About Jack and Mary Ellen
The owners are from the Hudson Valley and live full time on the property in a separate home they built in 2000.
Jack and Mary Ellen purchased this House in 2008
Why Jack and Mary Ellen chose Hudson
We love the Hudson Valley and wanted to share our view of the river and mountains with our family and friends and now guests. The property is contiguous to our original property and when the opportunity presented itself we made the purchase and completely renovated our 'guest house'.
What makes this House unique
The views of the Hudson River and Catskill Mountains are breathtaking and the glorious sunsets never cease to amaze. The privacy and tranquillity along with the astonishing wildlife makes this property a true treasure.

Simply the best
This was our second stay at the Hudson River House and we’ve already booked our next visit. The house is built and decorated beautifully. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for preparing meals. The views across the river are stunning. 5 minutes drive to downtown Hudson. Highly recommended.
Consistently Perfect Getaway!
I've written other reviews of this very special place, so I don't want to be redundant with all the details. The point I want to make is that we've stayed at this gorgeous home and enjoyed it's perfect location, VIEWS and comfort several times now. Each time we arrive we are greeted with a little note, a bottle of wine and freshly baked cookies. Those are delightful, but even more important is that the house is exactly as we expect each and every time. It's clean, well stocked and set up for immediate enjoyment in every season. My husband wanted to experience winter here this stay and we were delighted to be "snowed in" together for the night. The next morning we awoke to an already plowed driveway and shoveled sidewalk - what a treat. We are booked for two more stays this year and can't wait to be back time and time again! Thank you, Jack and Mary Ellen for sharing - again!
We so appreciate your love for the Hudson River House! When choosing to change something or add something new we always think of what very special guests like yourselves would like. As we have stated in the past, you treat this home like your own and it welcomes you back every time with such pleasure and happiness! Thank you for another wonderful review. We never take them for granted!
Magical Home on the Hudson
Having stayed in many VRBO properties up and down the eastern seaboard, we found this home to be by far the nicest. The house itself is very well appointed and private. The western views across the Hudson to the mountains are breathtaking. The owners are delightful and very responsive. We have already booked a return visit.
We realize people can choose any where to stay for their vacations. By putting in the extra effort and touches in this very special home, we end up attracting very special guests like yourselves! You make it worth it! Thank you for your wonderful review and for your return booking!
We had a great get-away at the Hudson River House. Everything here is first class and the view of the Hudson and Catskills Mountains is unobstructed and unsurpassed! Jack and Mary Eleen were very helpful and have provided more than one could ever need. The Hillsboro NJ folks have said it all and we say "ditto" to that.

Thank you for the "first class" review! What a pleasure it was to have you as guests. We look forward to seeing you again!
Our Favorite Destination - An Amazing Oasis!
We just thoroughly enjoyed our third stay at this peaceful destination. I've written two previous reviews about the hosts, privacy, comfort, views, etc, so I won't be redundant. The consistency of the cleanliness, stocking of supplies, maintenance of the property - inside and out - is incredible. We noticed some new dishes, glasses, towels and just small thoughtful items everywhere. The owners are true hosts and really enjoy having others delight in the relaxing oasis they've worked so hard to create, and continually recreate. Even though the area offers so much to do outdoors and in the cute town of Hudson (just two miles away), we hardly left this spot. For the entire week we read, slept, drank wine, cooked, took bubble baths and did a lot of NOTHING. We enjoyed some of the great restaurants in Hudson, but found ourselves prefering to be "home" because we never wanted to miss a spectacular sunset. Just can't say enough wonderful things about Jack and Maryellen and this stunning destination. Next trip is already booked and we CAN'T wait. Thank you, both, for all you do!
You could not be better guests! We are always pleased when you return because you know the routine now so well. It is your home away from home! Thank you so much for another outstanding review! They are greatly appreciated!
Photos don't do it justice
A truly a excellent property. Jack and Mary could not have been better hosts. From the moment we arrived we felt right at home, our hosts had really thought of everything. Beautiful sunsets over the Hudson don't get much better. The only problem you will have is you won't want to leave!
It is always a pleasure to host wonderful guests like yourselves! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the 5 star review!
