Custom built our home in 2009. Family homesteaded in West Glacier in late 1800's. We enjoy living in West Glacier year round and all that the outdoors and seasons have to offer.
owner/property manager purchased this house in 2009
Only two miles to Park entrance, dining, rafting and golfing yet when at home you experience the solitude of mountain living.
No matter what direction you look, the scenery is priceless!
Can't say enough about this wonderful home. Our "Gourmet Dinner Group" friends joined us for an adventure in Glacier, and this home was perfect! The location of this home is great for easy access to the park, and the views are fabulous! The kitchen was well equipped for all the wonderful meals we created, and why go anywhere else to dine when the ambiance is perfect right there. We very much enjoyed our evenings by the fire pit, drinking coffee and watching shooting stars - and we saw many! The house is beautifully designed and decorated, warm and inviting, and a reflection of its creators - Marcey and her husband. My husband and I have been to Glacier N.P. many times and there is always something new to explore - a beautiful, inspiring place to visit. We hope to bring kids and grandkids one year, and this home is where we want to stay. Highly recommend it!!! Thank you, Marcey, for sharing your beautiful home!
In June of this year, my fiance and I rented this beautiful home to house our families while we visited Montana. We stayed a week and wish we could've stayed longer! We had 9 adults and 1 child. This home was perfectly comfortable for everyone. Each day we explored Glacier National Park and every night we took turns cooking dinner at the house and eating around the table as one big family. Our stay in this home was so comfortable. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, along with a 2nd living room in the nice finished basement. The master bathroom was awesome with a huge walk in shower and big tub!And another full bath on the main level. No one ever fought for a bathroom or was displaced in any way! The pictures do not give it justice. When we pulled into the driveway, the views were just breath taking! We were able to have a couple of nice camp fires and just enjoy great weather all around! And you cannot beat the comfort so close to the park.
**Remember to cover the windows during the day upstairs as it will heat up the house a lot on those good sunny days. (I wasn't aware and we had one warm night - but was great after that) and carry bear spray!!! Don't assume you won't need it. We spotted a grizzly, a black bear and big horned sheep. Be prepared!
We met Mrs. Marcy and she was lovely. Just a very sweet host and gave us some good boating tips for a nearby lake. (We had a blast!)
We shopped for groceries in Kallispell, had pizza our fist night at the little dinner that was across from the train station (about 1/2 mile up the road from the house) - Best Pizza Ever! And one night we had a night out at Belton Chalet and it was just the right mix of upscale service, unique food and a relaxing atmosphere.
Better than that was our adventures at Glacier National Park. John's Lake hike and Going to the Sun Road are must do's! If you can find Lake McDonald's Ranger station, you can can see some of the prettiest views and do some serious rock skipping.
The house was very accommodating and made our stay that much better. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
We stayed here summer before last and absolutely loved it! The home was beautiful and the location could not have been better. I often find myself dreaming about the amazing views from the front porch. Would definitely recommend! I've rented many, many vacation homes and this one was probably my favorite.
What a wonderful, beautiful home and location! Mountain views from every window (and there are a lot of big windows)! My husband and I brought our sons 27, 25 and 10 along with our oldest son's fiance', our niece and her boyfriend. The weather did not cooperate so we spent more time than intended at the house and still had a ball! Never felt crowded at all with all the space in the house. Everyone seemed to find the perfect little nook with a view when they wanted some space. Very comfortable home away from home. We all enjoyed it immensely! Can't wait to come back to rent your home in the future Marcey! Thank you!
What a wonderful vacation! From the minute we stepped into this property to the day we had to leave we had the best time. Location was perfect - a few minute drive to West Glacier. The house itself is amazing. It's very large and spacious and perfect for multiple families. We could have sat outside and enjoyed the views the entire time but knew we also wanted to explore Glacier National Park. The house was clean, plenty of bedrooms (we had 8 of us and could have had more), had all of the items needed including a washer & dryer! It was decorated so fitting for the location - loved all of the elk mounts! I hope we can return sooner than later! Thank you McAtee's for sharing your home with us! Until next time....
We chose this home for it's convenient location just minutes away from the west entrance to the magnificent Glacier National Park. But the moment we stepped into the McAtee's beautiful house, we felt right at home. The house is beautifully decorated and spacious and everyone in our group of seven felt comfortable and had plenty of space.
The wraparound deck was excellent for viewing the mountains, watching the hummingbirds and just relaxing. The Amtrak train line below was never a nuisance. Marcey and Rich certainly made us feel welcome. Marcey's kindness really went over the top when she literally went the extra mile to came to our rescue when our vehicle broke down. She came all the way into the park to gave the majority of our group a ride back home while my son and I went with the vehicle to get repaired. We will never forget her kindness!
We enjoyed their property and will certainly return in future.
