3100 SF Home, large open rooms, back yard, fire pit, volleyball, ...
I love quiet places, fine art, family, and creating fond memories for others. I grew up in Massachusetts, I am a veteran, and I have 4 grown children. My goal is to exceed my guests expectations, and provide a comfortable, warm, and inviting, 'homeaway' from home for those who find themselves in Wichita, for work or play!!!
Owner purchased this House in 1997
Why Owner chose Wichita
This property is special to me because I raised my family in this home, and have so many of life's precious memories in this place. We still use it for family re-unions and get togethers. We have large families that do not live near us, so this house is perfect for us to hold onto, and use to be a blessing to others.
What makes this House unique
This home is spacious. it is 3100 sf of living space. Large open living rooms, and comfortable bedrooms. This home is 5 minutes from I-135 highway which runs North and South through the city. Our guests can get to the airport or most other destinations in the city in 20 minutes or less. It's perfectly located for convenience, and yet it is completely private and secluded, like having a small park in your backyard. I invite you to come enjoy the home and Wichita, both have lots to offer.

5 Star Stay!
5 adults + 1 almost 2yr old + 1 5month old
And we had soooo much space! This home is palatial. Poor little 2yr old got lost once, then we had trouble tracking him. LOL! All beds got thumbs up. Bedrooms large enough for a packnplay. Hot tub is sparkling clean. Lots of chairs outside to enjoy an adult beverage and stargaze. The entire house is well supplied and CLEAN. Everything was well maintained and in working order. I honestly can't think of a single thing wrong with this property. We felt very safe and secure. Home is sturdy and tight. Terrible thunderstorm went thru on our second night, but you could barely hear anything inside! You can't use the 3 car garage (No big deal) but its presence ensures plenty of parking and turnaround space. Big backyard! Both bathrooms have maintained the color and charm of the 1950s/60s, when it was built. One is green and the other is pink. Especially appreciated the art deco style of the sinks. You don't see those every day! Purpose of trip was for a family wedding. Next time we attend a family event, and need a place to stay in Wichita, you can bet we'll be staying at Candy's home. Thank you, Candy! We enjoyed staying at your place!
we enjoyed the property, it was what we needed with 7 grade boys with us for a basketball tournament. we would have liked to spend more time, but most of our time at the house was eating and sleeping and then off to the courts.
the kitchen is fully equipped to handle all cooking that you needed to do, and 13/14 year old boys eat a lot.
I definiotely would stay again when we are playing in the area,
Overall a great experience
This was very last minute, but Candy approved us almost immediately. Check in was accomplished by text and was very painless as well.
The property is quite dated, but not to a degree that would cause discomfort. Wish there was better lighting in the bathroom, I’m a shower shaver and the LED light strips (that I bought batteries for) don’t cut it. The house itself is sparsely but comfortably furnished, and the kitchen well appointed with most of what you might need.
Our grandkids LOVED the large yard, there are balls provided and lots of running space (there used to be a frisbee, but we lost it over the fence 😬). We lit the fire pit a few evenings to make s’mores, plenty of deadfall wood lying around.
We only had one real issue, day two the grill ran out of propane. I sent Candy a text at 10:30PM asking if she could change it out before the following evening, and she came and did it immediately that night!
In short, in similar circumstances I would be happy to stay here again.
We loved our stay here and I recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable fun place to stay while visiting Wichita. The house is amazing and so many amenities, Perfect place for a family vacation.
HUGE, great living room with large TV. Lots of ceiling fans. Older home but modern appliances. Hot water and great water pressure (important). Candy was great to work with. There are several step up/downs into rooms that could be an issue for an elder persons or toddlers, but we made it work just fine. Hope to be a repeat guest one day.

Enjoyed our stay at Candy's beautiful home. It is well kept and had nearly everything we needed. It was more than enough room for the six of us! Plenty of room for all of us to sit together for Christmas dinner. I would rent Candy's home again, it's close to Derby and close to I35 to get just about anywhere else in Wichita.
Thank you Candy!
