This original lakefront log cabin was built in the late1930s as a fishing camp. It has a private dock and a spectacular view of Crooked Lake. This lake is a beautiful 110 acre all sports lake adjacent to the Waterloo Recreation Area. The recreation area encompasses 20,000 acres, has 47 miles of hiking trails, fishing lakes, nature and equestrian trails.
The cabin is approximately 950 sq. ft., with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. It still maintains the rustic ambiance but has been updated with modern conveniences. The front bedroom has a Queen bed and there are 2 built in log twin beds. Ideal as a private retreat for a couple or 4 people, but is capable of sleeping 6. The log sofa in the living room can be converted to a full size futon bed.
The lake has a public boat launch and you may bring your own boat. We provide a paddle boat, canoe and a couple of kayaks for your use.

Sports & Adventure Activities
Clean, quiet and close
Great weekend get away. The Cottage is just what we wanted - a Cottage - and not a house on a lake. Few distractions and lots to do. Lots being, not much of anything.
Kayaks and other water toys are provided. The lake has a sandy bottom and the water is clear. The paddle boat / pedal-o is world class. Even has a swimming ladder.
Hosts are friendly and everything is provided. Loved the snore ingredients and bottle of wine welcome gift.
Wonderful, secluded, quaint, relaxing
If you want a quiet beautiful getaway to relax and look out across a beautiful small lake without people around this is it. The cabin is so unique, cozy and spotless. Romantic for a couple to curl up in front of a wood fire or a great place to take your children to reconnect as a family and enjoy board games, canoeing, kayaking or miles of walking trails in a nearby recreation Area. Can't say enough good about the charmimg owners who left marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate bars to make smores in the fire pit. We celebrated the beginning of retirement here. Fresh flowers from their garden and a bottle of wine awaited us. Couldn't be a better place.
Beautiful view of Crooked Lake.
The cabin has everything you need to stay here. The view of the lake is beautiful and the area is very peaceful. The cabin was very clean and bug free. The city of Chelsea is ten minutes away and has shopping and plenty of restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.
Quiet with a great view
Clean, quiet, decent fishing and dog friendly. We'd definitely consider visiting again.
A relaxing and convenient spot for a few days away
My mom and I stayed here for two nights with her dog. (It was great to be able to bring the dog!) The lake is beautiful and peaceful. There are neighbors close by, but it was nonetheless quiet while we were there. Doreen was a great host, leaving a bottle of wine and dog treats as a welcome gift and always being responsive and available to assist (she lives a couple of houses down). The cabin was well-equipped with kayaks, a SUP, and a pedal boat. It was also easy to swim from right outside the cabin.
The cabin itself was rustic but comfortable.
We also appreciated the convenience of a quick drive from Metro Detroit and accessibility to shops and restaurants.
Birthday celebration dinner at Crooked Lake Log Cabin
Crooked Lake Log Cabin was a great place to enjoy family.... everyone in my party has such a wonderful time... and our hostesses was the best... thank you
The log cabin is located 6 miles from the village of Chelsea and 22 miles from Ann Arbor. It is only 3 miles from the expressway (I-94), yet secluded and away from all the bustle once you arrive at this lakeside sanctuary.
