Only 30 minutes from Chattanooga, this is the place to put the world aside and revisit the two of you. You're sure to leave with renewed love and new memories gained by exploring this almost 100 year old country home and surrounding area. When you're talking 100 years, there has to be some history. Learn of the original builders' lives and visit Chief McLemore's grave marker which is on the property. The area is known as Tricum and McLemore's Cove - discover why. Enjoy the hot tub, and you've never seen stars like these. An itinerary of little known things to do nearby is provided. Relax on the mountain view deck or hear the creek ripple from the long country porch and enjoy the morning sunshine. Romance is in the air.

About Colleen Crawford
I (Colleen) am a writer and business owner, and this country home served me well. We moved here from Pennsylvania in 2000, raised three kids, and I ran my business and continued to write. We knew it would be a labor of love, but the mountain view and a cool serenity in the air which we felt at none of our other choices sold me on this place. (Yes, my husband let me make the choice). I always considered it my "piece of paradise" and my peaceful abode. But I'm the only one who didn't mind the daily long drive to civilization (a throw-back to my childhood), so we moved closer to Chattanooga, and now the house in the Cove is ALL MINE. I'm so excited to share it with you, and truly hope and pray you, as a couple, renew your relationship and have fun doing so while here!

Very nice setting with a large kitchen and nice countertops and cooktop.
Owner was good to work with and check in and check out was very simple. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was large and comfortable.
Nice house, lots of room
Nice quiet place with great view of the mountains.
Although the property was situated nicely, stocked nicely and a lot nicer than staying in a small hotel room for three days, the smell of dead mice plays an important part in my review. Apparently there is a mouse problem with the amount of mouse poison around and apparently they are dying in the house or in the walls. I know this is probably something that cannot be fixed easily, but it would affect my staying here again. Sorry.
I'm glad you enjoyed the place, but sorry you had this experience with a dead mouse, Janice. I would have sent someone to take care of it had I known.
All is well at the house. I do have a monthly pest control service come spray for bugs and maintain mouse bait traps. The field next door was cut which, I believe, spurred activity.
Country life can be a challenge. ;)
Nice homey atmosphere ‘
Outside could be a little better maintained. Spiderwebs, chairs broken by fire pit.
Was nice for what we needed it to be.
There were no issues really.....just a few things:
1. The front room by the front door had quite a bit of mold on the door and the dresser....
2. The decor is not very cohesive.
3. The hot tub took a very long time to heat up.
Loved this place...
It was wonderful and we will return again!
Take in the mountain view from the deck. Build a fire in the pit and enjoy the mountain sunset and relax in the hot tub while you enjoy music and the stars. Drive a short distance to "The Pocket" walking trail and waterfall. Take an unforgettable drive up the back of the Lookout Mountain and visit the the cute, tiny shops in Mentone, AL. - you're sure to find antiques. Don't forget to stop at Wildflower Cafe while there - make sure you try their Sweet Poatoe Biscuits! Caving is available just a short distance away. And there is often some event happening at Mountain Cove Farms.
