Lahaina, Kahalui, and Kehei were all short drives. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds and furniture were comfortable. Having a full working kitchen meant we were able to cook at home and save money by going out to eat less frequently. The pool was nice, although management was very strict (aka passive aggressively hovering) about no jumping, diving, running, splashing, yelling, screaming, playing music, talking, having fun, or basically using the pool at all... Despite that, we still used the pool everyday and had a great time and it was a peaceful quiet space to lay in the sun or cool off. Having a ground level unit meant the kids could run and play outside and walk to the pool without having to go up and down the stairs. Although, be aware that where the grass meets the ocean is a rock wall with a 5+ foot drop onto rocks, so we had to monitor my toddler very closely to make sure he didn't get near the edge. Also, on multiple days we saw huge sea turtles eating the seaweed growing on the wall, so they were literally 5-10 feet below us on the wall, which my kids LOVED! My only real complaint was the weak A/C. The A/C unit was mostly able to cool the condo, but the second bedroom was still quite warm. There also weren't any fans which might have helped move the cool air from the A/C around. There were plenty of bath towels and beach towels. The TV and DVD player were great but be sure to bring your own DVD's. The laundry in unit was super useful and having 2 full bathrooms was awesome. We were also able to walk to the marina for our 6am snorkeling trip to Molokini, to the aquarium, to some shops and cafes, and to Haycraft Park and Sugar Beach. We also rented the unit next door #6636 and could just walk between the units using the back sliding doors. It was much cheaper and more convenient than trying to find a 4 bedroom house with a pool that close to the ocean. It was a great way to travel with a larger group. Hopefully we can make our way back again! Thanks!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Lauloa #109. Just to clarify we "do" have overhead ceiling fans in every room but it might be a good idea for us to purchase a couple of floor fans. Thanks for your comments. We look forward to seeing you again. Aloha!

Wake up to a soft breeze as the sun rises over Haleakala. For seasoned Hawaii travelers ready to experience Maui at it's very best...... leave the the resorts to the masses. The marine life in Maalea Bay is at your doorstep, so no need to book the charters. Whales and turtles galore! LauLoa # 109 is beautifully appointed with all modern furnishings and recently tiled lanai. The central location allows easy access to east and west Maui attractions and dining. We have spent our winter getaway here for many years and wouldn't consider any other option.
