About Colleen Crawford
I (Colleen) am a writer and business owner, and this country home served me well. We moved here from Pennsylvania in 2000, raised three kids, and I ran my business and continued to write. We knew it would be a labor of love, but the mountain view and a cool serenity in the air which we felt at none of our other choices sold me on this place. (Yes, my husband let me make the choice). I always considered it my "piece of paradise" and my peaceful abode. But I'm the only one who didn't mind the daily long drive to civilization (a throw-back to my childhood), so we moved closer to Chattanooga, and now the house in the Cove is ALL MINE. I'm so excited to share it with you, and truly hope and pray you, as a couple, renew your relationship and have fun doing so while here!

Peace and quiet
A lovely and interesting home off the beaten path with plenty of character and charm, but with all the modern conveniences and technology to keep us very comfortable. The peace and stillness we found there was a balm to our tired souls. A deer wandered through the yard in the evening, and a little rabbit visited often. The crepe myrtles were in full bloom and the morning mist on the mountain was mesmerizing. The bed was very comfortable, and the towels and linens were first rate. If rest is what you need, this is the place. Colleen is wonderful to work with and responds very quickly.
This was the perfect get-a-way from it all. It’s in the country away from the hustle of the city. The property was clean and well maintained. Stargazing in the hot tub nightly was the best way to end the day. Colleen was wonderful to work with, even when we had a change to our reservation. We absolutely loved our stay and it was obvious how much she cared for the property. She thought of several little details and touches. We would definitely book her property again if in the area.
nice and quiet mountain view
older farm house but very nicely arranged. close to attractions but still in the country. love the cove!
REST AND RELAX JUST OUTSIDE A BIG CITY
We had a few days alone, just with each other. No kids, no employees. no grands. We needed to stay close to all those peeps but not too close.
We wanted to be in the country, in a relaxing home, with a hot tub and room to relax.
We got all that and actually had a sweet romantic time.
Clean. Unique home. Come onex come all. This place is terrific,!
The place was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Perfect for a relaxing weekend.
Beautiful Country property and the perfect spot for us to stay away from city life. We came from Louisiana to attend a friend’s wedding. Arrived late at night in the rain, settled in, and woke the next morning to a breathtaking view of the mountains. Had a weather related power surge, but Colleen quickly responded with any questions we had about restoring power to part of the house. Be sure to read the articles and bit of history about the house and property that she left. It’s quite interesting! Would love to visit again and take advantage of the hiking trails nearby.
Take in the mountain view from the deck. Build a fire in the pit and enjoy the mountain sunset and relax in the hot tub while you enjoy music and the stars. Drive a short distance to "The Pocket" walking trail and waterfall. Take an unforgettable drive up the back of the Lookout Mountain and visit the the cute, tiny shops in Mentone, AL. - you're sure to find antiques. Don't forget to stop at Wildflower Cafe while there - make sure you try their Sweet Poatoe Biscuits! Caving is available just a short distance away. And there is often some event happening at Mountain Cove Farms.
