Why Jacob Blades chose Orange Beach East

We bought in Lei Lani due to its small density (only 49 units), location and proxemity to the beach. From the elevator you only walk over a short warf (to protect the dunes) to be on the beach.

What makes this condo unique

The umbrella rental service is super no need to schlep all those beach chairs and umbrells with this service so close. Enjoy your beach vacation in the turquoise waters of Orange Beach.

Good Property needs minor adjustments

  • 4 of 5

The property is good location just steps from the gulf. The bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs are very small and needs minor cleaning.

The loft bedroom and bath is very nice and is very large, but there is no privacy but great for children, also the laundry is upstairs just off the loft bedroom which is very inconvenient. You may want to note vrbo charges a cleaning fee and parking pass fee which the owner wanted to charge again, but they did wave the cleaning fee. I came in on Sunday and the office was closed so when I went to get my parking passes the manager said they were $20.00 each and I explained it was included in my vrbo fee which I had paid and he said vrbo did not pay them for the passes it was the guest responsibility . So I didn't mention the parking pass fee to the owner. I just paid the $4o.oo for 2 parking passes at the condo.I'm only out $15.00 that vrbo charged. Other than these minor problems it is a great place to stay and we enjoyed it. Knowing these things it will make it a wonderful place to vacation without confusion.

Consideration before renting

  • 4 of 5

The condo was nice with everything that we needed, The only thing that should be noted is that the third bedroom is a loft. Since we had 3 couoles that did not give much privacy for the couple in that room. Also the only room with a good tv was the third bedroom. The 2nd bedroom didn't have one and the one in the master bedroom wss very small and didn't work well.

Good stay

  • 5 of 5

The condo was very nice and comfortably furnished. The kitchen was stocked more than other rentals I have stayed in. We had 8 people and there was enough room in the condo for everyone. The kids loved the beach and outdoor pool. The bathroom towels/washcloths could use replacements. We were able to see sharks, jellyfish, dolphins and fish in the water. We were also able to watch fireworks from the balcony during the 4th; no need to drive anywhere for that!

Overall we enjoyed our time at this condo.

The condo itself is great.....the building on the other hand

  • 4 of 5

The condo itself is very nice. The upstairs loft is much bigger than the picture shows it to be. I would have like an outside porch light and fan but their was only one night the fan was really needed. Be sure to bring essentials such as toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags and extra towels both for the beach and bathrooms. The two MAJOR issues we had during our stay were parking and the elevators. Parking is a nightmare, they do not provide enough parking for the guest plus their is construction going on at the building and instead of parking under the building the construction crew took up 8 spaces and people were parking on top of each other. The elevator stopped working....with me inside and for someone whose worst fear is getting stuck in an elevator this was a nightmare. We pushed the alarm but no one came and I called my husband who went to the office and someone came and got us out. After talking to other guest, this elevator seems to have had it out for us as it broke down with several other guest inside...hopefully they get that fixed immediately. Another thing to note is if you are planning on setting up a tent for young children, you will not be able to do that on Lei Lanai property as they have a no tent rule. We were however able to set our tent up on the neighboring condo property during our stay so it worked out fine. Also, lots of people leave their chairs at the bottom of the condo so they don't have to lugg them up and down and we decided on our last night to leave them at the bottom where the carts are and retrieve them after our showers, in the hour we were upstairs our chairs were stolen. This had nothing to do with the condo but just a warning to reconsider leaving your items down there. The owner was great and very responsive. I emailed him at 11 on the night we arrived about a small issue and by 9 the next morning they were calling. Mr. Blades was very pleasant and had a quick response time to my questions leading up to the trip and during our stay. Once they get the elevators fix and construction is complete this will be an even better place to stay.

Orange Beach is replete with fantastic restaurants, beautiful beaches and an exciting night life. The world famous FloraBama is within walking distance. Deep Sea Charter Fishing is just over the bridge as well as the opportunity to SCUBA dive the 'Mighty' Oriskany, the recently sunk aircraft carrier that is now a major underwater attraction. Pensacola and the Blue Angles are only 45 min. away.
