Beautiful, but busy/loud location
The house itself is great -- quaint little cottage with a 1960s feel. It's super clean, well maintained, and well stocked with cooking supplies. The landscaping is great and has a very Zen feel to it and a great hammock, and the screened-in porch is amazing. The cove the house is on is great for paddle boarding, and the views up the lake at sunset are spectacular. One sizable room has a queen bed, and there are two other small bedrooms right off the living room with bunk beds. There's a decent sized dock if you have a small boat (smaller than 24ft), and we'd recommend this house if you're going to be out on the lake on a boat most days. However, if you're looking for a lake house to relax and swim at, maybe look elsewhere. Because the Ambrose Cove Marina is 20 yards (max) across the cove, it is a VERY busy and loud location. Even when there aren't boats and jet skis pulling in and out of the marina, or boats and jet skis pulling up to get gas, the noise from the marina is overwhelming: a huge tractor/forklift constantly bringing boats to the water and pulling them out, voices of all the people working there, engines and machinery, etc. It is constant at all times of the day, even late at night. And, the swimming and dock area for the house overlook the marina, so it's hard to escape the noise and the busy feel of the marina.
Thank you for your thoughtful review, as well as your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the home, that you found it well-appointed and that you liked the screened-in porch as much as we do! We sincerely apologize about the noise and the hustle and bustle of the marina. We do understand how that might put a bit of a damper on your vacation. We would like the opportunity to provide you with a better experience the next time you visit the Lakes Region.
