About Kendall Hale
I am a professional massage therapist and yoga instructor, gardener, violinist, vocalist, and spend lots of time hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live at Sharon Spring, a family homestead with my husband, dog, a few chickens, and sometimes cows. We are bee keepers, gardeners, grow raspberries, blueberries and harvest wild blackberries all over our pastures. We make applesauce from a few apple trees, jams from the berries, and honey from our precious bees that we struggle to keep alive.
Kendall Hale purchased this Cabin in 1995
Why Kendall Hale chose Fairview
We moved here from Boston 23 years ago, and fell in love with the Asheville area. The magical blue mist of the mountains captured our imagination, and within a year we purchased this old tobacco farm in Fairview, with its overflowing spring, song birds, flowering trees, and pastures. We love outdoor swimming, so within 2 years added a pond a dock and gazebo. It has been a labor of love, caring and re-creating this very special place to enjoy and share with our guests and visitors.
What makes this Cabin unique
We lived in the original farmhouse, built a second home, and then created Sharon Spring Cabin, combining my bodywork and yoga skills, our love of wood burning sauna, and our desire to create a sustainable homestead where I could host guests in a peaceful, relaxing environment close to the exiting city of Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway and outdoor adventures for biking, walking, bird watching, hiking, & water sports.

Our favorite place to get away from it all!
We just love staying here! This was our second visit to Sharon Springs, and we’re so happy that we chose to come back here. We came for our 10th anniversary and our first time traveling without our children. Everything that you need to relax and reconnect is right there.
We especially love the sauna treatments. You won’t find a better way to detoxify your body and mind than Kendall’s sauna. Sit in the sauna and sweat your cares away, then step outside on the lovely deck to cool off on the swing. Or, take a little stroll down to the koi pond and inhale the sweet smells all around you. It’s the ultimate in relaxation!
You can also get a wonderful massage with Kendall. My husband and I chose to do the hot stone massage and it was so nice. She really knows how to give a perfect massage and focused on our trouble spots really well. It’s really great that you can just walk to your massage and then walk back to the cabin for a nap afterwards!
We also love hot tub on the back deck. It’s so wonderful to sit in there at night and watch the stars. The privacy and quietness are so nice.
The cabin is so quaint and relaxing. It has everything you need right there. You can cook a meal, listen to music on the surround sound, or watch a movie. The views of the mountains from the deck and inside the cabin are phenomenal. The bed is also VERY comfortable. My husband often gets back pain when we travel because the beds aren’t good. But he doesn’t have any troubles here, which is amazing considering how much napping and sleeping late that we do when we’re here!
The cottage is tucked away in a lovely natural setting, it’s very easy to access yet feels far away from it all. If you want to enjoy all that Asheville has to offer, you’re just a short drive away. There’s a grocery store and a few delicious restaurants right around the corner.
If you’re looking to unwind and reconnect with your partner, you won’t find a more ideal place than Sharon Springs! We can’t wait to return here soon. It’s the only place we’ll consider staying at when we want to visit the area. It was the perfect anniversary getaway!
A very relaxing weekend. The view from the hot tub was amazing & the location was a plus. Would definitely come back.
Overall amazing place. Great hot tub. Massage and yoga with Kendal was great. Kendall is also very knowledgeable with area hiking an restaurants.
Kendall’s wellness retreat cabin was exactly what we needed! We were able to bring our favorite side-kick, our Australian Shepherd, to walk the trails and enjoy the beauty and quiet of their homestead, open and very comfortable accommodations. We chose the private yoga class and 2 massages for our anniversary. Kendell’s gentle spirit and professional techniques were notable. And if you don’t need to go into Asheville specifically, the local food was delicious, and scenery was just God showing off! We will return!
This cabin is in a great location - only 15 mins to Asheville and yet in a great mountain setting. The views are amazing and the windows are configured so you can see all of it! While the owner's house is just next door, the configuration of the buildings makes both very private. The cabin is super comfortable with a great layout. The hot tub is perfect and the availability of the sauna & massages on site (extra charge, but VERY reasonable) really makes this is a one of a kind get away spot. There are short hikes you can do without leaving the property and access to all the area has to offer not far away. The kitchen is small, so if you're planning on extensive cooking, it could be difficult, but it's got everything you need on vacation. Kendall (the owner) is superb with her guests, making sure you feel comfortable and have what you need. Highly recommend this for couples or small families.
Comfortable, relaxing, private with fantastic views
Kendall was an amazing host who has thought of everything. Her property is a beautiful quiet property that immediately relaxes you when you get there. The walking trails were particularly enjoyable having brought my two dogs. Close proximity to downtown Asheville but tucked into the mountains too. I would highly recommend this rental to family and friends and in fact I already have.
Fairview is a rural community on the way to Chimney Rock Park, with sustainable farms & tours, organic restaurant & grocery, the
historic Hickory Nut Gap Farm, spectacular mountain views, star filled skies, hiking, waterfalls, gorges, streams, swimming, fishing,
horseback riding. In 15 minutes you can drive to downtown Asheville for music, dance, great food, shopping, the famous drum circle, local beer, street theatre, art galleries, and more!
