About Kendall Hale

I am a professional massage therapist and yoga instructor, gardener, violinist, vocalist, and spend lots of time hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live at Sharon Spring, a family homestead with my husband, dog, a few chickens, and sometimes cows. We are bee keepers, gardeners, grow raspberries, blueberries and harvest wild blackberries all over our pastures. We make applesauce from a few apple trees, jams from the berries, and honey from our precious bees that we struggle to keep alive.

Kendall Hale purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Kendall Hale chose Blue Ridge Mountains

We moved here from Boston 23 years ago, and fell in love with the Asheville area. The magical blue mist of the mountains captured our imagination, and within a year we purchased this old tobacco farm in Fairview, with its overflowing spring, song birds, flowering trees, and pastures. We love outdoor swimming, so within 2 years added a pond a dock and gazebo. It has been a labor of love, caring and re-creating this very special place to enjoy and share with our guests and visitors.

What makes this cabin unique

We lived in the original farmhouse, built a second home, and then created Sharon Spring Cabin, combining my bodywork and yoga skills, our love of wood burning sauna, and our desire to create a sustainable homestead where I could host guests in a peaceful, relaxing environment close to the exiting city of Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and outdoor adventures for biking, walking, bird watching, hiking, & water sports.

A true gem

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Sharon Springs to celebrate our 13th anniversary. It was an extremely relaxing weekend- the perfect getaway! We loved the beautiful views, and the quiet, simple comfort of the cabin. We were able to sleep with all the windows open and awake to the sound of birds chirping in the morning. Being able to get a massage and use the sauna were just an added bonus, along with watching fireflies in the pasture from the hot tub. Thanks Kendall for creating a place where one can truly feel relaxed, restored and at peace! We will definitely return!

Enjoyed our stay!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this little cabin outside of Asheville. It was an excellent place for dogs with a little trail in the back. The owner, who lives next door, was very nice when she met us to give us the key. Uber to downtown was $13-$15. Central to the blue ridge parkway and some excellent hikes. We did the graveyard fields hike and went down to Dupont for the waterfalls. Two things to be aware of: the living space is on the top floor and fully open (the bottom area in the picture is unaccessible) and there is no cable television (TV with DVD; Because it was NCAA b-ball tournament, I took an HDMI cord and hooked up to my Directv account). Thanks for an enjoyable stay!

Great Experience

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Kendall's Cabin was a great experience. The location is perfect - only 15 minutes from downtown Asheville, located far away enough from everything to feel secluded, and in a location where you have an amazing view of the surrounding mountains.

The cabin is well kept and has everything you need. The hot tub, massage and sauna option, all added to the overall great, relaxing experience. We will be back!

Perfect Private Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Kendall's cabin and property were beyond beautiful. She is a wonderful host and full of information about the area. There is so much to like about this rental. The cabin itself has a large loft feel with beautiful hardwoods and lots of space which we loved. It was simply decorated but had everything we needed for a private getaway for 2. We loved star-gazing from the hot tub at night. I had a two-hour massage and my husband and I loved the hot stone sauna! These amenities really make the experience complete - highly recommended!

The property has a farm with cows, gardens, a pond, and beautiful flowers. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. It's hard to not be happy when you look out the window ;-)

The cabin is a short drive into Asheville - about 15 min. The Blue Ridge Parkway is just a few minutes away and there is a lot of hiking in the area. We loved being close to the city but far enough away that we didn't have to hear sirens and traffic all night. I also highly recommend The Local Joint in Fairview. They have amazing food and great customer service. We ate there 3 times in 3 days! I wish they had a place like that where we live.

We ate out every meal so we didn't grill or use the kitchen very much but you have everything you need to cook if you so choose.

We are so spoiled with this place I don't think we would stay anywhere else when we visit Asheville again!
