"MY CABIN IN THE MOUNTAINS" can be "your very own" cabin in the mountains. Maybe you've always wanted a place where you could go to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway in the beautiful Smokey Mountains. Well now, you can HAVE that special place, without having to take out another mortgage for a second vacation home. You can just adopt, "our" cabin, as "your" cabin -- Your Cabin In The Mountains.
The cabin is surrounded the very beautiful Nantahala National Forest. It is located 2 miles North of Dillard, GA and just across the state line in North Carolina. Getting to the cabin is easy as there are no steep mountain roads to navigate. You don't need a 4-wheel drive vehicle or even an SUV, and in the winter, ice on the roads has never been a problem where we are. The cabin is just one mile off US-441, but it is still secluded amongst the trees where it is quiet and very private.
WHAT IS THERE TO DO UP HERE:
Nearby the cabin are many hiking trails, many gorgeous waterfalls you can actually drive to, some amazing waterfalls you can hike to, and world-class zip lining canopy tours.. Also nearby is Black Rock Mountain State Park, which is Georgia's highest (in elevation) state park. A little further away there is flat-water rafting and tubing and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. But by far, what our guests say they enjoy more than anything else, is sitting around the cabin, or out on the deck, listening to the sound of birds and crickets --- and just relaxing.
THE TWO NEAREST SMALL TOWNS:
Franklin, NC is 12 miles to the North of the cabin, and Clayton, GA is 8 miles to the South. Both Franklin and Clayton provide numerous restaurant choices, several grocery store, and a downtown Main Street shopping experience. Also, both have 24-hour Walmart stores. (Also, just 2 miles to the South is the tiny town of Dillard, GA.)
WE ARE HERE, IF AND WHEN, YOU NEED US:
We are retired, and we enjoy sharing the cabin with "old friends" who have stayed here many times before, and with "new friends" who are staying here for their first time. Our home is just a stone's throw from the cabin, so we are very available to answer any questions that you might have, or handle any situation that might come up while you are here. We are very happy to do whatever we can to make your stay here both enjoyable and memorable.

NOTE REGARDING COVID-19:
Because of the pandemic, we have enhanced our "between guests" cleaning regime. In addition to our regular, thorough cleaning and laundry regimen, we also disinfect highly-touched, and hard surfaces, with a CDC-recommended spray solution of 50% alcohol and 50% hydrogen peroxide. To be sure we have enough time to get everything done in-between guests, we've had to move our normal checkout time from 11:00 am to 10:00 am. If you don't think you'll be able to check-out by 10:00, please let us know.
SPECIAL NOTE: To insure the health and comfort of all our future guests, we are not able to accommodate smokers, or pets . . . . . or, smoking pets.
